Hello lybrate-user, to reduce your lower belly and tighten the muscles there leg lifts and navakasana will help you. Regarding food. 1. Drink more fluids 2. Focus on eating orange coloured foods like pumpkin, orange, carrot, sweet potato, fish. 3. While eating non veg go for organic lean cut meat. Avoid red meat. 4. Eat nuts like walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds. Hope this helps you. Stay healthy stay fit.

It may be because of meniscus tear or ligament injury. So you feel any click inside knee or instability during running or walking on uneven ground? Do quadriceps and Hamstrings strengthening. Do cycling exercise.

How to sit in correct position
Correct ergonomics:
1. Sit straight in your chair with support of lumbar roll, rolled towel or small pillow over low back area.
2. Try to sit on the edge of chair so that you do not lean forward. While sitting on edge is comfortable to make your spine erect, form an arch, make your head to drop in front and your shoulders to round.
3. Drop your shoulders and rest them.
4. Arms should be close to your sides with elbows bend at 90 degree position.
5. Head should be stretch towards the ceiling.
6. Chin tuck in.
7. Upper back should be straight by rolling shoulders backwards along with tummy tuck in.
8. Neck in comfortable straight position.
9. The height of the table should be adjusted in a way so that it should not be too high or too low in the level of eyes so that neck should not bend up or down.
10. Knees should be in 90 degree flexion so that they are on level with your hips.
11. Feet should be place flat on the floor. Make sure it should make a level with knee and hip position. If knee or leg pains then you can also keep small stool or footstool or other support to rest your foot on it.

Pain in knee joint. When I sit folding the leg and when I stand after this position I feel lots of pain in my knee joint please advice me.

Dear lybrate user avoid jerky, rapid, running, weight bearing exercises and abnormal sitting postures. A light massage with little warm mahanarayan tail everyday morning for about 4-5 wks will help you. Wear knee caps for about 30mts every day to immobalise the joint. Go for light stretching exercises. Take ksheera bala taila 2 caps 2 tms a day after meals. Dashamularistam 10ml with equal qty of water 2 tms aftr meals.

I am 31 male. I have lower back discomfort sometimes. Got MRI Spine, it shows very slight lumbar root nerve compression. Now mostly at night while trying to sleep, I get pulsing, twitching from knee till thighs and sometimes till chest which cause suffocation. That pulsing/twitching lasts for 5 mins and then vanishes.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Pain in back can be due to oa of knee. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it doe s not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not appear on video conference.

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. 1. Get Lumber spine MRI DONE 2. Start with Physiotherapy treatment 3. Learn spinal exercises 4. Wear Lumber spine belt 5. Don't sit on floor 6. Don't lift heavy things 7. Don't do forward bending 8. Do hot fermentation twice a day 9. Apply volini cream before sleeping 10. Take calcium vitamin D 3 and Methylcobalmine supplement

do situps regularly. move your leg up and down with some weight at ankle by sitting on a high chair 50 times daily. surely you may get relief

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I am 25 yr old female and m having leg ache continuously since over 5 months now. Its unbearable specially while sleeping. Only one leg at a time aches now but earlier like 3 months ago both legs used to ache. I have all tests done like thyroid, diabetes which are negative. Please suggest what should I do.

This could be due to OA knee &/Or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated Rule out diabetes & vit.D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. IBUPROFEN 200mg OD & SOS x 5days CALDIKID PLUS (mankind) 1 tab ODx10days You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan.. Don't ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello, you can take homoeopathic medicines 1.Ruta 30 ( 4 drops in little water) every morning empty stomach for a week. 2.Rhus Tox 30 ( 4 drops in little water) thrice a day for a week. 3.Calci Aid ( Bakson) ( 2tabs) thrice a day for a week and revert. Keep a gap of 15 - 20 minutes in both the medicines.

Psoriasis is controlled well but not curable It increases in winters Keep applying moisturiser to prevent dryness of skin,as dryness aggravates it Can be controlled with medicated creams
