My grandmother (83 years) is having pain around the knee area which is moving downwards. Because of this she is feeling the pain in her entire leg. This is happening in the left leg. The severity of pain increases when she lies down, but reduces when she walks or sits. Is this because of some nerve problem? Have tried cold and water water massage too but there is no improvement. She has been operated on right leg for the hip fracture and her movement is with the help of stick support. This pain has started since last 3-4 days. Due to this she is unable to sleep and is impacting her overall health.

Pain in the knee area in a 83 year old lady is mostly due to osteoarthritis or as we commonly call it as old age joints. Moreover she is bearing less weight on the right leg and more on the left, which further aggravates her condition. It is not something major to worry at this moment. Get a xray done and we can reach a definite diagnosis.

Hello doctor, kerala and I am now 18 years old. My height is 183 cm and my weight is 55 kg and I am not comfortable now. My long time wish is gain weight and I have low confidence. I eat well but the result is against to me. And one more information that I couldn't eat beef or mutton exclude chicken. When ate the beef or mutton after few minutes my stomach will pain. For weight gain: It is a gradual process. You have to keep patience. 1. Don't skip your meal 2. Eat a balanced diet which include all food groups like cereals, pulses, milk & milk products, fruits, vegetables and oil. 3. Increase water intake. Try to avoid too much beef and mutton in your diet is not good for health it may increase your bad cholesterol level. So eat non veg in less quantity like 150-200g in grilled or roasted form.

For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg with tablet stemetil and Eat nutritious food and have adequate fluid intake and take physical rest and Avoid spicy food in your diet and Also avoid peanuts and potatoes in your diet

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. To stop or control hair loss, increase your intake of green leafy vegetables, salad, fruits and sprouts. Include yeast, wheatgerm, soybean, whole grains and nuts in your meals. Massage the scalp gently with coconut or almond oil daily for 10 to 15 minutes.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Weight is dependent on metabolism and genetics along with diet and exercise. Gaining weight requires you to eat more calories than you burn. Although fried or sugary foods are calorie dense, eating them exclusively won’t provide enough nutrition to keep you energetic and healthy. Eating several meals and snacks throughout the day and including nutritious, calorie-dense food will help you gain weight healthfully. Weight gain depends primarily on your genetics, age, weight and activity level. To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you’re not used to eating large quantities of food at one time, you may find it difficult to fit all of your calories into three meals per day. Eating nutritious, calorie-dense foods every two to three hours will help you get your calories in without making you overly full and sluggish. If you tend to forget to eat or are always on the go, bring calorie-dense snacks such as eggs, mixed nuts, fruits and dairy. Nutritious, calorie-dense foods provide essential vitamins and minerals, which promote good health and energy. Adding ghee and cream to foods adds additional calories for very little extra physical bulk. Fruit juice, masala milk provides crucial nutrients. Meal-replacement shakes and protein powder sound like good options but also remember that unless your diet is not planned sadly they won't help.

I will suggest you to apply aloevera gel twice a day for six months over the lesion and follow up on completion and for a glowing skin Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong, chana,Dal, rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit.
