Dear lybrate user, weight loss and management is depends upon the calory. You must take your diet according to calory. Take low calory green leafy vegetables and fruits etc. Which are easy to digest as well as containing vitamins, minerals etc. Don't take heavy food, fast food, junk food, oliy food, spicy food, rice, potato etc. Drink more water 3 litres in a day. Manage the stress and anger. Regular walking for an hour 5 days in a week. Regular do yogasana / pranayam / exercise etc can help you in weight loss. Don't skip breakfast. Regular take breakfast good. But take less diet in dinner. Take easily digestible food more. Take protein rich diet more. Avoid high sugar diet sweets, rice, potatoes etc. For more details consult me.

Any thing in excess is bad including tea/coffee. tea and coffee contain some chemicals if taken in excess will disturb the systems in the human body. so taking one or two cups of tea/coffee is not harmful and some minor benefits to the body, but if you exceed the limit it will definetely affect the health. so beware. good luck

welcome - I advice to go with high carbs like more cereals, enrihed with quality protein like organic or plant sources, dairy foods, also sleep more 8 hours, green vegetables, fruits 2-4 pcs. are helpful for you. timely working, eating & activities can make fit always. Also, yoga can help you additionally. Further if you feel weak then can add PROTIENX with lukewarm water or milk.Further , you should not practice extensive exercises but normal walking , yoga only.

Focus on healthy foods to gain weight. Eat foods that are loaded with vitamins, minerals, nutrients and calories. You can enrich foods with real nut butters, whole fat milk, avocado, whole wheat bread, vegetable oils, nuts, potatoes, eat more often. Increasing the amount of calories you eat each day will help to gain weight. Focus on eating each meal containing a protein then do regular exercise for fitness.

Being a dietitian my views: there is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

Hi, I have a friend whose periods last for around 10 days. She weighs around 53 kgs and 5.8 feet in height. She is 22 now. Is this normal? If not What must she do?

No, it is not normal, periods last for 5 days only. Get her checked for anemia- blood test for cbc get an ultrasound of abdomen to rule out any reason for prolonged periods. Take her during middle of cycle when eggs are visible also on day 10-12. Get back with reports for more guidance.

Medical shop always given, a januvia 100 mg After one year my nearest friend referred my medical file and he ask, I take a wrong medicine. Doctor suggested janumet 100 mg And take januvia 100 mg. recently I meet other MD medicine doctor suggested I have to take before breakfast Homer1 one Tab and as routine januvia 100 mg after dinner 1 tab. Then I have to know why change or add one tablet medicine in routine. Please let me know above all matter which tab medicine is results oriented Janumet 50/500 Or Januvia 100 mg + gemer1 Regards

Mr Dharmesh, Thanks for the query. Janumet is containing Sitagliptin + metformin and Januvia 100 has only 100 mg Sitagliptin. Doctor has asked you take the combination for better action. As regards the other medicine recommended by another doctor is it Homer 1 or Gemer1? What is the HbA1c% value? What is mentioned is unclear. If diabetes is under control then Fasting blood glucose should be <100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. If you want any specific treatment advise please come in a private consultation with following details : Current Fasting, PP blood glucose levels, HbA1c%, dietary habits, actual daily diet & extent of daily exercise being done, then I will be able to guide. Jaishri 1st thing improve your digestive system by digesting indigested food in your body..so walk regularly for good metabolism... Take high protein diet.. Drink warm milk with honey before sleeping.. Take sleep after meal.. Take aayurvedic chitrakadi bati tablet after meal.. Take ashwgandha powder with water twice a day.. Maximum intake of fruit juices and mixed nuts... Now you are 24year old so cant increase height now..

Hello lybrate-user, this kind of excess weight (119 kg) is breeding ground for many diseases (blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, certain kind of cancers, arthritis etc), which can affect the quality of your life ahead. It is possible that your skin condition is also due to underlying hormonal abnormality which is at root of your excess weight. It may be a good idea to consult a skin specialist as well as an endocrinologist. This is a lifestyle related issue and it can be surely treated with intensive lifestyle modification program. Most people who are fat are made to feel that it is because you lack will power, you are lethargic and a weak person. But that is definitely not true. It is your your hormones which have made you fat and keeping you fat. Unless we make correct diagnosis and and create a diet and lifestyle plan to correct that hormonal abnormalities you will not be able to lose weight for long term. Most diet fails because they are low calorie and low fat. Instead of correcting metabolism, they make you feel low energy or makes you feel excessively hungry. Calorie counting is useless. If you want to count, count nutritional value of food in terms of protein, fiber, good fat etc. I am sure you did not gain this much weight suddenly but over a period of time. To achieve weightloss - think long term. Weight loss achieved over short term, always comes back. Try this general approach (see below) for 4 weeks. If this works then continue. If you have tried this in past or if it does not work, then approach us for weightloss package of 6 months by lifestyle modification. 1. Do not eat anything sugary or sweet. Zero sweetness in diet. 2. Eat plenty of salad in lunch and dinner along with other foods. 3. Do not drink any liquid calorie like cola or fruit juices. 4. Brisk walks or jogging for 45 - 60 minutes every day. My best wishes.

Hi lybrate-user follow this pre-workout - multigrain bread sandwich with peanut butter and cottage cheese post-workout - shake (500 ml slim milk, half scoop whey, spoon of 100 % cocoa, overnight soaked walnuts, almonds & figs, seasonal fruit) lunch - a bowl of indian curry made in olive oil (usually one of pulses) with 2 indian breads evening: multi-grain bread with peanut butter or salad with cottage cheese or cottage cheese sandwith in brown bread dinner: boiled chicken breast (~300gm) followed by a kiwi after an hour.

Gaining weight is as difficult as losing it, if you are naturally thin. Skinny people complain that they can't put on any weight. If you want to build up weight, don't just eat high-calorie junk foods and rely on unnecessary supplements. Choose foods that are energy-dense and nutrient-dense whenever possible. Following are some tips to follow to increase your weight. You will take some time to gain the weight you need, but be patient.------------------ 1. If you have a rapid metabolism, then you must increase your daily intake of healthy foods (increase your intake of carbohydrates) to compensate for the rate at which you burn energy. Eat six smaller meals a day you should also eat more energy dense foods like healthy oils, dry fruits, seeds, nuts, pulses, etc. Along with some starchy foods like potatoes, cereals, bread, pasta, rice, etc.-------------- 2. Consume more calories than you burn. Choose healthy calorie-dense food to add calories. Drink healthy beverages to add calories. Mangoes are rich in calories and carbohydrates, include them in your diet.------------ 3. Eat healthy food frequently, 5-6 times a day - 3 larger meals and 3 smaller meals alternately. Separate them by at least 3 hours so you can digest each meal fully. Don't go without food for 5-6 hours after having a major meal. For example, if you wish to consume 3000 calories a day, you may eat 3 larger meals of about 650 calories and 3 smaller meals of about 450 calories.------------ 4. Have a balanced diet.--------- 5. Exercise regularly for putting on weight. Some thin people think that exercise is not good for them. This is not true, it keeps the metabolism high. Remember that eating alone is not sufficient. You don't want to gain fat but lean mass, so exercise is important. Resistance training exercises will help to increase your muscle mass, which in turn will increase metabolism. Learn to distinguish between weight gaining exercises and weight loss exercises. Note that if you do not get enough amino acids during exercise, the existing muscle may break down. Amino acids come from protein foods so you should eat such foods after exercise. Keep in mind that excessive exercise without putting back the energy you have used will not help you to put on weight.-------------

Your answer is from your question. Smoking is very harmful. You can stop it with your inner will power & determination. But nicotex is good. Use this with help of your family doctor. As there should be regular decrease of this medicine. No side effect of nicotex. You can do any type of exercise after quiting smoking. Even better that present time. Have some patience. 1. Keep a food diary-Keeping a food diary helps in two ways: firstly, it’s a reminder of how much time has passed since you ate, and secondly, you become more aware of what you’re consuming. 2. Drink more-Replacing calorie-heavy drinks with water also helps in reducing weight. 3. Cut down on sugar-Cutting down on sugar has an overall positive effect on the body. According eliminating refined sugar from your diet not only helps you lose weight, but also improves skin, stabilizes moods and decreased pain in her joints. 5. Walk more-Downloading a fitness tracker app will help keep note of how much exercise you do in a day.
