I am 35 yr old male. I am 86. 5 kgs. I was 66 kg when I was 21 year old. Please let me know how can I reduce the weight I have gained in past 14 years of my working life.

Eat small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips. I am sure it will at least help you with some initial weight loss.

Mr. Sitapati lybrate-user, There are a lot of benefits claimed about honey and lemon juice. It is very difficult to scientifically substantiate all those. Basically lemon juice has a fair amount of vitamin C, plus honey is basically similar to sugar, with some antioxidant properties. If one wants this can be had. In case of a diabetic person quantity honey has to be very limited because it is just sugar. Thanks.

Hi, you should go for brisk walk in the morning. Go for swimming, gardening, jogging, running, skipping. Take 1 glass lukewarm water with lemon in the morning. Take salad before meals. Drink more water in a day. Don't take rice at night and don't skip breakfast. Avoid junk food and oily food. Take small and frequent meals.

Any increase in the blood sugar levels can be termed as diabetes and it is due to damage to the beta cells of the pancreas and there is no age limit and it's better to eat food with low glycemic index levels.

Change food habites. Avoid too oily end ghee prepretions, sweets, cold drinks, eggs, nonveg. Take simpal veg food with salad. Take less as you fill hungery lunch end dinner. Do arobic excersices, yoga, fast walking morning or evening. In office after 1 or 2 hours gets up from chair walk in office for few minutes than again start work will help to you. For medicinal advice ask privetly. Dr. Tare.

Hye, thanks for the query. Weakness is due to poor nutrition. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals. Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

Protein rich foods are all milk and milk products, eggs, pulses, sprouts, nuts, tofu, rajmah, chole, soyabean, paneer, chicken, fish etc. Fiber rich foods are green vegetables, sprouts, fruits like Apple mainly. Zinc rich foods are broccoli, chick peas, green peas and Rajma.

Generally weight gain can be due to a lot of reasons. -unhealthy lifestyle -excessive intake of sugars and extra calories. -alcohol consumption -stress correction of lifestyle is the solution. -sleep for at least 7-8 hrs -exercise for at least 30 minutes everyday -drink at least 2.5-3 liters of water -eat mindfully -stay away from stress. Indulge in meditation.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. From your query it is clear that you have T2 DM, but there are absolutely no other details which can help me to understand the situation better. Unless all the following details are known:(Fasting, PP blood glucose levels, HbA1c%, dietary habits and extent of daily exercise, plus present medications if any with dosage,), it is not possible to suggest any medication. In this communication we are supposed to give just general guidelines like what general precautions to be taken and lifestyle changes to be done, but we can not recommend any drugs. That is possible only when one comes in a private conversation with all the above mentioned details, then I can prescribe specific medications. Thanks.

Hi, Medication:-1. Tab Obesidat -1 tab twice a day before food. 2. Triphala juice-10 ml with warm water daily before food twice a day Tips:- 1.No salt intake after 7: 30 pm 2.No aerated drinks. Even Liquor too. 3.Restrict mango and banana. 4.Restrict potato and rice. 5.No artificial juices. 6.Half an hour aerobic exercise daily. Joining a gym for workout will be a better option. 7.20 mins of breathing exercise (pranayam). 8.Avoid Rajmah, Channa, Peas, Mushroom, Gobi, Pumpkin, Leafy vegetables, Capsicum, Paneer, Cheese, Curd, Non Veg, Maida related items (like Bread, bun, pizza, burger etc), Deep fried and spicy food, Sweets, Sugar, carbohydrate rich fruits like apple, Sapota, Banana etc. 9.Avoid rice intake in the morning and strictly in the night. 10. Avoid intake of refrigerated food in the morning, prepared previous night. 11. Intake of food should be on time without skipping even a single meal. 12. Maintain min two hours of gap between dinner intake and sleep. 13. Consume minimum eight glasses of water a day. 14.“Early to bed and early to rise” should be strictly followed. Sleeping Late night should be strictly avoided. 15. Have fruits only in the noon time. Avoid fruits consumption in the night (occasionally can be taken before dinner). 16. Stop intake of milk during bed time. 17. Bathing should be before food intake only. 18. Tea, milk intake should be twice a day preferably morning and evening. Coffee intake should be strictly avoided.

To reduce belly,bicepes and chest fat you need to be particular about food choices & timings. Eat small & frequent meals. Include high fiber foods in your diet such as whole cereals & whole pulses. Drink plenty of water. Avoid refined foods from your diet such as maida, pasta. Keep check on your food intake.and do suya namaskar 10 times daily
