Hello Deepika! During Pregnancy you must take freshly prepared warm and easily digestible food. Increase intake of milk, pulses and egg/chicken/fish if you are a no vegetarian. For exercise there are many videos available online or CD's for Pregnancy exercise. But for one month so it with a trainer who is specialised in training Pregnant females.

Hello lybrate-user! The best remedy for you will be to take a decoction prepared from 1/2 tsp Ginger, 1/4 tsp Mulethi, pinch of Kali Mitch and 10-12 Tulsi leaves. Boil them in a glass of water till it is half. After that strain it and add sugar. Drink as a tea twice a day.

Hello Sumit! You should start giving her Nutrilite All Plant Protein 30gm per day and Nutrilite Tri-Iron Folic 1 tab a day with meals. Kindly get the products from a registered distributor only or you can also order it from us. No need to buy online. Was she taking Iron supplement initially also. If yes then check for type of Anaemia and consult a nearest doctor.

Hypothyroidism - Easy Ayurvedic Remedies For It!!

Almost all the metabolic processes in a person's body are influenced by the hormones produced by the thyroid gland. The most common types of thyroid diseases caused due to dysfunctional thyroid glands are- Thyroid nodules, Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, Goiter, Thyroiditis, and Thyroid Cancer. 

Hypothyroidism is when the thyroid gland is underactive and the amount of hormones produced is insufficient. Hypothyroidism can be caused due to multiple reasons such as iodine deficiency, radiation or surgery on the thyroid gland, and drugs such as lithium and phenylbutazone. 

You should note that treating thyroid is not a speedy process and a reoccurrence of symptoms might also take place. However with the appropriate remedies and proper diet control, one can make sure that these symptoms are less pronounced. 

Ayurveda:

According to Ayurveda, imbalance or disequilibrium in the doshas is the main cause of hypothyroidism. The Kapha dosha i.e. the dosha responsible for body fluids and lubrication, and Pitta dosha i.e. the dosha responsible for fire and water body humors, are vitiated. Lifestyle and diet discrepancies further promote imbalances in the doshas. 

Treatments:

  1. It is essential to consume adequate quantities of milk. 
  2. Apart from that, coconut oil is one of the best remedies for a hypothyroid patient, since it increases slow and sluggish metabolism. Coconut contains MCFAs i.e. medium chain fatty acids and MTCs i.e. Medium chain triglycerides in abundance which help the metabolism be revved up. 
  3. Ayurvedic herbs useful for treating hypothyroidism are- kanchanara, Bauhinia variegata i.e. purple mountain ebony, Jatamansi, brahmi, guggulu, shilajita, gokshura, and punarnava. 

Remedies:

  1. Consume a mixture of Indian gooseberry i.e. amla and churnam with honey, daily before breakfast. 
  2. One of the main causes of Hypothyroidism is insufficient amount of iodine. Drinking the juice acquired from jalakumbhi i.e. Pistia Stratiotes everyday in dozes amounting from 11gm to 22gm increases the iodine content and helps treat hypothyroidism. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ayurveda.

Use condoms to avoid any infection due to intercourse as many medicines are restricted during pregnancy. 3. Try to reduce the frequency of intercourse. 4. Wash vagina before and after intercourse.

Sleeping disorders have become a prominent problem these days. A combination of diet and lifestyle practices is responsible for it. A good night's sleep is necessary for the body in order to nourish the mind and the overall health. Ayurveda identifies sleep problems as a resultant cause of pitta and vata. Loss of sound sleep can cause lethargy, tiredness, and depression. Here is a list of Ayurvedic tips that can effectively tackle the sleep problem and help a person sleep like a baby at night:

  1. Meditation: Meditation is a very effective way of dealing with anxiety and stress. It relaxes the body and calms the mind. In order to do this, a person is required to sit firmly rooted in a quite ambiance and focus on the crown of the head. The focus should be on the rhythm of exhalation and inhalation. While maintaining the breath, the inhalation and exhalation should be continued till 15 minutes. If the mind wanders, slowly counting 1 to 100 and counting back to 0 can help to focus. It should be ensured that a person is concentrating on the breath and refraining from sleeping. Meditating regularly can dramatically help to get proper sleep during the night.
  2. Yoga: Yoga is an age old practice that effectively helps a person in relaxing his/her mind and does away with all the stress. Some of the effective yoga poses that assist in sleeping better include savasana and corpse. They help to relax the nervous system, cut down emotional stress and help to reduce fatigue. Each pose should be practiced for 5-10 seconds in a set of 4. Yoga has notably helped millions of people in sleeping well at night.
  3. Pranayama: Pranayama is part of yoga which focuses on breathing techniques. As per yoga techniques, there are three stages of breathing. The first part involves the diaphragm moving backward into the abdomen that helps the lungs to draw oxygen for its lower portion. The next is the turn of the intercostal muscle to expand in order to get oxygen for the middle portion of the lungs. The upper portion of the lungs gets oxygen, at last, causing the clavicles to rise a little. A slow inhale and exhale for a stretch of 15 minutes is what pranayama is all about. It is known to be mighty effective for relaxing the nervous system and getting a good sleep at night.
  4. Herbs: Certain herbs such as passionflower, skullcap and chamomile are known to be extremely effective to soothe the nerves and assist in sound sleep. They can be consumed by making a paste on a daily basis. Even oil massage with Brahmi oil is very helpful for a sound sleep at night. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ayurveda.

Hello Nirali! Increase intake of Proteins in your diet. You can include milk and milk products like dahi, paneer etc. Include sprouts, kalachana, and egg if you are non vegetarian. For cleaning scalp use mild shampoos and conditioner that doesn't cause dryness in the scalp. You can also order shampoo and conditioner from us.

Hello Kamal! You have to take balanced diet. In every meal include a Katori of Daal, One katori vegetable, one katori Dahi and one katori salad. Choose food items which are easily digestible as in pregnancy constipation, gas and acidity are a common problem. Increase intake of Milk, Kassi nd other healthy liquids. You can take Imli there is no harm in that.
