I am a diabetic age 38 years so I want to know that my sugar level always near to 400 but I have no such problem in my body but there are some people sugested that it will ne dangerous so please advise me.

Instead of eating heavy dessert like halwa or gulab jamun.Opt for freshly cut fruit (not sweetened canned fruits ). It will cut short your craving for sweet food as well and gives you nutrients and much less calories.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Weight is dependent on metabolism and genetics along with diet and exercise. Gaining weight requires you to eat more calories than you burn. Although fried or sugary foods are calorie dense, eating them exclusively won’t provide enough nutrition to keep you energetic and healthy. Eating several meals and snacks throughout the day and including nutritious, calorie-dense food will help you gain weight healthfully. Weight gain depends primarily on your genetics, age, weight and activity level. To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you’re not used to eating large quantities of food at one time, you may find it difficult to fit all of your calories into three meals per day. Eating nutritious, calorie-dense foods every two to three hours will help you get your calories in without making you overly full and sluggish. If you tend to forget to eat or are always on the go, bring calorie-dense snacks such as eggs, mixed nuts, fruits and dairy. Nutritious, calorie-dense foods provide essential vitamins and minerals, which promote good health and energy. Adding ghee and cream to foods adds additional calories for very little extra physical bulk. Fruit juice, masala milk provides crucial nutrients. Meal-replacement shakes and protein powder sound like good options but also remember that unless your diet is not planned sadly they won't help.

  1. What is Organ Donation?: Organ donation is the process of pledging your organs through recognised institutions, so that the same may be used after your demise. This pledge usually allows the transplant of healthy organs as well as tissue that can be used to benefit someone who has been going through life without the said organs or without properly functioning ones. While some donations like the kidney as well as some part of the lungs can be done while the donor is still living, most of these transplants happen after the person's death.
  2. Types of Donation: There are three ways in which one can donate organs. The first is brain stem method where the person's brain activity has stopped due to an injury. In such a case, the heart and other organs may still be working due to life support system like a ventilator. The next method is circulatory death where a cardiac arrest gives rise to the complete loss of function in one's heart and lungs, which can lead to a state where the person cannot be revived. The third kind is living donation like kidney transplant or a small section of one's liver or lungs.
  3. Importance of Organ Donation: The importance of organ donation cannot be stressed enough. This potentially lifesaving act can help in bringing back someone's sight or give them a heart that beats normally. With organ donation like kidney transplant, one will not need to go through dialysis again. Also, organ donation can save much time, money and effort in painful treatments and give the person a whole new lease of life. It is also important because it ensures that the vital organs are used by a needy person even after the death of the donor.
  4. Importance of Physical Health: The physical health of the person is important in such cases because the donation should not have negative implications for the wellbeing of the patient. Through a system of donor assessment, the donor is checked for infections and other ailments including HIV so that the same are not passed on to the patient.
  5. Organs that you can donate: Starting from the eyes to the kidney, lungs, heart, pancreas, intestines, bones, as well as bone marrow and even the skin and corneas, one can donate a number of organs. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a General Physician.

Follow the doctor’s advice properly, in uncontrollable condition only Insulin helps the patient. However, if you write details of medicines and treatment papers, I can advise you specifically. Eat plenty of vegetables Have sufficient fibres in your diet e.g. Salads Cut down on sugar/ sweets Cut down on salty processed foods Cut down on energy dense, processed food - such as crisps, cakes, biscuits and pastries Make at least an hour rigorous physical activity part of your daily life i.e. Jogging/ brisk walking/ running/ gym/ else you like Yoga/ meditation will help you in reducing stress level If you are non-vegies Eat fish regularly Cut down on processed meat but no problem with fresh (unprocessed) meat/ chicken If you are alcoholic/ smoker Cut down on alcohol/ smoking Check your Blood Pressure/ Cholesterol level (Lipid Profile)/ Renal Function Tests regularly. Hi, I can understand your concern. You can get healthy on your own, it does work. You just have to want it. And really fight for it. And of course when your trying to recover on your own, its not as easy. When your at hospital and have proffessional help. Its easier. You have a meal plan, you have people watching you, making sure you eat. Do not exercise. They make sure you gain weight. They help you recover. While your trying to recover on your own, the most important thing is that you have support. That is very important. Its almost impossible, if you have no one you can talk to, no one who will be there beside you when things are hard. Or someone to remind you thatrecovery is worth it. Someone to make you smile. Whether thats your mum, best friend, boyfriend. Etc etc (but I do not know, when your sick its so easy to lose contact with people. And if you have lost contact. Its just to take contact with people again, and let them know your trying to recover and hope that they can help you, support you.) recovery is not easy, its a mental battle everyday. And facing your body is not easy while in recovery. Ok. The best thing to do is start off small. 3 meals a day, and then add on snacks. So you have 5-6 meals a day. That is the best thing. Its good for the metabolism anyway. Its just healthy to eat 5-6 meals a day. And when your eating 5-6 meals a day aim for 2500-3000 calories. Thats what you need to gain weight. But start off with roughly 1000-1200 calories, and then raise it. Really, calories should not be counted. But when your making a meal plan, then I guess you should know how mcuh your eating. Find foods that you like. It makes eating easier. So. I guess thats up to you to decide what you like and want to eat. But I suggest to eat full fat foods. It makes gaining weight easier. And that is what is needed in recovery. Do not forget that my best tips in recovery, are to hide the mirrors. Trust me, it does not help. Just have a small one so you can do your make up, brush your teeth, see your face. But hide the llong mirrors. Get rid of the scale. The number on the scale does not define you. Ok. So if your recoverying on your own. Yeah, it might be good to see if your gaining weight or losing weight, but decide a day. Like monday morning, once a week you check. And thats it. Hide the scale. And do not step on it unless its monday morning. You have to be tough with yourself. You have to be your own guard. And do not listen to the voice in your head. There will be bad days. Days when you just want to give up because you feel fat, or eveyrthing is hard. And thats normal, thats part of recovery. Thats the hard times. Thats when you need to be 10 times stronger, and just eat anyway. I also suggest to make food dates - i. E. Plan to have brunch with a friend, or go for lunch with someone. Go to dinner, or invite someone for dinner. Go out for frozen yoghurt etc etc. In the end you need to challenge yourself, and it also makes sure that you eat. It makes it easier if your with someone when your eating. You should consult a professional. You can consult with me for counselin and therapy regarding this. All the best.

Dear lybrateuser, -You can have coconut water daily but limit it ton 2-3 servings, more quantities are not safe as it has high amount of potassium which can lead to electrolyte imbalance in the body, -in normal quantities it can help reduce blood pressure & boost hydration.

Hi, Diabetes and hypertension have nothing to do with fever. Fever may be simple/ self-limiting viral infection, or it may a symptom some serious illness like typhoid/ malaria/ Dengue/ TB or many more like that. It is decided by symptoms provided by you, and a battery of investigations. But short term fever is most likely viral fever. Therefore, follow the advice and consult doctor with detail symptoms. 1. Take rest for 1-2 days. Wear light and cotton cloths, it helps in cooling of body. 2. Take Tablet Paracetamol 500 mg (as and when required; after food) for fever (more than 99 F) for 3 days. Maximum 3 tablets with gap of 8 hours can be taken in a day. 3. If fever persists, do cold sponging (with cold water even ice water if needed) to lower down temperature. 4. Drink plenty of fluids. 5. Take adequate rest and proper sleep. Going to work, working out may just make you feel worse as the extra action adds stress to your body. Inadequate sleep decreases immunity of body, which causes worsening of illness. 6. Take proper diet preferably homemade like dalia, khichdi, rice, dahl, chapatti, vegetable soups or steamed veggies. 7. This is season of dengue, therefore, if you have high grade fever, and body ache, then have Platlet Count from nearby Laboratory. Consult again if symptoms persist or worsen. ***Get Well Soon*** “Cold sponging is the best treatment if fever is uncontrolled.”

Weight reduction can not be done over night. You have to take it as a way of life. Do diet control. No sugar in tea, coffee, milk etc. No sweets take small frequent feeds. When you get used to it, skip one meal. You should do non weight bearing yoga exercises.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.
