Please follow the below recommendation for your condition: Diet, exercise, and behavioral modification should be included in all obesity management approaches for body mass index (BMI) of 25 kg/m 2 or higher. Other tools, such as pharmacotherapy for BMI of 27 kg/m 2 or higher with comorbidity or BMI over 30 kg/m2 and bariatric surgery for BMI of 35 kg/m2 with comorbidity or BMI over 40 kg/m 2, should be used as adjuncts to behavioral modification to reduce food intake and increase physical activity when this is possible. Many obese people are advised to follow a juice diet or the juice fast for a period of a week or so, so that they can shed the excess extra pounds faster. Health and nutrition experts advise people to consume fresh fruit or vegetable juice for obesity. For further queries get back to me.

Hi I hit gym daily at night around 8 pm after my work hours. After gym, I take fruit juice preferably pomegranate juice. My query is if taking juice after workout is good option or not keeping in mind that I am targeting my tummy to reduce?

If you are targeting to reduce tummy, then pomegranate juice after workout is not a good option as the natural sugar content is too high. You should rather take mausmi juice as vitamin C helps in melting down the fat.

Hye, Thanks for your query. First of all no food will work in isolation in weight/fat loss. It's a balanced diet that is important to fat loss. Remedies like green tea don't help weight loss. They help flush out your system and act as a detox which definitely will help better digestion and metabolism. This will aid in your efforts to lose weight. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed.                        Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing.     It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called singular remedies will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, have your green tea but accompany it with good diet, exercise and sleep to see result.

Pay close attention to your food choice. ·        Eat less carbohydrate food sources like chapatti, rice, noodles, pasta, bread etc as they help in gaining weight and storing fat. ·        While having lunch or dinner eat vegetables and dal to fill your stomach rather eating lots of chapattis or rice. ·        Have a healthy breakfast like poha, idli, upma, plain dosa, oats, dalia or khichdi with vegetables. ·        Eat a balance diet including good quality proteins like: fish, lean chicken and eggs. If you are a vegetarian then include skimmed milk, low fat paneer, butter milk, soy bean or soy milk in your diet. ·        Avoid ghee, butter or vanaspati. Prepare your diet with vegetable oil like sunflower, safflower soybean or olive oil. ·        Eat plenty of salads. ·        Eat fresh fruits including apple, orange, pineapple, papaya, sweet lime, berries, guava, watermelon, mask melon etc. ·        Avoid eating outside junk and fried foods like pizza, pasta, roll, burgers, cakes, chocolates and cookies. ·        Have an early dinner. The earlier the better, giving your system more time to digest the food. ·        Avoid cold drinks/alcohol as they add empty calories to your diet. ·        Avoid fat enriched milk products like cheese, sweets, full fat cream etc. ·        Drink 3 liters of water in a day. ·        Try to have less sugar in food and beverages. ·        Try to drink 2 cups of green tea in a day as green tea helps in weight loss by aiding digestion. ·        Avoid red meat like mutton, beef, lamb or pork. ·        Eat sprouts or roasted chana, whenever you feel hungry. Kindly mention your Thyroid profile and revert.

I have told already. Take three meal first before 10 am ,second arround 2-3 pm ,third arround 8-9 p m. Take full plate salad before each meal. Take 1-2 missi roti without ghee over it. Eat slowly chew well. Take fruits 2 times about 12 and 5-6 pm. Take all fruits except mango, banana,grapes, chikoo, leechi and no fruit juices. You can take badam, akhrot and pista. Ground nut in a limit.

hello aditya, chest fat is not stomach fat its not going by crunches or stairs. if u want to loose first of all you have to cut off fat in your diet plan and low carbs like after wakeup 1 glass warm water with little lemon and honey breakfast oats with milk, 3 white eggs, papaya , 6 almonds brunch salad , green tea lunch 1 chapati, green vegies, little curd before workout 1 apple , black coffee after workout 3 white eggs, sprouts, 1 apple,1 glass juice dinner 1 chapati, boiled daal, salad, boiled chicken breast, before sleep green tea things to remember no sugar no xtra salt no junk food drink plenty of water or in workout u do running , pushups , pechdeck, and more chest workout specially fly

you can start with any physical activity like wise morning walk, running. you can start with barely water (1-2 glass) also you can add easy digestible food like oats, toast with one Cup of tea etc. There are many things which you can add to reduce weight easily like green leafy vegetables, seasonal fruits, etc. Take Rosted chana during the day orange juice skimmed milk with wheatflakes etc. you can avoid these things in your diet as like sugar,potato,junk and spicy foods, alcohol, smoking etc. make a record of your weight. take plenty of water

Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly it is important to understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. It is possible that you are not taking foods as per your body's needs and activity levels or it is possible that your body has got used to your present routine and plateued. Eat small but frequent meals.     Take a glass of lime water 10minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed.                        Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing.     It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips,or you may have to tweet your exercise and diet routine.

lybrate-user, Please clarify whether you have hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, because weight gain is seen in hypothyroid ism. It wold have been better if thyroid assay results were mentioned. Unless that is clear, no opinion can be given. There is no special diet needed. What is required is to reduce the intake based on ideal body weight - 52 kgs X 25 calories = 1300 calories per day. Avoid sweets, deep fried food, pastries and bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks and fructose corn syrup containing products. Consume more of green leafy vegetables and salads as well as fruits. If you are active enough and your appetite is good and do not get tired easily, there's no need you should gain weight. Let it be natural process. However you may adopt positive calory intake balance i. E. Eat more calories than you spend. However with the help of some herbominerals, your metabolism normalises. It may gain weight if reqd by your body. In any case do not take harmonal medicines to gain wt.

Tips for regular weight lose: increase the quantity of fruits and vegetables and low calorie foods. Avoid intake of too much salt as it may be a factor for increasing body weight. Milk products like cheese, butter etc. And non-vegetarian foods should be avoided as they are rich in fat. Mint is very beneficial in losing weight. A chutney of green mint with some simple spices can be taken with meals. Mint tea also helps. Spices like dry ginger, cinnamon, black pepper etc. Are good for loosing weight and can be used in a number of ways. Regular intake of carrot juice. Avoid rice and potato, which contain a lot of carbohydrates. Among cereals wheat is good. Vegetables like bitter gourd (karela), and bitter variety of drumstick are useful in loosing weight. Honey is an excellent home remedy for obesity. It mobilizes the extra deposited fat in the body allowing it to be utilized as energy for normal functions.

Hye. In order to lose weight you must either eat sensibly and exercise to burn off calories. Eat as per the body's needs. Food that is not used to fuel the body is stored as fat. A major component of losing weight is to make smarter food choices. Here's how: Limit non-nutritious foods, such as: Sugar, honey, syrups and candy, pastries, donuts, pies, cakes and cookies, soft drinks, sweetened juices and alcoholic beverages Cut down on high-fat foods by: Choosing poultry, fish or lean red meat. Choosing low-fat cooking methods, such as baking, broiling, steaming, grilling and boiling. Avoiding high-fat snacks like chips and chocolate. Avoiding fried foods. Using less margarine and mayonnaise. Avoiding high-fat gravies, cream sauces and cream-based dishes. Eat a variety of foods, including: Fruit and vegetables, whole grains, breads, cereal, rice and pasta, dairy products, such as low-fat or non-fat milk or yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese and low-fat cheese, protein-rich foods like chicken,  fish, dals and legumes, or beans should be included in your diet. Change your eating habits: Eat three balanced meals a day to help control your hunger. Watch portion sizes and eat small servings of a variety of foods. Choose low-calorie snacks. Eat only when you are hungry and stop when you are satisfied. Eat slowly and try not to perform other tasks while eating. Find other activities to distract you from food, such as walking, taking up a hobby or being involved in the community. Include regular exercise in your daily routine.
