Follow the following tips:- · Pay attention to your health and food intake. · To increase your appetite, have a glass of lime water or 1 cardamom (elaichi) before your meal. · Have minimum 4 meals in a day. · Drink 1 glass of milk twice a day. · Try to enjoy your meals and gradually increase the quantity you eat every time. · A balance diet should have all essential nutrients in it. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It should include combination of Both Carbohydrates and Proteins for e.g. Oats with Milk or Poha/ Upma with a glass of milk. If you do not like milk have 1-2 egg whites in the morning along with your breakfast. · You need to focus on your protein intake : Increase your protein intake e.g. milk, dairy products- cheese, paneer, lentils (dals), nuts ( soya, peanuts, dry fruits ), pulses e.g. rajma, chole, kidney beans etc. sprouts. If you are a non-vegetarian, then you can have proteins by also eating eggs, chicken, fish. Make sure you are including at least 2 serving of any of these in your daily meal. · Lunch and dinner again should be a combination of Proteins, Carbohydrates and Fats which could have dal, roti, sabji/chicken, salad. · Please do have minimum 4 almonds or a small bowl of peanuts every day. · Please ensure that you drink at least 3 litres of water every day.

i suggest you easy method of weight gain just follow it for year you will gain weigh defiantly 1. start exercise regularly for 3 month and then after 3 month leave it for 3 month at the time of exercise your diet will increase but same diet continue after 3 month when you stop exercise so thats why your weight will increase automatically now we discus about diet 2.take dates with milk in the morning breakfast 3.triphala kadha 4 tsp beore lunch and dinner 4.amala juice 4 tsp + 2tsp sugar + 2tsp honey in the morning empty stomach this take for 1.5 month only your weight gain will take definitely note=avoid over eating ......

These types of constitutional treatment could only be possible with homoeopathy, that too only after a good case taking by a qualified homoeopathic physician. Although you can give her omelette garnishing with vegetables. Or you can make chapati of mix aatta, that will give her required nutrients.

First of all you should follow some basic thing 1. Avoid=hot and cold at time 2. Less the sugar as much as possible if you want to eat sweet take juggery which is black 3. Do not drink water after meal drink at the time of meal sip by sip up to 150 ml 4. Avoid late night sleep 5. Avoid to eat spicy food, besan, bekary food, overeating, junk food. 6. Every 3 day in month eat mung dal and rice for whole day.

I am managing my diabetes based on the sugar reading test done at home with home test kit. I would like to know which test reading is the most important to decide whether diabetes is in control? Is it the fasting/post postprandial reading. Dear sir, greetings for the day. Thanks for your query at this platform. I will try my level best to help you. It is great that you are conscious regarding your diabetes and managing it. I would like to suggest you to get done min one fasting /pp test in one month at some reputed lab. So that you can match the results and show it to your doctor. Some of my suggestions in managing your diabetes will be 1. Never skip any meal. Try to eat in smaller portions frequently. 2. Avoid taking more that 2 t spoon of oil per day 3. Try to have more of protein rich food like dal, beans etc. 4. Do yoga asanas everyday for better management of diabetes. 5. Have lots of fruits and vegetables hope this will help you.

People with diabetes have to take extra care to make sure that their food is balanced with insulin and oral medications (if they take them), and exercise to help manage their blood glucose levels. Healthy eating includes eating a wide variety of foods including: vegetables, whole grains,fruits, non-fat, dairy products, beans,lean meats, poultry,fish. Life style - stress free life and do regular exercise.

Dear lybrate user Ganesh you need some change in food habit.take some light breakfast like cornflakes or Dalia, at lunch time include more salad ,green vegetables along with some fruits eat all this in parts instead of eating at one time and if different type of thoughts came in your mind don't think on that and involve yourself in some other activity.as according to research on thinking upon any topic the amount of calorie burns in 15 mins is that much when someone carry 5kg weight for 1 hour.try to eat at right time sleep before 11pm wake up at 5-6 am do some exercise you will see the difference. It is very good to know that you are weight training. An exercising person has to take more protein because when you exercise your muscles break and to repair them and increase their size more protein is required. After a weight training session whey protein powder works the best because it immediately gives you muscle recovery. It has no side effect and has immense benefits when taken in right proportion. You also have to follow a very clean diet (proper nutrition) to get good results.

Are You Feeling Nauseous? You Might Be Suffering from Gastroparesis!

Gastroparesis is a condition when your stomach feels full and heavy even after it has been more than a couple of hours after meal. Generally, it takes maximum 1 & ½ hours for the stomach to feel empty, but if the time taken for it is more, then this is a condition of gastroparesis. It means there is some change in your normal digestion process.

In this circumstance, the food in your stomach doesn’t digest easily and creates a lump. As a result, you have hard time digesting your food. It also means the nerves connected to the stomach are not functioning well. There are a number of reasons for which you can get gastroparesis.

  1. Diabetes is one of the most common causes of making you feel fuller.
  2. Disorders in the nervous system, mainly Parkinson’s disease or cerebral attack can create this problem.
  3. Some medicines, especially antidepressants or anti-inflammatory in nature and certain painkillers can cause this problem.

Gastroparesis shows a number of symptoms:

  1. Occasional vomiting as you feel unnecessarily fuller. When you vomit, it gives out chunks of undigested food
  2. A feeling of nausea
  3. You feel full after you have eaten very little
  4. Bloating and pain in your abdomen
  5. There is alteration in the blood sugar level
  6. You don’t feel like eating due to loss of appetite
  7. You lose considerable weight as you don’t eat much
  8. A possibility of suffering from malnutrition, again due to lack of appetite

How it can be treated?
When you identify the reason for gastroparesis, then treating it becomes easier. If diabetes or nerve disorder is creating the problem, leave it to your doctor to treat. For other causes like lack of appetite, there are some natural ways of treating it.

  1. Have frequent smaller meals. This way you don’t push yourself to eat much and at the same time, the body doesn’t lack nutrition and energy
  2. Avoid fibrous fruits
  3. Avoid high carbohydrate and high fat foods, which takes time to digest
  4. Intake foods which you can swallow, like soups or stew. They are healthy and are also easy to digest

If the problem still persists, consult your doctor who may prescribe some medicines to stimulate the stomach muscles. They generally have no side-effects. There are some medicines which can control your vomiting and nausea. There are some surgical treatments for gastroparesis, where the doctors place a feeding tube in your small intestine. A gastric venting channel is another option, which helps you to get relief from excessive gas formation in your stomach, thus accelerating the process of digestion.

You must have a healthy meal in the early morning and not skip it. Including whole grains and protein rich non fried foods is good. Add some electrolytic drink like jeera water lime juice kokam sarbat etc during the hours you can drink water. Break the fast with fruits khajoor or nuts and then have a light meal for dinner. Avoid too oily fried or spicy foods as timings are different so digestion is impaired.

Obesity is a condition of excessive body fat for a given height and gender. The intake of the calories must harmonize with the output of work done physically, to burn up the calories. Else the unused calories get stored up in the body as fat. The calorie requirement differs for each individual according to the pattern of work he undertakes. Eating just what the body needs followed by regular exercise is the only solution to deal obesity. Vegetables such as tomatoes, carrots and dark green leafy vegetables are low-calorie foods that are good for your health. Therefore, include some vegetables salad and fruits in your daily diet to keep you full and satisfied throughout the day. Make a mixture of 1 teaspoon of honey and lemon juice in a glass of warm water, mix well and have this mixture daily in the morning green tea is an effective remedy for weight loss. Add 2-3 cups of green tea everyday to your daily routine to combat obesity. Exercise plays a key role in maintaining a healthy body. Lack of exercise can lead to overweight and obesity. Exercising burns up the extra fats in the body and will keep your body flexible, energetic and healthy, hence start doing some exercise daily for a fit and healthy body. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of warm water daily to make sure that your body is getting enough water. Drinking warm water will help shed those extra flabs in your body by burning extra calories several times a day, hence it can help you lose weight.

Mr. lybrate-user , You have mentioned about the drugs being taken for diabetes, but no dosage. There is no mention about fasting, PP glucose level and HbA1c%, so it is not clear whether diabetes is well controlled at all. At your age it is very essential to achieve a very strict blood glucose control with fasting closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. If not then you are inviting long term complications of diabetes much early. As regards dietary advice, unless all the details are known, it is difficult to suggest a specific diet. However, please avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks, sweet corn syrup containing products and food stuff made up of maida. Avoid alcohol and smoking completely. As regards lifestyle regular one hour exercise a day is most important. Brisk walking is good enough. But if you can jog or run please do. Thanks.

When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Sesame seeds, ground nuts, and peanuts also contain fats in them and can help in adding that extra pounds you desire. 2. Sometimes loss of appetite may also cause weight loss. Bhastrika bharmari shavasan do these pranayam n yogaasan reularly for 5-5 min. Put 2-2 drops of badam rogan inside each nostils twice a day. Medha vati -----2-2 tabs, after meal twice a day badampak powder 1 tea spoon with milk at bed time. Review for 1 month.
