Cancer

Cancer is an uncontrolled proliferation of transformed cells in any part of the body. Neoplasm or tumor are used variably to describe any swelling or new growth. Benign growths don't have the potential to spread to other organs or parts of the body while malignancy or malignant growths have uncontrolled proliferation and metastatic potential. Transformation is a multistep process with genetic alterations by which normal cells acquire malignant potential, uncontrolled proliferation capacity and capacity to spread to other parts of the body (metastasis) worldwide cancer is responsible for 1 in 8 deaths. Most common cancers are:

Men: oral cancer (in India), prostate, lung

Women: breast, cervix and endometrium, colorectal, lung


What causes cancer? cancer is usually multifactorial 


1. Age- more in age group greater than 60 yrs compared to younger age group

2. Obesity- body mass index greater than 30

3. Tobacco - cigarette, cigar, bidi, hookah, smokeless tobacco like gutka, zarda etc. There is no safe form of tobacco.

4. Pan masala and supari

5. Alcohol

6. Ultraviolet rays exposure

7. Radiation exposure

8. Genetic factors

9. Others- pollution, certain chemicals, infections


Prevention of cancer: 


1. Stay away from tobacco products

2. Eat healthy and daily physical activity- fresh fruits and vegetable are good, maintain optimal body weight

3. Be safe in sun

4. Cancer awareness and early detection: alarming signs are (caution)-
 

  • Change in bowel or bladder habits
  • A sore that will not heal
  • Unusual discharge or bleeding
  • Thickening or lump in the breast, testicles or elsewhere
  • Indigestion or difficulty swallowing
  • Obvious change in a wart or mole
  • A nagging cough or hoarseness


5. Cancer screening: screening is for healthy individuals with education. Rather than going for unnecessary blind tests, a programme for screening should be planned in consultation with your oncologist as requirements are different for different cancers and differ as per age groups and gender. Also, screening is not effective in all cancers. Cancer education and awareness have due importance. Some cancers in which screening has been shown to be effective includes breast, colon, rectum, cervix, prostate, lung in high-risk groups but as mentioned earlier it is planned with participation of both individual and oncologist.


Types of cancer treatment:


Cancer treatment is now a multidisciplinary management in which different surgical, medical and radiation oncologist plan treatment protocol for best possible chances of cure. Advancement in all these fields and their contribution in comprehensive management results in 25-30% improvement in cure rate over previous decades.
 

  • Surgery: involves surgical principles to remove the tumor with adequate margins and possible draining lymph nodes regions. Improvements and understanding of surgical principles even make resection of distant disease or cure of stage iv disease in some selected cases.
  • Chemotherapy: cytotoxic drugs are given either in injectable or oral forms which acts on uncontrolled cancer cells. Advances in this fields result in drugs with better efficacy and less side effect profile and at the same time resulting in better cancer control. Targetted therapy acts on specific pathways of cancer growth. Hormone therapy targets specific hormone receptors for controlling cancer.
  • Radiation therapy: is the delivery of radiation generated by radioactive source over the region of cancer. More and more advances in radiation technologists are emerging like imrt, sbrt to focus radiation over the specific location so as to avoid toxic effect over surrounding area.

Hello, Homemade Peanut butter is a better choice. If commercially prepared used, limit its consumption to 1 tsp.

First you should follow low calories food for weight loss. * in morning, take 1-2 chapattis with a bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of lemon water with it *in lunch you can take a bowl of raw vegetables like carrot, radish, tomatoes, turnip or beetroot. *in evening, you can take a cup of green tea only with some pieces of friuts like apple, pineapple, pear. Avoid taking banana or mango. *in dinner, you can take vegetable soup or a bowl of cooked vegetables. But do not take potato, sweet potatoes. * you can take a cup skimmed milk 4 times a week only during day time. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15 minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. Follow these exercises in the morning - * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories and the calories deposit in body in the form of weight if not utilised. * you can take medohar guggalu 1 tablet daily for quick weight loss but only under the guidance of ayurveda expert.

You have not mentioned your present weight and height. Your digestion system may be poor. You may take ayurvedic treatment to get hungry and digest food.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

GC Tablet is just a gimmick. Avoid it .take high fiber low fat diet. Do regular exercise. Take plenty of water every day.

Yes you can take this it is a superfood sometimes it can be allergic if you have stomach pain after taking it stop it it just shows that your liver can't digest it.

= 30 - obese. So you fall in the overweight category. You need to maintain your bmi near about 22-23 kg/m2" mednames=">thanks for the question. As per the information provided, you are 21 years old male subject, with a height of 5'3" and weight of 70 kg. Bmi is calculated by a simple formula (weight in kg)/ (height in m) 2. As per this your bmi is 27.3 kg/m2 which is above normal. Simple guidelines for bmi are a bmi below < 18.5 - underweight. A bmi of 18.5 to 24.9 - healthy. A bmi of 25 to 29.9 - overweight. A bmi of > = 30 - obese. So you fall in the overweight category. You need to maintain your bmi near about 22-23 kg/m2.

Hello Lybrate user to increase your wt you have to add more protein in your diet. your diet should contain milk and dairy product's, chicken, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables etc. you can also use protein powder daily two times in a warm milk glass.

Hello friends main doctor Hanish Gupta hu, diabetes related kuch information mein aaj aaplogo ke sath share karne aaya hu. Main Delhi sahar mein practice karta hu aur Lybrate ka abhari hu ki Lybrate mujhe yeh avsar de raha hai ki main apke sath diabetes ke upalaksh mein kuch batey discuss kar saku. Sabse zyada pechida sawal jo main logo se sunta hu jo ki vastavik roop mein ek simple sawal hai who yeh hai ki kya diabetes mujhe hai bhi yah nahin?

Har insaan janna chahta hai ki diabetes yah madhumeh jaisi bimari ussey grasth kar rahi hai yah nahin? Well iska jawab aap ek simple blood test dwara kahi bhi kisi bhi laboratory mein test kara ke paa sakte hai. Agar apka fasting blood sugar 126 se zyada hai who bhi do avsaro par naki ek avsar par toh apko diabetes ka mareez ghoshit kiya jayega. Isi upalaksh mein ek aur test hota hai jo ki hai glycosylated haemoglobin jissey asaan bhasha mein hba1c ka test kaha jata hai. Is test dwara apke teen mahine ki blood sugar ki ausat pata lagayi jaa sakti hai. Iss test ka humein result percentage mein milta hai. Agar yeh test 6.4% se zyada kisi bhi mariz mein paya jaa raha hai toh ussey bhi diabetes ka mareez ghoshit kiya jaa sakta hai.

Dosto diabetes itni pechida bimari nahin hai jisko bana diya jata hai. Diabetes ko pata lagan ke liye keval yeh do test mahetwapurn bhi hai aur purn taur pe purey bhi hai jiske dwara aap diabetes ke barey mein pata laga sakte hai. Kuch aisi baatey aur bhi hain jo main apke sath discuss karna chahta hu jaise diabetes ke lakshan kya hai. Well agar apke parivar mein koi aisa sadasya hai jissey diabetes hai yah apke upar 40 saal se zyada ho chuki hai yah apko sudden unexplained weight loss hai yah aap wazan mein zyada hai yah aisa hai ki kuch dino se apko zarurat se zyada bhook lagne lagi hai yah zarurat se zyada peshaab aney lag gaya hai toh apko diabetes ke test karwana anivarya hai.

Tips for weight gain 1) eat foods rich in protein like milk and milk product, eggs, chicken, meat. 2) eat energy dense foods like nuts, dates, potato, halwa, kheer etc. 3) eat fruits high in energy like banana, chickoo, sitaphal, mango, grapes. 4) eat two servings of pulses in a day esp. Soybean and urad dal. 5) have proper rest.

Eat a variety of healthy foods from all the food groups. Eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat dairy foods. Whole grains include whole-wheat breads, cereals, pasta, and brown rice. Choose lean meats, poultry (chicken and turkey), fish, beans, eggs, and nuts. A healthy meal plan is low in unhealthy fats, salt, and added sugar. Healthy fats include olive oil and canola oil.

Weakness can be due to many reasons such as hormonal imbalance, disturbed lipid profile, improper sleep, certain deficiencies in the body and many more, get your tsh, t3, t4 and lipid profile profile test and take proper sleep and drink lots of water and take balanced diet.

To reduce weight change food. Avoid too oily, ghee, prepretions, spacy, fast, junck, food, over eating take less as you fill hungery. Take fiber food as much as you can. Takesimple veg food with green vegitabales, salad. Do arobic excersices, yoga, fast walking wll help.
