Most of the back problem occurs die to improper posture, learn properly about good posture from a therapist, you can have a ice pack on your pain area to subside your pain. Make time to meet a physiotherapist for an assessment where you will advised to keep your self fit by losing some weight too.

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do streching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief see a physiotherapist in person as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

Hi, take homoeopathic medicines - arnica 200 and rhus tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 month. Also, apply schwabe's topi-arnica and topi mp gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. And wrap crepe bandage over it. Get back to me thereafter. 1.

Hi. Use compression stockings. Watch your body weight. Do leg raising exercises & daily walks. Have high fiber diet & low salt. Avoid high heel shoes & tight clothes. Avoid cross leg sitting. Can visit physiotherapy center to learn proper exercises. TC.

I am experiencing slip disc pain, but it is not possible me to take bed rest, how to cure it can anybody tell me?

Hi if you have localized back pain with - no neurological symptoms like numbness, paresthesia, weakness in limbs etc, my advice is: - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a physiotherapist and then at home. - avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc - take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days - take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm - ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm - local analgesic spray can be used but no massage is required let me know how you are feeling. I will actually ask you to get x ray of involved region of spine (ap & lateral) and send reports across to me so that I can advise further in a better manner. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Different Types Of Exercises To Treat Sciatica!

Sciatica is a very common neuropathic pain that is caused by damage to the sciatic nerve, a large nerve that runs from the lower back region down the end of each leg. It is the largest single nerve in the body.
This condition affects around 4 out of 10 people at some point of their lives. The nature of the pain varies from a mild ache to a sharp stinging sensation and may cause feelings of numbness and extreme weakness.

Causes of Sciatica
The causes for the onset of Sciatica are numerous. Some of them are as follows:

  • Slipped lumbar disc
  • Muscle inflammation
  • Internal bleeding
  • Pregnancy
  • Obesity
  • Awkward sleeping position
  • Uncomfortable footwear
  • Spinal injury

How can physical therapy help?
There are many ways of treating Sciatica, such as medication, acupuncture and surgery, which can provide relief. The most common and easy treatment method however is physical therapy. A progressive and controlled exercise routine that is specifically tailored to the nature of the condition in consultation with a physical therapist acts as an effective remedy in treating the problem. It alleviates pain and also eliminates the chances of relapse.

Physical therapy exercises used to treat Sciatica are of many types. They are a combination of core strengthening, muscular stretching and aerobic conditioning routines, which aim at correcting the root of the problem.

The different types of exercises employed to treat Sciatica include the following:

  1. Strengthening exercises: These aim at strengthening the spinal column and the pelvic region, which includes the hips and buttocks. They help in making the muscles and ligaments in this region more robust and allow for improved flexibility and support.Lunges and squats are some of the examples.
  2. Stretching exercises: These provide pain relief through improved agility and flexibility. The most important aspect of these routines is stretching and exercising the hamstring. Hamstring, stretches, calf stretches and tricep stretches are a part of stretching exercises.
  3. Aerobic conditioning: These are cardiovascular exercises of low intensity, which provide pain relief through the release of endorphins and the facilitation of fluid and nutrient exchange. Dear Lybrate I am having a constant pain in my lower back from the last 2.5 years I was on medication for an about one complete year for it. I am not able to bend forward properly, sometimes the pain goes to the leg also, doctors give antibiotics and pain killers mostly which weakens my immune system, I now catches cold very easily if I eat something cold, my age is 30, and weight is 63. Am I able to live normally as before.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

The treatment of Gitelman is directed toward the specific symptoms that are apparent in each individual. Treatment may require the coordinated efforts of a team of specialists.There is no cure for Gitelman syndrome. The mainstay of treatment for affected individuals is oral potassium and magnesium supplements. For many individuals, lifelong daily supplementation with magnesium is recommended. In some cases, during severe muscle cramps, magnesium has been given intravenously.. Some affected individuals may receive medications known as potassium-sparing diuretics such as spironolactone or amiloride. These drugs increase the excretion of water in urine, but retain potassium preventing potassium loss (hypokalemia). supplementation with magnesium, pain medications and/or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen may be beneficial.

Muscular fatigue may have caused by exercises. Pl limit exercises. Bath with hot water after gentle massage with Mahavishgarbh oil warmed a bit. Drink turmeric in hot milk twice a day. Avoid loss of semen by sex or masturbation for some time or increase your semen by herbs.

The best treatment for Hamstring muscle pain is to keep ice in the area where you have pain/or where the muscle is paining. You can also do hot water fermentation in the area. You shall keep your legs elevated by using a pillow or 2 pillows. Once the pain is subsided then you shall also go for self stretching of your hamstring muscles. You can do contrast bath to relieve this pain. Contrast bath is nothing but keeping in one tub hot water (bearable heat) and in another tub cold water.
