I am age 21 female I have lot of hair fall and white hairs. What I should do for reducing hair fall and what type of shampoo I have to use whether I should use conditioner or not please help me.

Boil dried amla in coconut oil till the oil turns black in color. Massage your scalp with this oil. This is an effective and very easy home remedy to check hair loss. There are also other ways where we can include amla in our hair care routine. • Use amla and shikakai powder than you can buy in ayurvedic stores. Mix them both and make a paste. Apply this to your hair. Leave it on for a few minutes and wash off after a few minutes. Caution: If you have dry hair, skip the shikakai.

Hello Doctor, Egg yolk or egg white, which is better for hair in terms of regrowth. Please suggest. Actually my hair density has been reduced but my hair lines are good Does hair regrowth happens naturally by any means or its just a myth that people are living in. Please reply with your valuable suggestions. Thanks.

Using egg white part is more helpful for the hair growth. Go for that. Initially for 2-3 times, you won't find much worthy, but as you will start using it regularly, your scalp will also start getting nourished regularly, then you find very very good results. Still if you have any queries, please ask. Take care :)

I'm suffering from psoriasis vulgaris. Is there any way to cure/ reduce the inflammations over my skin?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Used alone, creams and ointments that you apply to your skin can effectively treat mild to moderate psoriasis. When the disease is more severe, creams are likely to be combined with oral medications or light therapy. Topical psoriasis treatments include: Topical corticosteroids.

I am having black spots or marks on my hand due to sun burn. It only happen on my hand instead of any other body part. I don't know what to do.

Hello Dear, Sunburn is one of the most common problems that people face during summer season. Sunburn is the result of overexposure to ultra violet rays. Sunburn can be immensely painful even though it looks very harmless. If not taken care of, it can cause serious burns. Being a difficult condition to treat, it is better to avoid getting sunburnt than try to treat burnt skin. But these are all hypothetical advices and may not be practical. If you get sunburn, it is important not to take it lightly as it can even cause permanent damage to the skin. Symptoms of sunburn may not surface immediately. The reddening, blisters, skin peeling and boils could surface at a later stage and are even capable of leading to cancerous lesions on the skin. There are home remedies that can remove sunburns naturally without medical intervention. Nevertheless, you must be very careful as to seek medical attention if you do not respond to home remedies. When the skin is burnt, the first step towards healing is to cool the skin form the effect of heat. There are a number of ways to do that. If you have aloe vera and vinegar in its pure form, apply either of the directly on the burnt area.  If you do not have them, mustard oil is another way to remove the heat from the skin. Rub mustard oil on the affected skin and let it dry naturally.

Rashes on skin are mostly caused due to allergy or called hypersensitivity. It may caused by some special food items or cloth fabrics. * you are advised to please check the clothes you are wearing. Avoid all types of synthetic cloths like nylon & use only cotton clothes to avoid rashes. * avoid peanuts, jaggery (gur), garlic, tila, cashew, pista, dates, spices, curd, egg, chicken, alcohol because these food increase the internal heat of body which may also cause redness of skin & appearance of reddish spots, itching & burning. * apply calamine lotion on sites of rashes to get relief from itching & burning. * drink upto 2-3 liters of water everyday. * practice sheetali pranayan in the morning for 5-8 minutes. MD- Dermatology & Venereology,Leprosy , International Fellowship in Dermatology, MBBS

Dear lybrate-user, vaginal itching can be due to infections, irritants, allergies etc. It is important to look for any associated vaginal discharge. Fungal infection by candida and bacterial vaginosis are important causes of genital itching and vaginal discharge. So please consult a gynaecologist or dermatologist to get the correct treatment. It is also important to evaluate and treat your partner as well. Hope this helps. Take care.

STRESS AND WORRY are major factors in causing hair fall. Unless it is answered, it is very difficult. In stead of bothering about hair fall, concentrate on what is required out of you at this age. You will excel there and your problem will stop by itself. Do not go for any anti anxiety drugs. Avoid all medicines and shampoos. General guidelines: Take utmost care to get good sleep; if stressed out knowingly or suffering unknowingly, seek help to address the issue. Total darkness in the bed room is very essential for good sleep. No night lamps even. When sleep is disturbed, hair fall starts. Don't go for any so called branded hair oil but use genuine, virgin coconut oil only. Avoid all shampoos. Apply virgin coconut oil freely, let it soak it for 20 minutes, Apply Shikakai or mild, very diluted shampoo lightly. Not more than once a week. Continue and wait for 3 months to see good results Food: Panneer, cheese, eggs, chicken, fish

He is using diprovate, tacroz and moisture. His skin has become black. Now-a-days he doesn't want to go out. Though he is doing well in studies I am very much anxious for his allergic problem and future. Please suggest.

M. sc Psychology, BHMS

I understood the severity of the c/o. Which effects your son's confidence levels. Rt now what he is taking itself shows the intensity. I suggest dont stop at a time all those medicines, but parallelly you can try homeopathy from an expert. N gradually based on imprvmnt those rx could b reduced dosage n potency wise. The dark discolouration all r the side effects of the present creams etc.

Hair fall may be attributed to different reasons like using artificial colors, hair styling, chemicals etc. It may be due to some internal weakness also. Please go for herbal neem shampoo. Use shikakai and amla as conditioner (soak amla and shikakai in water overnight and boil a little in morning). Apply it on hairs. Keep for half an hour and then wash. It will condition the hairs.
