I have seizures problem for past seven years it can't stopped it comes in the morning 2 to 3 time in a few sec 2 or 3 sec I am taking tablets regular can you please give me suggestion for stop seizures.

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
The term epilepsy covers a group of disorders of brain function characterized by sudden attacks (seizures). The seizures are commonly labeled grand or petit mal. Conventional treatment attempts to subdue or suppress the seizures with sedatives but offers no cure. Homeopathy offers a cure in 2-5 years depending on the severity of the case. We have many complete cures where the patient remains seizure free after being slowly weaned off the conventional drugs. The return of eeg readings to normal confirms the success of homeopathic treatment. Please note that while many cases of epilepsy reslove under homeopathic treatment it can often take a year or so for the seizures to stop.

Insomnia and Depression - Is There A Link Between Them?

Insomnia and Depression - Is There A Link Between Them?

In today’s stressful environment, more and more people are being diagnosed with psychological disorders such as insomnia and depression. Neither of the two are things which people feel lucky to possess. However, it is interesting to note that there is a link between the two conditions. Also, the problems are a lot more common than a person is likely to first think; 80% of depressed people suffer from chronic insomnia!

For a long time until recently, many people were of the opinion that most depressed people were insomniac. But that is not really correct. The two issues do overlap to a large extent, but they are different from each other. Again, that does not mean one cannot affect the other.

When a person has depression, one of the main things that he or she can experience is a lack of pleasure from the activities and happenings which occur in his or her daily life. Similarly, when a person does not get enough sleep or even just cannot sleep, he or she is quite likely to display a tendency to worry. Often, worrying sets the stage for depression to develop in the person. In fact, doctors have observed that people who do not sleep enough are more likely to undergo treatment for depression than the others.

Recent findings have concluded that when a person sleeps better, the case of depression also shows an uptick. In addition to this, the habit of sleeping well can also go quite a long way to make sure that a person does not relapse into depression. According to some sleep therapies, people who suffer from lack of sleep are advised to follow a systematic routine of getting to bed and getting out of bed. Activities including reading in bed or watching TV after going to bed must be avoided. While there are various means to help a person sleep better, the choice as to which one would suit a person in the best possible way is only best decided by the person’s personal doctor. What is for sure is the fact that a person can effectively sleep to a better life!

So, it can be said that if a person wants to cure his/her depression and enjoy life being peppy, napping away is not such a bad idea after all. Having said that, everything is good only up to a certain limit!

I'm having sleep paralysis from time to time, please tell any remedy, its really scary.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
It is harmless and medicines are not useful Tips for improving your sleeping habits include: creating a restful sleeping environment that's quiet, dark and not too hot or cold ensuring your bed is comfortable exercising regularly (but not too close to bedtime) cutting down on caffeine not eating or drinking alcohol before bedtime giving up smoking (if you smoke) because nicotine is a stimulant

Is there any permanent remedy for migraine? Can it be prevented for whole life if treated once?

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
No, migraine cannot be cured. Avoid triggers. If certain foods or odors seem to have triggered your migraines in the past, avoid them. Reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake and avoid tobacco. In general, establish a daily routine with regular sleep patterns and regular meals. In addition, try to control stress. Exercise regularly. Regular aerobic exercise reduces tension and can help prevent migraines. If your doctor agrees, choose any aerobic exercise you enjoy, including walking, swimming and cycling. Warm up slowly, however, because sudden, intense exercise can cause headaches. Obesity is also thought to be a factor in migraine headaches, and regular exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight or lose weight.

Please note the following for your condition: • Avoid big meals late in the evening. You need three to four hours to digest a big meal. • Spicy or sugary food, even at suppertime, is usually a bad idea. Spices can irritate your stomach, and when it tosses and turns, so will you. Having a lot of sugary food—especially chocolate, which contains caffeine—can make you feel jumpy. • Try a soothing aromatic bath before bedtime. Add 5 drops lavender oil and 3 drops ylang-ylang oil to warm bathwater and enjoy a nice soak.

Hii this kind of pain and numbness could be due to carpal tunnel syndrome in which a nerve called median nerve is compressed under a sheath in the wrist. This usually occurs more at night and certain position of wrist. You should get done certain tests to know the cause. Like Nerve conduction studies. Sugar levels, thyroid profile, rheumatoid factor. Yes there are treatments. Medications for milder cases, wrist splint and physiotherapy. Cold compresses etc. For moderate cases steroid injections in the wrist. Severe cases may need surgery.

Do I have dyslexia I always have writing and reading problem I am 20 what should I do?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
At your age you can identify the particular words that pose a problem to you and then write those words down and articulate the letters and the words they form just as a young kid would do; and you will register an audio-visual memory of those particular words to gradually develop an audio-visual impression and memory of the same. It will be even more useful to write the meanings of those words and relate to them as well. You could sing the words and meanings to make a lasting impression. But you should not rush all the methods at once to learn quicker: it will only confuse you and make it even more difficult, and will lead to frustration. In a more advanced situation you can print index cards of those words and learn to memorize them in the same fashion as mentioned above. As time goes by you may get audio books and listen to them often but always in an atmosphere conducive to good listening. If you wish you could also get the help of reading teachers who will professionally take you from simple material to higher material as you advance in the learning program. The audio mode of learning is slower than the visual mode but speed is not an immediate objective, comprehension and word recognition is. It will be a long process but if you are determined, it will be rewarding. You could have benefited from an earlier intervention, like in childhood, if they had noticed and acted then. Please remember that your intelligence is not in question. So it is up to your commitment, sincerity and above all perseverance.

Guillain-Barré syndrome is an acute illness which is caused by inflammation of peripheral nerves leading to loss of sensation, muscle weakness and, in more serious cases, complete paralysis and breathing difficulty. In almost eighty per cent of children these symptoms follow a recent illness (usually viral). This infection is thought to trigger a faulty response in the immune system. It has been clinically observed that homeopathy helps cases of GB Syndrome. It seems to help by correcting the altered immune system. The medicines are very effective in treating the residual symptoms of Guillain-Barré syndrome. Muscle weakness and power in the limbs can be corrected. In the acute stage, in cases of danger of respiratory paralysis, allopathic medicines have an advantage, but for the residual neuro-muscular symptoms, Homeopathic medicines are highly effective and strongly recommended. Autism

Autism is the most common condition in a group of developmental disorders known as the autism spectrum disorders (asds). Autism is characterized by impaired social interaction, problems with verbal and nonverbal communication, and unusual, repetitive, or severely limited activities

Autistic children have difficulties with social interaction, problems with verbal and nonverbal communication, and repetitive behaviors and narrow obsessive interests.

Children with autism may fail to respond to their name and often avoid eye contact with other people. They have difficulty interpreting what others are thinking or feeling because they can’t understand social cues, such as tone of voice or facial expressions, and don’t watch other people’s faces for clues about appropriate behavior. They often lack empathy and engage in repetitive movements such as rocking and twirling, they also tend to start speaking later than other children and may refer to themselves by name instead of “i” or “me.” children with autism don’t know how to play interactively with other children. Some speak in a sing-song voice about a narrow range of favorite topics, with little regard for the interests of the person to whom they are speaking. Many children with autism have a reduced sensitivity to pain, but are abnormally sensitive to sound, touch, or other sensory stimulation. These unusual reactions may contribute to behavioral symptoms.

My half face have paralysis. I do lot of thing for treatment. BT I ntng find. Any medicine. What I do.

MSc in Orhopedic Physiotherapy (UK), BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Bangalore
Often, no treatment is needed for facial palsy. Symptoms often begin to improve right away. However, it may take weeks or even months for the muscles to get stronger. You can try physiotherapy treatment to help progress their recovery. Physiotherapy treatment for facial palsy may consist of facial massage, exercises, and electrical stimulation. Most cases go away completely within a few weeks to months. If you did not lose all of your nerve function and symptoms began to improve within 3 weeks, you're more likely to regain all or most of the strength in your facial muscles. Best wishes.
