Dr.N.P.Kamalesh is a well-known Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic surgeon in PVS Memorial Hospital, Cochin. He has graduated from Coimbatore Medical College in the year 1997. He subsequently completed his surgical training from Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, Chennai and obtained his Masters’ degree in surgery - MS (Gen Surgery) in the year 2003. He then joined Apollo Hospitals, Colombo for a period of 3 years, during which time he intensified his surgical skills and had been to UK for short term training courses at premier centers in the UK.  
In the year 2007 Dr.Kamalesh joined the highly professional and skilled team of gastrointestinal surgeons in PVS Institute of Diseases in PVS Memorial Hospital, Cochin. He has gained extensive first-hand experience in assisting and performing high end and complex gastroesophageal, liver and pancreatic and colonic surgeries during this period. During this period he completed his training in gastrointestinal surgery under the auspices of the National Board of India and obtained the DNB (Gastrointestinal surgery) in PVS memorial Hospital. Dr.Kamalesh gained excellent proficiency in performing advanced laparoscopic surgeries and has performed a large number of complex laparoscopic procedures including colectomy for colonic cancer and other esophagogastric  surgeries. 
To add one more feather to his professional expertise he was also conferred the Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery - FMAS, which highlights his supreme competency in performing laparoscopic surgery. He has completed his training in advanced hepatobiliary surgery and Liver Transplantation in Asan Medical Center, South Korea, Asia’s leading center in Liver transplantation and Hepatobiliary surgery.  This has made him a proficient surgeon when it comes to operating on complex Liver, gall bladder, biliary tract and pancreatic diseases.    Dr.Kamalesh was a part of the Liver Transplant team in Apollo Indraprastha Hospitals, New Delhi. This center performs close to 300 Living Donor Liver Transplants per year and is one of the pioneers of Liver Transplant Surgery in India and Asia. And now he is an important member of the Liver Transplant team in PVS Memorial Hospital. He has been awarded the prestigious degree of FACS – Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons recently 
Dr.Kamalesh is an enthusiastic academician, and keeps upto date with the latest and exciting developments in his field of expertise. He has many publications to his credit and has presented various papers and interesting surgical videos at various conferences across the nation.
