Mr. Lybrate-user, diabetes mellitus is a disease due to either insulin deficiency or resistance to its action. (t2 dm). So the solution is to take proper drugs that help in lowering blood sugar by stimulating insulin secretion and those that reduce insulin resistance. Some times insulin injections also are required. The treatment is for lifetime. There is nothing like" change in 1 month" or so. Along with drugs, diet control and exercise also are important.

Hello Doctors I am born of 05.06. 1984 and am presently suffering from TG from the last three years. When I initially checked it and cross checked from 4 different labs it was 790. After making several efforts I reduced it to 200 without any medicine and till now it remain as it is. Recently I once again examine my self my TG was once again raised to 351 and I consult Doctor who advised me to take Atorva TG initially for one month. Will you please suggest me is this a permanent solution as I am worried of it. To control it I am doing Daily walk n running at least 10kms Fat reduced ratings Consumption of 4ltr of water besides sufficient fruit.

Recently I read an article about the effect of wheat on diabetes. In the olden days, in India, diabetics were advised to avoid polished rice, our staple diet, and stick to a diet of wheat and wheat products. The above article highlighted the adverse effects of high-yielding varieties of wheat on diabetes. You will kindly appreciate that traditional varieties of wheat are no longer available. Grateful if you could kindly elaborate.

Though, there are many theories of dietary aspects in diabetes. But, nothing is accepted worldwide. Food preferences varies with region and even in our vast country rice is the staple diet in the east and south whereas wheat is mainly consumed in north and west. There have been studies, but none has shown any correlation with the staple cereal on diabetes prevalence. Many authors have blamed rice and claimed wheat based diet regimen for diabetic reversal, and vice-versa, but did not mention any conclusive evidence for the same. Current guidelines only mentions whole grains with high fibre content rather than processed foods.

Hello, A pregnant woman should take utmost caution of what she eats. A nutritious diet rich in proteins, iron, calcium and omega 3 fatty acids is recommended. Overall besides normal food make sure she takes a big glass of milk daily, 2-3 eggs in a week, chicken/ fish twice a week, take 2 helping of fruits and salads daily. Taking 5-6 almonds alone a piece or two of walnuts daily should overall take care of your nutritional requirements. Hope this helps you.

Tips to increase calorie in diet and gain weight: 1) eat three main meal (breakfast, lunch dinner). In addition eat two to three snacks a day in between meals. 2). Snacks should be of high calorie such as milk shakes, yogurt, high carbohydrate food- banana. 3). Eat more complex carbohydrates like whole-grain breads, pasta and brown rice etc. 4) never skip your breakfast and include 1 egg and fruit juice to your breakfast. 5). Eat bigger than normal portions for your regular meals. 6). Choose high-quality protein sources such as eggs, meat, fish, milk, seeds, protein supplements etc. Your body needs 0.8gm/body-weight (kg)/day of protein to build new muscle. 7). Eat starchy vegetables (potatoes, peas, cauliflower, pumpkin, sweet potatoes). 8). Consume nuts, fruits like banana, dried fruits like dates as snack between meals. 9). Eat healthy fats in moderation such as olive and canola oil, nuts, seeds, peanut butter to your diet. 10). Do not drink water before meals. 11) if it is possible, drink shakes, milk, juice, etc. Instead of tea, coffee and diet sodas. Good luck.

Hi to increase weight you should improve your digestive system. By digesting your indigested food with the help of remedy and medicines will ultimately increase your appetite and digestive system. Take chitrakadi vati after meal. Take ashwagandha churna with water twice a day. Take banana milk shake. Drink lots of milk and eat lots of milk products. Like butter. Ghee..

I have been suffering from filaria to my left foot for about 20 years. What should I do? is there any permanent cure? I am 55 years old.

There is no permanent cure for filaria. The damage done is done. For acute attack however, a stat dose of albendazole and ivermectin is helpful. Some people also favour a tab, doxycycline course for 6-8 weeks. Meet a nearby physician to decide on which course to take.

There is next to no radiation emitted from a smart phone. You can look into research of this from the debate of holding it to your head for prolonged periods of time. You should be perfectly fine, but if you do have any concerns, look into tests done on phone radiation emissions.

*Take protein rich food --- seeds, pulses, nuts, Also fruits, vegetables, greens and reduce cereals. *Green tea is also good. *Take lemon juice and honey in warm water in the early morning, empty stomach. *Avoid sweets, fried foods, processed food and junk food. A * Maintain food timings * Don’t miss breakfast. *Avoid heavy dinners and late night meals. *Avoid stimulants, aerated drinks sweetish juices, etc. And maintain good food habits. * Drink lots of water and keep hydrated. Avoid sugary soft drinks * Have adequate, timely, good night sleep *Even with desk job, you can spend morning and evening time for work out *Have vigorous physical exercise to improve absorption and blood circulation. To lose weight, she has to eat healthy and eat on time: Not only eating healthy is important but eating at right time is equally imp too. Have an early breakfast and early dinner and have 4 small meals between breakfast and dinner. To guide you a bit, here you go: A.Breakfast (Between 8-10 a. M) – Have oats/porridge or brown bread with milk and nuts. B.At 11 a. M - Cup of Green Tea c.Mid day meal (around 12 p. M) – Have a bowl of fruits. Citrus fruits are best taken during this hour and absorb well in the body. Have oranges, amla, pineapple etc during this hour. D.Lunch (between 2-3 p. M) – Daal, roti, mix veg, buttermilk and salad. You can also take brown rice with daal in lunch. Try to get your food cooked in olive oil. Lace your salad with apple cider vinegar, black pepper and seeds like flaxseeds or chia seeds to make it nutrition packed lunch. E.Between 4 p. M – 5 p. M – Cup of Green Tea F.Evening (4-6 p. M) – Have some nice sprouts with tomatoes and cucumber. G.Dinner (2 hours before sleeping, preferably before 9 p. M) – Paneer & veggies salad with olive oil, Roti or brown rice with Daal. Mr Md Ayan, It is difficult to give any opinion, because no details are given like fasting and PP sugar levels, drugs being taken with dosage and extent of physical activity. Sudden increase in blood sugar levels may be due to food intake or having missed a dose. Otherwise it is most unlikely to happen. What is the HbA1c%? If your diabetes is in good control then fasting level should be nearer 100 mg and PP should be between 150 to 160 mg and HbA1c%<7.

lybrate-user it seems there is inflammatory condition due to infection or impacted wisdom teeth all you need to gurgle with warm salt water thrice a day and maintain oral hygiene take semiliquid diet and use a medicine Kali mur 3x and ferrum phos 3x 4 tabs each 4 times a day with Luke warm water you will be fine. Hi..both thing are important for reducing body weight..1st its 30 to 45minutes cardeo exercises preferable brisk walking..and 2nd its diet control or taking healthy high fibre diet .. Drink warm water with lemon and honey early in the morning.. Maximum intake of green tea and water.. Take high fibre low sugar low fat low salt diet.. Avoid refined and fatty food.. Dinner it should be light maximum till 8pm..

Target 3 kgs in the first quarter of the year of starting your weight loss (because of desk job you cannot really make harsh changes in schedule) -start doing surya namaskar at home, it take 15-20 minutes but is very effective. -start with 5rounds (10 total) and keep increasing gradually to as many as you can do, 7roundz then 10 rounds and so on. -keep a check on your diet. -take 25% less calories. -do not take more than 2tea spoon sugar a day. -try to drink more warm water, preferably with lemon.

You need to have a diet and exercise plan based on your bmi, age & weight and sex, presence of any diseases. There are exercises specific for each part of body like hips, thighs or abdomen. Comprehensive exercise & diet plan based on whether vegetarian /non vegetarian can be given. May also need to do some tests. In brief, weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/4 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests.

Hi, add more protein in your diet like soyabean, sattu with milk, eggs, sprouts, milk and milk products. Combination of cereals and pulses, take healthy and heavy breakfast. No drink before and with meals. If you are non vegetarian include eggs chicken and fish in your diet. Take 2 banana with warm milk in the morning. Hello lybrate-user you should start your morning at half hr walking and before walk drink 1 glass of warm water with 1 tsf honey aloevera juice+godhan ark+amla juice and morning time empty stomach tab. Arogyavati 1 bd and some aasan like pashchimotasan, bhujangasan, chakrasan etc.
