I always brush my teeth. BIt still my teeth colour is yellow. please suggest me what can I do.
Generally fair people have yellow teeth. If its natural nothing can be done but if it is due to excessive brushing then its abrasion. If it is because of plaque accumulation then you should go for a professional cleaning at a dental clinic. And if you are not happy with your shade if the teeth even after that, you can always go for laminates and veneers option.

Hi I have problems with my teeth Recently, I had two lower left molar teeth of mine starting to chip piece by piece. I got the root canal treatment and capped both after which one more lower right molar chipped a month ago which I got fixed with a filling. Now today, one more upper molar tooth chipped in between the side surface. When I ask the dentist why is that happening, they do not even bother to reply and I have asked three dentist about that. Is there any dentist out there who can tell what's going on. Follow with me up for any more questions you have. Help me.

If the tooth breaks, have the tooth contoured. Fill the crack in. Place a crown on your tooth. If the tooth has been badly damaged and the nerve or pulp is exposed, the dentist may have to perform a root canal to save the tooth. To prevent cracking of tooth, avoid chewing on hard objects. Avoid grinding your teeth. Wear a mouthguard when playing sports. Poor oral hygiene will weaken teeth and make them more susceptible to damage. Composite bonding is a way to repair chipped teeth.

No Brushing Off: 5 Common Brushing Mistakes You Make Daily

While you might think that you are on track by brushing twice a day, but just doing that may not be enough. If your technique is not right or if you are using the wrong type of toothbrush, you are making your teeth vulnerable to infections and decay.

Here are the common brushing mistakes that can harm your teeth:

1. You do not brush long enough

The single most common mistake that people make while brushing is not brushing long enough. If you want to thoroughly clean your teeth, you should brush for almost 2 minutes. Experts suggest that most of the people with gum diseases did not brush their teeth for sufficient amount of time. Try using an electric toothbrush with a timer to ensure that you brush for 2 minutes.

2. You miss the important sites

Missing important areas of your mouth while brushing your teeth is also a common brushing mistake. Brushing should involve devoting an equal amount of time to all areas, targeting the inside, outside and chewing surfaces of your teeth, along with your gums, tongue and the roof of your mouth. Most people do not think consciously while brushing, making it easy to skip the vulnerable sites.

3. You use too much of paste

Using too much of toothpaste will not make your teeth cleaner. On the contrary, it might make you brush for a shorter span since too much of foam in your mouth can make you uncomfortable. For children, a small swipe on a toothbrush is enough and for adults, a pea-sized or marble-sized amount is more than sufficient.

4. You brush too hard

You may think that the more pressure you apply while brushing, the better it is. But that is not the case. Aggressive brushing can actually cause the gum tissue to come away from your teeth, leading to swollen gums and even bleeding. It can also result in tooth sensitivity or even loose teeth. Experts recommend that you should use a soft bristled toothbrush. Soft bristles tend to be gentle on your teeth and will flex more under the gum line, which leads to a more thorough cleaning.

5. Your technique is wrong

Brushing your teeth is not a race that you need to finish in time. By taking long, crude and haphazard sweeps back and forth, you are only going to harm your teeth. Concentrate instead on small areas at a time and brush gently in a circular motion. When you are at the gum line, remember to keep your bristles at an angle of 45 degrees and always brush away from the gums.

So, it is high time you change these brushing habits and adopt healthy dental practices for plaque free and healthy gums and teeth. Stay healthy, stay happy!

I have pain at my jaw joints, its hard for me to close or open my mouth any solutions for that.

Hi, pain in jaw joint at a young age should be treated as early as possible. Get a dental check up as irregular teeth, improper bite or improper chewing pattern can cause that. Also get an opg done so that we can view all teeth and both jaw joints. Meanwhile, have soft food and don't check for pain by repeating jaw movements. Take a painkiller tablet for temporary relief. Visit an oral medicine specialist or an oral surgeon for complete treatment. Regards.

Which is the best mouth wash available in India, I heard some mouth washes which contain alcohol leads to oral cancer, Presently I'm using listerine.

Most of them don't have alcohol they r chlorehexadine or iodine based , excessive use of every thing may b bad

I am chewing tobacco for more than 15years now these days I am feeling difficulties during eating something my mouth doesn't open fully .

I think you might be developing a condition called Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSMF). This is considered a precursor stage to frank Oral Cancer. Please quit your tobacco as well as alcohol (if present) habits, immediately and completely. Do not use supaari or eat paan either. Avoid spicy foods. As for the reduced mouth opening, do start active and aggressive physiotherapy which would need to be continued lifelong. For additional treatment, please see an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon.

If the mouth ulcer is causing a lot of pain, gently rub a small ice cube over the spot or rinse your mouth with ice-cold water. You could also chew on a clove bud (lavang) and direct the juice generated to the area where the ulcer is located. Clove buds are a great ingredient to cure sore throat too. To prevent the ulcerated area from getting infected, make it a point to rinse your mouth with a little salt water. Remember, this won’t make the ulcer disappear, but it can help reduce the pain. Honey is a natural humectant. It helps reduce scarring and hastens the process of new tissue growth. This, along with its anti-microbial effect ensures faster healing of the mouth ulcer. Chew a few leaves of tulsi along with some water about three to four times every day. This will help in getting rid of ulcers faster and also have a preventive action against their recurrence. Applying a little coconut oil directly onto the mouth ulcer or chewing some coconut (fresh or dry) helps reduce pain and inflammation and hence, ulcers heal faster. Mix some sugar to crushed khus-khus seeds and consume this mixture for instant relief from ulcers. You could apply a little ghee directly to the ulcerated area, or drink a glass of buttermilk two or three times every day. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Make it a point to see a doctor soon because often, a painless mouth ulcer is one of the earliest signs of oral cancer.

Get scalling done by dentist. Use proper brushing techniques. Brush, floss n use mouthwash twice daily. Massage your gums with your finger tips after brushing. Keep your tongue clean. Rinse your mouth well after each meal. Visit your dentist for dental checkups every 6 months to detect n prevent dental probs. Get your decay teeth filled by dentist. Avoid oily food, garlic, raw onions. You can chew a mint often. Bad breath can also b due to digestion prob n acidity, cold n other respiratory prob. Once your dental probs r cleared consult a physician if your bad breath still exists.
