I am 20 years old. I have a few days for exam and due to my lethargic condition I can't prepare properly. Previously I was on medication for depression for 6 months and for irregular menstrual cycle for 2 years. Now I am not taking any medicine. I don't feel healthy and that's hampering my studies. What can I do for this because I need a solution as soon as possible.

Hello, Irregular period is usually defined as any type of bleeding that's abnormal when compared to your last few menstrual cycles. It can include everything from a late period to early bleeding, and scant bleeding to extremely heaving bleeding. For many women, this can even mean an absent period (amenorrhea) or two periods in one month (metrorrhagia). It's actually a way of your body telling you something is not right and probably your hormones (especially estrogen and progesterone) are imbalanced. Although, in most cases, they are not dangerous, but it is important to figure out what is causing the irregularity (which may require a trip to the doctor). Some common reasons for irregular periods: STRESS: Stress is the most common cause of irregular periods. Cortisol, the stress hormone, has a direct impact on how much estrogen and progesterone, two sex hormones, gets produced by the body. POOR DIET: Unhealthy eating and being overweight or underweight can cause irregular periods. In order for a woman to maintain a regular cycle, her body fat percentage needs to be at least 17-22 percent. EXCESSIVE EXERCISE: Excessive exercising (or even lack of it) and drastic weight changes can decrease the body fat, being underweight can offset your hormone levels, thus contributing to irregular periods. BIRTH CONTROL PILLS: When some women stop taking the pill, their periods may take one to three months to return to normal. And this can also reveal an underlying hormonal problem that was masked by taking the birth control pills. PCOS: Polycystic ovary syndrome causes cysts to form on the ovaries, interfering with regular ovulation. In fact, PCOS is far more complicated than a missed period. Talk to your doctor about this condition. THYROID: Thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, can cause widespread symptoms like changes in estrogen and cortisol hormones and missed periods. OTHER REASONS: Some other reasons include perimenopause, menopause, pregnancy, certain medications you might be taking due to other health issues, and breastfeeding. Some home remedies you can try to treat irregular period problem: REDUCE STRESS: Breathe away stress by doing yoga and breathing exercises and meditation in the morning. Also, do kapalbhati and anulom-vilom pranayama for 15 mins each. CHASTE BERRY: The best known hormone balancing herb for women, Chaste berry helps to regulate the female gynecological system. It works by normalizing the secretions of the pituitary gland, hypothalamus, and ovaries, which then appropriately signal to balance the endocrine system. Note – This herb is not recommended if you are taking any fertility drug. It should not be consumed during pregnancy. SHATAVARI: Shatavari is also known to restore the balance of hormones in women. Mix it with equal amount of Ashwagandha and take 1 teaspoon with warm milk at night daily. OTHER HERBS: Some other herbs you can try to regain healthy menstruation: Holy basil (Tulsi), Black cohosh, licorice (Mulethi) root, turmeric, and Evening primerose oil. (If you are on medications, always consult your doctor first). DIETARY CHANGES: Drink carrot juice, aloe vera juice, grape juice. Add ginger, cinnamon, pumpkin seeds, green (unripe) papaya, sesame seeds (with Jaggery), Apple Cider Vinegar and wheat grass to your diet. Also eat other seasonal fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water throughout the day. Most women return to healthy menstruation cycle following these remedies. However, if you don’t benefit from the above, you should see your gynaecologist immediately.

Hello, Try the following home remedies: ALOE VERA: To reduce pitta and preserve the health of your hair, drink Aloe Vera juice (⅓ cup preferably with a pinch of cumin) 3 times a day for about 3 months. You can also scrape out the gel from an aloe plant with a spoon, and apply to your hair and scalp (and face too). ONION PASTE: Onion paste helps you cleanse your scalp and increases hair growth. You just need to add onions in the mixer and prepare a paste. Apply the paste on your scalp. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse with water. GUAVA LEAVES: Add guava leaves to hot water and boil it for a few minutes till the time the water turns black. Using cotton, apply the solution on your scalp. Repeat this process two to three times in a week. AMLA JUICE: Amla does wonders to the hair and is one of the best cures for baldness. Take equal portions of fresh Amla juice and Lemon juice and apply the mixture on your scalp. Leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse off. COCONUT and ALMOND MILK: Take 5-10 almonds and blend them with appropriate amount of tender coconut malai. Apply this nourishing hair pack to provide Vitamin E and many other nutrients to your hair. HONEY and EGG YOLK: Mix honey and egg yolk together and massage on your scalp for 30 minutes. Egg yolk will help stimulate hair growth. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: You could give your hair a last rinse using apple cider vinegar concoction. Mix 1 part of ACV with 2 parts of plain water and use it as a final rinse (after shampoo).

And at 10.00 am I make omelette of ...
No, The protein content is not entirely lost. It becomes denatured. Don't worry about it. Just don't stick to one form of egg. Keep a variety. Eat boiled, half boiled, whole egg, omelette etc focusing mainly on boiled eggs.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Mix one part of apple cider vinegar in one part of water. Apply the mixture on your scalp, massage gently and leave on for 5 minutes before washing off with a mild cleanser. OIL MASSAGE: Massaging the scalp with brahmi oil or bhringaraj oil at bedtime can help to prevent hair loss. In addition to the qualities of the oil, the massage itself will improve circulation at the root of the hair, thus bringing more nutrients to support hair growth. CASTOR OIL: Castor oil helps with hair regrowth and hair loss and many other hair and scalp problems. Castor oil has a thick consistency, so you can mix it with coconut oil, olive oil or jojoba oil in a half and half ratio. This will make the mask easier to distribute throughout your hair. Hello, Gaining weight in a healthy way is not ROCKET science. It just takes knowing a little bit about muscle physiology and exercise science. If you are not gaining weight than do not look much further for the answer. It is really not that complicated and really only breaks down to one or two or all of the following: 1. You do not maintain energy balance (Energy In vs. Energy Out). 2. You do not eat the right foods at the right times (poor food combinations). 3. You do not give your muscles enough stimulus (or reason) to grow. ENERGY BALANCE Here is the easiest way to understand energy balance: Energy Balance = Energy Intake – Energy Expenditure The balance of intake versus outtake is a critical starting point in weight gain or loss. If you have a SURPLUS of calories (positive energy balance) where the intake EXCEEDS the expenditure, you gain weight. If you have a DEFICIT of calories (negative energy balance) where the intake is LESS than expenditure, you lose weight. Simple enough. Now remember that a surplus of calories is ONLY one component of gaining weight! Three thousand calories of junk and empty calories is COMPLETELY different from 3000 calories of high quality carbs, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. Anybody who does not understand this does not understand the theory that a calorie is not a calorie. (You can determine your daily calorie intake using a good online calorie calculator or you can ask your general physician.) NUTRITION So in order to gain healthy muscle mass you need to provide your body with the essential nutrients it needs to promote new muscle growth. A healthy diet for most people is one that includes 5-7 portions of vegetables and fruits a day (a good balance is 3-4 vegetables and 2-3 fruits, 2-3 portions of whole grains such as whole grain barley, brown rice, and oats, and 2-3 portions of lean protein such as skinless chicken, low-fat plain yogurt, lentils, or eggs. Your diet should also include regular amounts of fish oils, nuts and seeds, plant oils, herbs, and spices. Remember, no one food can make you healthy on its own—aim instead for a varied and balanced diet. This means trying to include many of the seasonal fruits, vegetables and other foods into your diet on a regular basis, and varying your choices daily.

Hello sir
Sir daily im losing my hair and such hair are fall day by day approx. 40 to 50 hair fall. So much dandruff ...
Hello, Although dandruff can sometimes be caused by a fungal infection or other skin disease, in most cases it is produced when the scalp doesn’t receive a sufficient supply of blood. Consequently there is a lack of protein in the skin, which becomes dry and flaky. Dandruff may also be due to a deficiency of vitamin B-6, or to an excess of vata dosha, which also makes the skin dry. Try some natural treatments: NEEM OIL: To improve circulation to the scalp, massage for a few minutes daily with neem oil (in a sesame oil base). If a fungal infection of the skin is causing the dandruff, the neem oil, which has disinfectant properties, will help heal this also. EGGWHITES: Another option is to use some eggwhite mixed with lime juice. Put two eggwhites in a small jar or container with the fresh juice of one lime, mix together, and apply to your hair. Let it stay in your hair for a half hour, then wash the hair with neem soap. The egg-white will provide the scalp with the lacking protein, and the dandruff will soon disappear. FENUGREEK: Soak 2 tablespoons of fenugreek (Methi) seeds in water overnight. Grind it to make a paste and apply it on the scalp. After 20 minutes wash it off with shikakai or any other herbal shampoo. This is one of the oldest and most effective remedy in treating dandruff. BEET ROOT: Mix beetroot juice with a little ginger juice and apply on the scalp for 20 minutes and rinse it off. This helps in controlling dandruff. DIET: Healthy hair and scalp depend upon a nourishing diet. Lastly include fresh fruits, soups, salads, yogurt and sprouts in your diet and drink 10-12 glasses of water everyday. Avoid fried foods, spicy foods, Carbonated drinks and sweets as much as possible. Hope this helps.

Hello, you can resort to some natural remedies: GARLIC AND HONEY: The sulfur and selenium contained within garlic can help fortify the structure of the hair shaft, meaning it can not only help to replenish lost hair, but can strengthen existing hair as well. Extract the juice from a small head of garlic or about eight cloves. Do this by peeling each clove and using a garlic press to squeeze the juice from each clove. This should yield about one tablespoon of garlic juice. Blend this juice with an equal amount of honey. Apply this powerful mixture to your scalp and hair and leave it on for 20 minutes or more before rinsing out. This can be done two to three times per week or more often if you want. Use your fingers or a brush and start applying it onto your scalp with circular motions. This gentle massage increases the blood circulation, rejuvenates the hair, and stimulates hair growth. ONION JUICE: Onion is rich in sulfur. This mineral is one of the main building blocks of hair. Extract the juice of one onion and massage it into your scalp or cover the bald patches. Leave on for at least 15 minutes (longer if you can tolerate the smell) and then wash out using a mild shampoo. You can also add honey to the onion juice. CURRY LEAVES: Soak a handful of fresh curry leaves in plain water overnight. The next morning chew the curry leaves and follow it up with the water. Curry leaves will promote hair growth and give you that shiny, bushy and thick hair. ALOE VERA: To reduce pitta and preserve the health of your hair, drink Aloe Vera juice (⅓ cup preferably with a pinch of cumin) 3 times a day for about 3 months. You can also scrape out the gel from an aloe plant with a spoon, and apply to your hair and scalp (and face too). AMLA JUICE: Amla does wonders to the hair and is one of the best cures for baldness. Hello, Hair loss is a subtle metabolic disorder. It may be related to disease such as diabetes, for example, or following typhoid infection. It may be due to some fungal infection on the scalp, or to hormonal imbalance. A deficiency of calcium, magnesium, and zinc may affect the nourishment of the hair enough that the hair starts to fall out. And there is a definite hereditary factor, in which genes appear to trigger hair loss at a certain age. Pitta individuals, and those who have excess pitta in their system, are more likely than the other body types to lose their hair early in life, or to find that their hair becomes prematurely thin or gray. Excess pitta in the sebaceous gland, at the root of the hair, or folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicles) can make the person start losing hair. You can try some home remedies: ALOE VERA: To reduce pitta and preserve the health of your hair, drink Aloe Vera juice (⅓ cup preferably with a pinch of cumin) 3 times a day for about 3 months. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Mix one part of apple cider vinegar in one part of water. Apply the mixture on your scalp, massage gently and leave on for 5 minutes before washing off with a mild cleanser.

Hello, You seem to have high acid levels in your blood stream. No need to worry. You just need to pay special attention to your diet. Do not eat too much. Eat small meals and eat frequent snacks between meals. Eat mainly foods that seem to calm and not to aggravate the problem. Eat more alkaline (opposite of acidic) foods which help to restore the balance of your body. In general, to avoid an acidic state within your body, avoid foods that contain sugar, artificial sweeteners, gluten, refined grains, or dairy. Here’s a list of alkaline foods you should be eating more of: Fruits Vegetables Greens (spinach, broccoli, cucumbers) Avocado Beans Raw nuts Vegetable juices (carrot, beet) Sprouts (moong dal, chana, soy, alfalfa, broccoli sprouts etc.) Apple Cider Vinegar seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, flax, chia etc.) ALOE VERA GEL. Take 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel with a pinch of baking soda. This will have an immediate soothing effect. PAPAYA JUICE. For hyperacidity and indigestion, try drinking 1 cup papaya juice with 1 teaspoon organic sugar and 2 pinches cardamom. Hope this helps.

Hello, Anxiety, which often is associated with insomnia and feelings of fear, is due primarily to aggravation of vata dosha in the nervous system. So to heal anxiety, we have to balance vata. Here are several effective Ayurvedic remedies to pacify vata, heal anxiety and fear, and improve your sleep. CALMING TEA. Make a tea of the following herbs: tagar or valerian 1 part musta 1 part Steep ½ teaspoon of these herbs in 1 cup hot water for 5 to 10 minutes, and drink. This formula effectively pacifies vata and reduces anxiety. You can drink this tea twice a day. RELAXING BATH. A warm bath of ginger and baking soda will help you pacify anxiety. Use ⅓ cup ginger and ⅓ cup baking soda in a tubful of water. Soak for 10 to 15 minutes. ALMOND MILK. Almond milk helps to eliminate anxiety. Soak about 10 raw (not toasted) almonds overnight in water. Peel off the skins, and put the almonds in the blender. Add 1 cup warm milk. While blending, add a pinch of ginger and a small pinch of nutmeg and saffron. ORANGE JUICE. For anxiety accompanied by a fast heart rate, a cup of orange juice with 1 teaspoon of honey and a pinch of nutmeg powder can be effective. CALMING PRESSURE POINT. Make a fist with your left hand, so that the fingers rest in the middle of the palm. Locate the point where the middle finger ends, in the “heart” of the palm. Then, with the thumb of your right hand, press firmly on this point in the center of your left hand. Press for 1 minute. This will calm down the agitation of prana, which causes anxiety. Hope this helps.

Yes, PCOD can imbalance hormones and cause your libido to go down. Try some natural remedies: REDUCE STRESS: Breathe away stress by doing yoga and breathing exercises and meditation in the morning. Hope this helps.

Hello, TEA TREE OIL: Use tea tree oil facewash twice a day followed by tea tree toner and an oil free moisturizer. LEMON JUICE: Apply fresh lemon juice on your face with a cotton ball. Leave it on for around 10 minutes then rinse with cool water. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water and use the mixture as a toner. Apply on your face with a cotton swab. ALOE VERA: Aloe Vera has burn-relieving properties and can promote healing, fight infection, and even reduce scarring. Scrape out the gel from an aloe plant with a spoon, and apply to your face. HONEY AND CINNAMON: Add half teaspoon of cinnamon powder with 1 tablespoon of honey and apply on face. Leave it for an hour, or if possible leave it overnight. Then wash off. CHAMOMILE STEAM: Make 2 cups of chamomile tea and add fresh rose petals to it. Then take this soothing steam while it is still hot. (Put a bath towel over your head to prevent the steam from escaping) ORANGE & HONEY MASK: This mask provides a high bleaching effect. To prepare it, grate the zest of one orange and mix it with one tablespoon honey. Apply this paste on your clean skin. This mask not only whitens your skin, but it cleans the outer layer from dead skin cells.
