Carotid Angioplasty is usually combined with placing a small metal coil called stent in clogged artery. Carotid Angioplasty And Stenting Treatment is suggested if traditional carotid surgery is not possible or too risky to perform. Right candidate for Carotid Angioplasty and Stenting Treatment Carotid Artery Disease / Carotid Endarterectomy is a highly effective treatment to prevent a recurrent or first stroke. Your Cardiologist' recommendation for the treatment is based on various factors, including the risk of complications, medical history and the severity and location of blockages present in the carotid arteries. This treatment is individualised and not all patients will be offered the same treatment recommendations.
