firstly have a control over your diet, the best exercise is start doing "squats" 20 squats of 5 sets= 100 squats a day, if you find it difficult then start with 50 squats, get your thigh massage so that if their is any stiffness it can be losen, if possible contact any gym for sauna bath, never use hot belts, walk as much as you can, wear two tight inners and then your pajama and then walk, in summers also it will create more sweats and more fat will be burned.

If eating more fills you up too much, try drinking your calories. Milk, 100-percent fruit juice and homemade smoothies add calories between meals. Whiz up a high-calorie smoothie containing a whole banana, frozen yogurt, milk, juice and nut butter or flax seed in your own kitchen. Include dried milk powder or protein powder to boost the calorie count of plain milk. Avoid drinking copious amounts of beverages with meals, though. The liquid creates temporary feelings of fullness in your stomach so you may eat less solid, calorie-containing food. Save drinks for before, after and between meals.

Hello lybrate-user, health is defined as a relaxed mind and fit body. Its a holistic approach of well balanced diet, physical activity for 30-40 mins 3-4 days/week preferably weight training and rest of 8-10 hours. All foods included in your diet should be power packed i. E giving you many nutrients and calories, also it should be high on proteins so as to help you in gaining muscle mass for better health and immunity. Examples-banana/mango/chickoo milkshakes with honey and nuts, paneer stuffed sandwiches/parathas, chikkis of peanuts/chana to be stocked with you as this can be conveniently had anywhere, dryfruits and mixed nuts. Overeating would harm more than help as it would lead to burning excess calories to use the food eaten leading to wastage of energy and in the bargain you might lose weight. If you have tried all of it then you can consult your doctor and undergo a check-up for any hormonal imbalances.

Eating three meals a day, no matter whats in them, isn't going to help you bulk up. Your body burns calories fast, so you need to feed it more than it can use up right away. That means eating not just when you're hungry, but throughout the day. Aim to eat five meals a day to gain weight. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Water will help your body process the extra protein and calories you? re taking in. Drink several glasses with every meal to avoid getting dehydrated. Since you? re probably also going to be exercising more to gain mass, aim to drink 10 glasses of water every day you can also drink unsweetened tea, fruit juice, and other healthy beverages avoid drinking gatorade and other sports drinks in excessive amounts, since they contain a lot of sugar. Focus on protein, fats and carbohydrates. These are the three staples that will help you gain weight, and you need plenty of each of them to stay healthy. Focus on incorporating protein, fats and carbohydrates into every meal you eat so your diet stays balanced. Here are some examples of good choices in each category proteins: eggs, salmon, tuna, and other fish;, and ham; chicken breasts and thighs; lean and steaks? fats: olive oil, safflower oil, coconut oil, and grapeseed oil; avocados, walnuts, almonds, flaxseeds? carbohydrates: fruits and vegetables; beans, lentils, peas; brown rice, whole grain bread, whole grain pasta and other whole grain products; honey and fruit juice. For ayurvedic medicine consult, in 1 month weight increase 4-5 kg no side effect you take 1 month trial pack and course is for 3 months.

Please get a complete body check done through any good lab. Lethargic feeling could be due to various reasons 1. Lack of haemoglobin 2. Sugar problem 3. Thyroid. Or many more. Issue will be clear only after your tests. Other than that you should do intense exercise for 60 mins daily. That will boost your physical and mental energy. It will add spark to your life and make you fit and young.

I am 19 year old and my body is fat I have to become thin so have any medical advice which we can do at home.

I am 19 year old and my body is fat I have to become thin so have any medical advice which we can do at home.
Firstly start eating Triphla chooran in morning with luke warm water empty stomach. Secondly note down the below points to gain benefits: Naturopathy believes that Mother Nature has every remedy for our problems, it believes in preventing the problem instead of just curing it. I am suggesting you some simple lifestyle changing tips that will not just make your body proportionate and give you a desired shape but will also help you obtain a healthy body. You can come over it very easily due to your determination. 1. Make sure you are walking at least 5000 steps every day. It is strongly recommended that you start with a jogging regime. Buy a pedometer to check how much step you walk, its a cheap gadget available in medical shops. 2. You should avoid late night dinners at any cost and make sure you are following a routine while having 3 main course foods of the day. 3. Eat handfull of roasted almond every day. 4. Try having your dinner before sunset and not eat anything heavy after sunset this will surely help you to lose your weight. 5. Try to sleep before 11: 00 P. M. And sleep for minimum 6 to 8 hours. Lack of sleep is also a leading factor of weight gain. 6. Avoid processed food, sugar and its products as well as refined oil/double refined oil. Use pure oil of mustard (sarso), peanut, coconut, cow ghee, sesame. 7. Start doing surya namaskar, its more than a weight loss exercise. From improving your posture, strengthening muscles to whittling extra inches around the waist, the benefits of Suryanamaskar are many, provided you adapt it the right way. A set of 12 fixed, cyclic postures define Suryanamaskar which when performed repeatedly at an easy pace can bring a sense of well being, almost immediately. However, those with a heart condition, arthritis or slip-disk, need their doctor's consent before starting the routine. 8. In the morning start consuming lukewarm water right after you wake up & sitting in sukhasaan (chaukdi) it is advisable to even do rinsing with the lukewarm water in your mouth and drink sip by sip instead of drinking quickly. This process is done for the detoxification and cleaning of your stomach/intestines that has everything to with your weight issues. After this your stomach condition will remain intact at pH7 (which is not alkaline or acidic in nature but normal). 9. Another advice is that don’t drink water after your meals (lunch, dinner, breakfast, or any mini meal). Drink water after 90 minutes. Drinking water after your meals reduces your digestion, and as you know if food is not digested it will produce acid, which in turn will increase your weight. Drinking water during or after meals can bring almost 103 types of disease in your body. Thanks:

Extract Benefit From 2015 Monsoons In These 4 Ways

Extract Benefit From 2015 Monsoons In These 4 Ways
4 ways to benefit from monsoon season

Monsoon is that delightful time when the weather finally takes a positive turn and we are relieved of the scorching heat. Along with the easily visible temperature change, monsoon brings a number of changes which can have an increasingly positive impact on our health.

Read on to find out four effective ways to make the best of this season:

1. Train your brain - it has been proven that a walk amidst nature is the most effective way to increase brain function. Monsoon season provides an ideal temperature for you to go out for a stroll to your nearby park or street and this can do a lot of good to your brain. Such walks have been found to increase both memory and focus to a considerable extent.

2. Indulge in outdoor activities - it is almost impossible to step out for exercises during the sweltering summer months as it can cause severe dehydration of the body. However, autumn brings a considerable temperature decrease with it and is the perfect time to indulge in healthy outdoor activities such as cycling, running, hiking etc.

3. Utilize the extra sunlight - autumn grants us one extra hour of sunlight and you should make the most of it. Exposing your body to the sun for a time period of 10-15 minutes on a daily basis can effectively cover the amount of vitamin d required by the body.

4. Consume seasonal fruits - a number of healthy fruits are available in autumn such as apples, which are packed with vitamin a and are extremely beneficial for eye, hair and skin health. Moreover, pumpkin and squash are other fruits which are rich sources of beta carotene and thus help in building immunity against diseases such as cancer and hypertension.

I am 16 years old and my weight is just 45 kgs I need to grow up weight what should I do to improve my body growth.
For all those who want to put on weight are suggested to keep distance from junk foods which are not healthy for the body, since they are surely going add weight to the body but at the same time they also are said to add bad fat to the body. Go only with the foods which are said to increase nutrient intake for the body and provide with sufficient energy, some of these foods have been listed below for simplicity: Salmon Tuna Paneer Soya beans Soya paneer-tofu Eggs Shrimps Granola bars Cheese Paneer Yoghurt Walnuts Dates Apricots Anjeer Raisins Nuts and oil seeds Peanut butter Chicken breast Gaining weight is not an excuse to get fat and schedule daily visits to all-you-can buffets. I suggest you begin implementing one principle each week and watch your body stack on more muscle to your frame each week.

If the weight gain has increased drastically without making any evident change in food and other physical activities. I recommended you to get your thyroid levels checked. Still for basic weight loss to be achieved maintains a balanced diet of not more than 1500 calories per day. 1. Refined sugars in coffee and tea should be completely stopped, shift to multigrain chapatti instead of only wheat based and have more complex crabs in your snacks time like roasted grain and salads. 2.2serving of fruits should be included but keep the serving size maximum to 1 at one time. 3. Include 1-2 portions of proteins in form of tofu, paneer, sprouts and oat meals daily in the evening time to manage the intake of carbohydrates after 7: 30 pm. 4. Maintain a good balanced of carbohydrates, fats and protein to the ratio and include a cardio session of 45 mins daily for at least 5 days a week to maintain a good health overall.

I won't recommend you to take steroids at all. It may lead to disastrous side effects. Go for healthy foods and natural supplements. There are many hearbal extracts in our ayurveda which are equally good for body building.

Hello, some people avoid exercise in hope to gain calories. It 'a not healthy habit being lazy doesn't mean you will gain weight in a healthy way. Do regular exercise. Stop eating junk and processed food. Take 2 banana with warm milk in the morning. Include protein rich food in your diet like soyabean, sattu with milk, sprouts, combination of cereal and pulses. No drinks before and with meals. Take small meals in frequent intervals. You can consult me privately online on Lybrate I will give you diet chart.

Hi Doc. please suggest me a pure veggie food that I can eat after gym which is healthy and help in recovering energy but low in calories.

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hye thanks for the query. Why are specific about low calories? it's more about the right nutrients at the right time. During the first one to two hours after your workout, you should eat a meal rich in carbohydrates and protein. The carbohydrates will help replenish your energy, and the protein will help rebuild muscle that has been broken down during your workout, especially if you are doing resistance training. Examples of post-workout meals include dal /paneer with rice and cooked vegetables or an egg sandwich or egg roll or whole-grain bread or roti with light chutney and vegetables. Immediately within 15 minutes of workout you can whip up a protein shake using milk fruits and nuts to refuel your body. Sip the mixture slowly and then follow it with a glass of water to ensure hydration. You can also take paneer, fruit, boiled egg, sprouts, curd or home made nutrition bars.

Dear Lybrate User, 1. Shifting to Vegetarian Food does not guarantee weight loss. 2. Shifting to a low calorie simple diet can help you with weight loss. You should work at reducing 2-3 kgs per month, so that in one year you can be fit and healthy. 3. Metabolism slowing down can cause one or two Kgs weight gain at max. 4. As per your height and weight your BMI is 35 which means you are in Obese Class 2 category. 5. It implies you have to take immediate steps to improve your health and reduce your weight else your weight can cause other health problems. 6. You should get a complete health checkup done so that in case there are any health issues they can be identified right now. You should get these profiles done # Sugar # Thyroid # Liver # Lipid & get your BP checked. 7. After this you can consult a dietician for proper diet advice.
