You can lose weight easily if you are patient and determined to shed those extra kilos. You just have to alter your daily routine, watch what you eat and be physically active. This requires you to be on your weight loss commitment for quiet long. For a start please follow: 1.Cut down the excess carbs. If you want to lose weight you should start by avoiding sugar and starch (like bread). A low carb diet reduces your hunger and makes it easier to eat less. And it might even increase your fat burning at rest. 2.Don’t skip meals. Skipping meals will not make you lose weight faster. That strategy backfires because your body thinks food is in short supply, so it slows your metabolism in order to conserve energy. Over time, the result is that when you do eat — even if you consume the same foods as always — your body will be slower to use the calories as fuel, thus creating a backlog of unwanted pounds. 3.Stay hydrated. You've heard it before, and you'll hear it again. That's because drinking 64 ounces of water daily is one of the easiest ways to speed up weight loss. Your body needs water in order to efficiently metabolize stored fat. When you shortchange your supply, you're likely to slow down that process, meaning it's more difficult for you to burn calories. An easy eight glasses a day (at least!) will keep your system running smoothly. 4.Start exercising. Strength training builds lean muscle tissue, which burns more calories — at work or at rest — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The more lean muscle you have, the faster you'll slim down. How do you start strength training? Try some push-ups or a few squats or lunges. Use your free weights to perform simple biceps curls or triceps pulls right in your home or office. Do these exercises three to four times per week, and you'll soon see a rapid improvement in your physique. 5.Go for an evening walk. An evening activity may be particularly beneficial because many people's metabolism slows down toward the end of the day. Thirty minutes of aerobic activity before dinner increases your metabolic rate and may keep it elevated for another two or three hours, even after you've stopped moving. What that means for you: Those dinner calories have less of a chance to take up permanent residence on your hips. 6.Take adequate rest. You should also make an effort to get enough good sleep, preferably every night. Strive to wake up refreshed of your own accord, independently of the alarm clock. If you’re the kind of person who always gets brutally woken up by the alarm ringing, you might never be giving your body adequate rest. 7.Supplement vitamins and minerals. Nutrient-dense, good food is certainly the foundation of weight loss. But an adequate amount of vitamin D can be difficult to ingest via food. In the case of a lack of sun (such as during the darker months of autumn and winter), it’s wise to supplement for multiple health reasons – and perhaps even for your weight.

According to ayurveda, for treatmnet of obesity, you firstly stop causative factors from your life style. Like drinking too much cold water, eat too much sweets, day sleep, water after meal, lack of exercise, curd, menda etc. I will need your detail history. Till you can follow this * start drinking hot water * stop day sleep * start any exercise in morning, like suryanamaskar, walking, joging, sports * drink juice of turmeric n ginger with honey * take jau barley, instead of ghenhu wheat. * use cow ghee n milk only * boild rise in open pot, don't use cocker. Withdraw water if rice we are offering ayurveda course for obesity.

Such products marketed as for weight loss cannot do miracles. You need to have diet plan based on your BMI & activities. Whatever we eat is metabolised by the body for the energy needed to do daily work and the excess is stored as fat. Abdomen is the first place to gain weight and last to disappear. In brief, Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs / chest etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) Drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) Take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/2 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. And do aerobic exercises, running, jogging or at least walking briskly 3-5 KMs and swimming if possible, and in a gym if feasible. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise & dieting to take just as mush food as needed for your activities. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. If you eat too fast, you eat more than you need to satisfy your hunger. Your brain needs time to catch up with your stomach. •Plan your meals ahead of time so you make healthy choices. When dining out, check the menu online and decide what you will order before you sit down. Ask for dressings on the side. Opt for foods that are baked, broiled or steamed versus fried or swimming in creamy sauces. Avoid chips and bread baskets—they add unnecessary calories. •Stay hydrated. People often mistake thirst for hunger. •Eat breakfast. If you skip this meal, you'll be starving by lunchtime. You'll have more difficulty making healthy choices throughout the day. •Find resources to help you keep track of your food choices and nutritional values, and that can offer additional support when you need it.

Rapid weight gain is a cause of stretch marks. Please control your weight. Use Vitamin E cream daily for example months. Special trts like lasers micromesotherapy help to improve stretch marks. C Please get am evaluation from dermatologist.

Dear lybrateuser, breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day as it has to provide you with the high level of energy & also keep you full in the morning as you do your work. Ideally it should be a mix of carbohydrates & proteins. For carbohydrate have wholegrain foods like musli, oats, cornflakes with a bowl of milk, wholegrain paratha, upma combine it with a fruit. For protein have yoghurt, slice of cheese, cottage cheese, sprouts. Also you can add dry fruits, a few almonds, walnuts etc.

Indigestion refers to the discomfort in your upper belly or abdomen after you have eaten your food. Indigestion in many cases has an underlying problem like gastro esophageal reflux disease, ulcers or disorders of your gall bladder. Indigestion is also known as dyspepsia in medical terms.

The causes of indigestion due to the presence of any diseases or underlying medical conditions consist of the following:
1. Problems like ulcers
2. In rare cases it could be initial symptoms of stomach cancer
3. Chronic pancreatitis
4. Thyroid disease
5. Infections in your stomach and irritable bowel syndrome
6. Pregnancy could also result in indigestion

Some of the lifestyle habits that can cause indigestion are mentioned below:
1. Excessive consumption of alcohol
2. Smoking cigarettes
3. Stress and fatigue in daily life
4. Consumption of foods with high fat content
5. Regular and excessive intake of fried and oily foods

Medications can also cause indigestion and some of those could be:
1. Steroid medications
2. Thyroid medicines
3. Certain of antibiotics in heavy doses
4. Oral contraceptives and estrogen replacement medications

5. Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and naproxen
6. Painkillers

Sometimes indigestion may not be related to the factors mentioned above and yet persist within your body. This type of indigestion is known as functional or non ulcer dyspepsia. You should contact a medical professional immediately if the symptoms of indigestion include some of the following:
1. Back pain
2. Jaw pain
3. Heavy sweating and anxiety
4. Indigestion that lasts longer than one day
5. Severe and sudden pain in the abdomen
6. Problems when you try to swallow food
7. Vomiting or presence of blood in your stool
8. Sudden loss in your weight
9. Skin and eyes turning yellow in color which is a tell tale sign of jaundice

In case your indigestion persists for too long and doesn’t respond to conventional treatment, your doctor might prescribe some of the following tests.

2. Blood tests
3. Upper endoscopy

First you should follow diet plan for weight loss. * in morning, take 2-3 chapattis witha bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of without cream milk after 2 hour of breakfast. *in lunch you can take a bowl of soupor salad. *in evening, you can take a cup of teawith glucose biscuits. *in dinner, you can take a bowl of fruits or 2 chapattis with a bowl of vegetables. * for thighs - work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. To reduce stomach fat: * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily. * lie down on plain surface, put your hands on the back of head by folding your elbows, now move your head towads the knees try to touch your knees with forehead and then move back and lie down. Repeat it for 5-10 times daily. * do surya namaskar yoga everyday, as surya namaskar have 12 forms of yoga. Do it for in morning everyday to get in shape in short period. * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories.

Breast fat fill - Myths and Facts

Breast fat fill is a procedure that involves surgically harvesting fat from certain areas of the body and injecting them into the breast for aesthetically pleasing outcomes. It does not find application in just breast augmentation, but also following implant or flap based reconstruction in breast cancer patients (post mastectomy) with astounding outcomes. 

  1. MYTH: Fat will disappear.  FACT: The process of fat grafting requires harvest from another site followed by processing and finally injection.  During the procedure some fat cells can be damaged.  While the goal is to remove all liquid (injected to minimize pain and bleeding), blood, and non-viable fat cells, some will still be injected.   On top of that even some perfectly good fat cells will not obtain proper blood supply in the breast.  So not all of the volume injected is actually healthy fat cells that get good blood supply.  That volume gets absorbed by your body, leaving you with the healthy fat that did survive. In addition you will have swelling from the procedure that will settle over time.  The fat that you have at a couple of months though is likely to be permanent. If, however, your weight goes up or down, so too will the size of your breasts.
  2. MYTH: Fat grafting is an easy surgery.  FACT: Fat grafting has many benefits over implants but is a longer and more technically demanding procedure.  Every step of the way needs to be done meticulously or the fat survival rate will go down.  It is time consuming and takes a lot of patience on your surgeon's part.  Not all surgeons have the patience to get the ideal result.  If they are not willing to place the fat drop by drop the result will be limited.
  3. MYTH: Fat can not increase the size of the breast much.  FACT:  Because of the importance of blood supply you can essentially double the size of the breast at the time of surgery.  If you over exceed that amount the fat will not have good blood supply and may not survive as well.  After resorption of fluid and cessation of swelling you can expect a 50-60% larger breast than pre-surgery. If a second surgery is done, you can inject even more than the first time leaving your final volume 2-2.5x larger.
  4. MYTH: Fat grafting and implants are never done together.  FACT: Fat grafting is an amazing technique to use in conjunction with an implant.  Although many patients do not need this, it can conceal the edge of an implant really well in thinner patients.  This provides patients with a full yet still natural looking and feeling result.  It is also great for enhancing cleavage in patients with wide set breasts.  However, very few surgeons do this.  It is only done by surgeons with a very specialized interest in both breast surgery and fat transfer.  With all that said, the results can be amazing.
  5. MYTH: Fat will leave me with lumps or dents.  FACT:  Fat grafting can provide amazing looking results that are natural looking and feeling.  However, the process MUST be done very carefully.  If too much fat is placed or if it is done without precision then you will have a much higher chance of fat loss or oil cysts.  You must go to a surgeon that has a very specialized interest in fat transfer. Not all surgeons provide great result with fat transfer.  It is not as straight forward as placing an implant.
  6. MYTH: Fat transfer is better than implants.  FACT: There is no perfect surgery.   Fat transfer is great as there are virtually no scars, you get to treat a "problem" area with liposuction, and the results are very natural.  However, it does not do as well to increase volume when you desire a much larger breast.  It also does not enhance the shape of the breast as well as an implant in someone with a less pretty shape to begin with. Your surgeon should go over the pros and cons of all your choices and help you decide which is the best for you.
  7. MYTH: Fat grafting can be done in anyone.  FACT:  Although fat grafting can be done in anyone, not everyone is an ideal candidate.  You need to have enough fat to harvest to make it worthwhile.  Sometimes the only fat people have is in the butt.  Not all patients want to give up volume in their butt. You also need to have a place to put it.  If you are so thin that there is little space to place the fat you may need more than one surgery.  Remember, you can double the size of the breast at the time of surgery, leaving you 50%-60% larger in the end.  Your second surgery you can put a fair bit more fat than the first, leaving you between 2-2.5 times larger than you started. For some patients they may simply do better with an implant and some fat grafting to conceal it well.
  8. MYTH: There is only one perfect technique.  FACT: Many surgeons that do a lot of fat grafting use vary different techniques for how they harvest the fat and how they process it.  So long as care is taken to minimize injury to fat there are lots of ways of doing these steps.  What virtually all surgeons agree on is that fat must be carefully placed and you must not exceed the maximum volume.
  9. MYTH:  Fat transfer costs more than implants.  FACT: Fat transfer is really dependant on the time it will take to harvest, process and transfer the fat.  It certainly takes longer than an implant.  So there will be more surgical and anaesthetic fees.  However, there is no cost of implants which is considerable.  In the end the prices are not that different.  Choose the best surgery for you based on your goals.  Not the cost.

Sir I am 34 years old weight 62 kgs. My recent thyroid test reports shows tsh 7.55 and t3 t4 normal. Also suffering from male pattern hair loss and neck pain. My homeopath has suggested me Nat mur, thyro 6, boron, R tox 200, selenium. Will this be helpful to improve my condition or shall I take thyroxine?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. With TSH 7.55 mU/L, it is considered as sub-clinical hypothyroidism. In such a condition no treatment is advocated. However, if there are troublesome symptoms related to hypothyroidism are present then treatment is indicated. Male pattern of baldness may not be related to hypothyroidism, as some persons tend to loose hair much early. My suggestion is get an Anti TPO antibody test done to see if the number is higher than normal. Then do come back If confirmed hypothyroidism is there then only option is to take thyroxine tablets. In adequate dosage. Thanks.
