My hand are very cold in winter. That why the joint of my hand are black. What should I do?
First of all, avoid friction. Do not rest your elbows on surfaces. Avoid scrubbing elbows, knees. Do not use tight clothing. Do not use perfumes, deos and roll ons over the neck. You can use an antiperspirant powder. You can use a homeremedy of sugar, honey and lemon juice over the dark areas for fifteen minutes and wash it off.

Symptoms Of Heart Attack!

MBBS, Master of Surgery - General Surgery, Magistrar Chirurgiae (Cardio-Thoracic Surgery)
Cardiologist, Faridabad
Symptoms Of Heart Attack!

Heart attack or myocardial infarction mostly occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked due to one or more reasons. The most prominent reason could be high fat or cholesterol that results in plaque build up in the coronary artery. The restricted blood flow has the potential to damage or even destroy the heart muscle. Some of the symptoms that can be helpful when it comes to the identification of a heart attack are listed below.

1. Discomfort in the Chest - Your chest may feel tight and pressured when you are about to be hit by a heart attack. Pain or discomfort in the chest is usually central typically felt behind the sternum, the central bone of chest. It may not be pain, it may be only discomfort, it may only be in upper part of tummy, very commonly confused with a gas problem. It is often accompanied by a painful sensation in the chest or arms. If a chest pain lasts more than 15-20 min it can be assumed to be a heart attack. This aching sensation may even spread to your back, neck or jaw.

2. Feeling of inconvenience - Often before the heart attack, the person may have feelings of nausea, ingestion, abdominal pain or a heartburn.

3. Breathing problems - Another prominent symptom of heart attack is shortness of breath which is accompanied by cold sweat and fatigue.

Emergency Measure:

If you think you are getting a heart attack, you should immediately take one tablet of Aspirin (preferably chew aspirin if possible), 4 tablets of a drug called Clopidogrel, and one tablet of Atorvastatin 80 mg and rush to the nearest possible medical facility as time is very important in the treatment of an acute heart attack. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Cardiologist.

I have been having this constant recurring negative thoughts since couple of months. I cannot focus at anything. I have developed a habit of being at comfort zone. Likewise my interactive skills are vastly deteriorating and my mind goes blank while talking with people. I am even afraid to do basic things like going out for shopping, utility bill payment, etc. I also feel that someone is watching. Nd if someone laughs at their own matter I feel like they are laughing at me. Last year I was diagnosed with chronic depression and went through cbt and felt okay for around 4-5 months but all of a sudden I started having panic attacks and so on as I described above. Please tell me am I going mad?

5 Ways to Prevent Skin Conditions in Athletes!

MBBS, MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Delhi
5 Ways to Prevent Skin Conditions in Athletes!

Given their nature of work, athletes are at an increased risk of acquiring skin infections. These infections can lead to serious consequences if they are left untreated. Here are 5 ways in which skin conditions in athletes can be prevented.

  1. Keeping the bruises clean and covered - It is important for you to keep the cuts and scrapes clean as well as covered with bandages until they heal because such openings in the skin weaken its defence against germs and increase the possibility of infections.
  2. Taking care of the blisters - Make sure that you prevent blisters as much as you can because they make your skin susceptible to infections. Use gels, sprays, ice pads etc. and try to avoid getting sunburnt to prevent dangerous skin conditions.
  3. Be mindful of what you wear - It is important for athletes to wear moisture-wicking clothes because sweat, if not made to dry, can lead to growth of germs that can cause a number of skin diseases and infections. Also, not wearing foot wear outside the field can lead to infections on the feet.
  4. Maintaining good hygiene - Take a shower after every practice session and game using an antimicrobial soap. Besides, use a clean towel and avoid sharing your personal care items like razor, soap etc. with other athletes. This is extremely important in order to reduce the risk of bacterial infection
  5. Disinfect all your equipment and go for skin checkups - Make sure that you disinfect all your equipment like the protective gear, gloves, socks etc. after every use. Also, get regular skin checkups done, especially if you are associated with high-risk sports like wrestling, boxing etc. There is an increased possibility of skin injuries, sores, swelling etc. in athletes associated with such sports, which exposes them to a greater risk of skin conditions.

So, disinfection and clinical checkups on a regular basis become all the more important for them. Ensure to see a dermatologist if the problem persists or aggravates.

It takes about 8 weeks for internal stitches to heal, means the wound must be deep, even if stitched from outside but the needle along with thread passes through deeper areas. Heat therapy will help you become normal quicker.

Ensure that you are taking the right dose of thyroid supplements. You can reduce weight by a combination of diet and exercise. Reduce high calorie foods like samosa, parathas, crisps, sweets, eggs and mutton. Regularly do brisk walking for 30 minutes in the morning and evening. Skipping, yoga, swimming are all useful. It usually takes about 6 months to return to pre-pregnancy weight if you adhere to a strict regime.

My wife had a baby boy after a caesarean surgery. The cause was not opening the uterus and low amniotic fluid. Would ...
No, 2nd delivery can be normal unless there was anatomical reason in the pelvic bone which does not seem to be the case. Reason for operation this time was mouth of uterus not opening + less amniotic. The doctor will have to monitor her all through 1st stage of labor from starting labor pains till delivery to avoid risk of stitches getting broken (very rare these days) or distrss to baby. But it will take up to 12 hours like for 1st normal delivery. Do give a gap of at least 1 year for 2nd child. More is the gap, more are chances of a normal delivery. Average rate of operative delivery is only 10% but with previous operative delivery the chances are reduced to 50%, still it is worth giving a try.

My face has too oily. Especially my nose and forehead. What should I do? PLEASE help me?

Master in Psychology, MD - Ayurveda, Dems, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda,
My face has too oily. Especially my nose and forehead. What should I do? PLEASE help me?
Foods To Eat For Oily Skin: 1. Fiber: Fiber absorbs the essential nutrients and flushes out toxins from the body. Eating high-fiber foods like brown bread, oats, corn and citrus fruits boosts the skin’s texture and gives you clean, healthy-looking skin. 2. Water: There can be no miracle other than water. Water is known to be a cleansing agent and flushes out all toxins from the body. Drinking lots of water throughout the day hydrates your body and makes the skin look and feel fresh. Pure water is better than any other beverage. 3. Cucumbers: It is a fact that cucumber is made of 95 percent water. It has anti-oxidant properties and rehydrates the skin. It has a cooling effect on the skin and helps you achieve clean, fresh-looking healthy skin. For the best effect on your skin, try eating them raw. 4. Grapefruit Grapefruit is rich in fiber and water content. It is also rich in Vitamin C which helps in flushing out the toxins from your body. For best results, eat grapefruit or the juice without sugar. 5. Omega 3 Fatty acids: For healthy skin opt for foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids as these have anti-inflammatory properties. Avocados, soya bean, nuts, tuna and salmon are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids.
