I am 18 year old boy and my height is 5" 6 and I had sex and I want to increase my height at least 2 3 inches and my father and brother is taller than me. What should I do?

We all are aware of the fact that our height increases up to a particular age and then it comes to a halt. Height increases up to the age of 18years in women and up to the age of 20 years in men. Increase in height is attributed to the production of growth hormone, called the HGH( Human Growth Hormone), which is secreted by the pituitary gland called the master gland of our body. It is rather difficult to increase height after reaching adulthood as the production of these hormones slowly stops. In most cases, the epiphyses of the long bones are fused as the last bits of cartilaginous tissue in the bones turn into solid hard bones. This prevents any further growth in longer bones. In Ayurveda, Charak Samhita describes eight different types of bodies that are disease prone. Out of these, the obese body is described as the one afflicted with the most diseases and troubles. Obesity is the condition or physical state of the body when excessive deposition of fat takes place in the adipose tissue.

Extra fat puts a strain on the heart, kidneys, liver and the joints such as the hips, knees and ankles and thus, overweight people are susceptible to several diseases like coronary thrombosis, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, gout, liver and gallbladder disorders. Chief cause of obesity is overeating, irregular eating habits and not following the rules of eating or mixing non-compatible food items in one meal.

To decrease weight and get rid of obesity three things must be kept in mind:
1. Controlling eating habits.
2. Regular exercise.
3. Avoiding the causes of weight gain

Diet recommended to lose weight

Early morning
Juice of half a lemon mixed in a glass of warm water and a teaspoon of honey.


Breakfast
Wheat or mung bean sprouts and a cup of skimmed milk.


Midmorning
A glass of orange, pineapple or carrot juice.

Lunch
Salad of raw vegetables such as carrot, beet, cucumber, cabbage, tomatoes. Steamed or boiled vegetables whole grain bread or whole wheat chapatis (indian bread) and a glass of buttermilk. Roasted cumin seeds, green coriander leaves, a little salt and some grated ginger mixed in the buttermilk.

Mid-afternoon
Coconut water, dry fruits, lemon tea, fresh vegetable soup

Dinner
Whole grain bread or chapatis, steamed vegetables, seasonal fruits except banana and apple.

I have loose motion (2 or 3 a day) from past 1 month. And I have ache just below my left arm pit and on left side of my chest.

For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and For loosemotions drink ors solution and to stop the frequency of motions take capsule roko and Avoid spicy food in your diet and eat only curd rice or khichdi and if necessary we should take prescribed antibiotics

I wanted to ask that a diabetic can go for teeth implant n r there any side effects .will that teeth won't create any problem in future?

diabetes is not a contraindication.uncontrolled diabetes is...get your sugars under control and manage a healthy lifestyle....you can have implants placed and it will heal well.you need to maintain good oral hygiene after implants and it will function for years....no other issue...but yes if diabetes is uncontrolled then implant will be a failure

My eyes became red from 7 days. What can I do to reduce? I have eye sight does it is a problem?

Hello, Irregular period is usually defined as any type of bleeding that's abnormal when compared to your last few menstrual cycles. It can include everything from a late period to early bleeding, and scant bleeding to extremely heaving bleeding. For many women, this can even mean an absent period (amenorrhea) or two periods in one month (metrorrhagia). It's actually a way of your body telling you something is not right and probably your hormones (especially estrogen and progesterone) are imbalanced. Although, in most cases, they are not dangerous, but it is important to figure out what is causing the irregularity (which may require a trip to the doctor). RESAONS/ CAUSES: Some common reasons for irregular periods: STRESS: Stress is the most common cause of irregular periods. Cortisol, the stress hormone, has a direct impact on how much estrogen and progesterone, two sex hormones, gets produced by the body. POOR DIET: Unhealthy eating and being overweight or underweight can cause irregular periods. In order for a woman to maintain a regular cycle, her body fat percentage needs to be at least 17-22 percent. EXCESSIVE EXERCISE: Excessive exercising (or even lack of it) and drastic weight changes can decrease the body fat, being underweight can offset your hormone levels, thus contributing to irregular periods. BIRTH CONTROL PILLS: When some women stop taking the pill, their periods may take one to three months to return to normal. And this can also reveal an underlying hormonal problem that was masked by taking the birth control pills. PCOS: Polycystic ovary syndrome causes cysts to form on the ovaries, interfering with regular ovulation. In fact, PCOS is far more complicated than a missed period. Talk to your doctor about this condition. THYROID: Thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, can cause widespread symptoms like changes in estrogen and cortisol hormones and missed periods. Some home remedies you can try to treat irregular period problem: REDUCE STRESS: Breathe away stress by doing yoga and breathing exercises and meditation in the morning. Also, do kapalbhati and anulom-vilom pranayama for 15 mins each. CHASTE BERRY: The best known hormone balancing herb for women, Chaste berry helps to regulate the female gynecological system. It works by normalizing the secretions of the pituitary gland, hypothalamus, and ovaries, which then appropriately signal to balance the endocrine system. Note – This herb is not recommended if you are taking any fertility drug. It should not be consumed during pregnancy. SHATAVARI: Shatavari is also known to restore the balance of hormones in women. Mix it with equal amount of Ashwagandha and take 1 teaspoon with warm milk at night daily. OTHER HERBS: Some other herbs you can try to regain healthy menstruation: Holy basil (Tulsi), Black cohosh, licorice (Mulethi) root, turmeric, and Evening primerose oil. (If you are on medications, always consult your doctor first). DIETARY CHANGES: Drink carrot juice, aloe vera juice, grape juice. Add ginger, cinnamon, pumpkin seeds, green (unripe) papaya, sesame seeds (with Jaggery), Apple Cider Vinegar and wheat grass to your diet. Also eat other seasonal fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water throughout the day. Most women return to healthy menstruation cycle following these remedies. However, if you don’t benefit from the above, you should see your gynaecologist immediately.

Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home). 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like egg, yougurt and lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply raw amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5. Rub your scalp with the juice of white onion. 6. Use a paste of bhringraj on hair. 7. You can use some good hair packs like - fenugreek and yogurt, egg and green tea. 8. Due to chronic constipation I have left hand side Inguinal Hernia since April 2014. I am wearing Hernia Truss/ Belt whole day due to Doctors have refused to operate my Hernia being a high risc case as I am a heart patient whose Angioplasty/Stent fitting already done in August 2013. Pl advice me that in a day for how many hours Hernia Truss should be seated by me without any side effect of continuous pressure on my belly & intestines. I am also fond of doing regular Yogasans & Prayanams. Pl advice that which Aasans & Prayanams by their specific names are prohibited & not suitable for my above hernia. Thanks.

1)Get a 2nd opinion about surgery,it can be done on patients who are fitted with stents by giving spinal anesthesia in place of GA,2) Constipation will make Hernia worse 3) with age there will be sagging of internal muscles and repair of tissue after operation will be delayed and sagging will lead to constipation followed by impacted stool ,followed by chronic intestinal obstruction 4) You are doing Yoga and Pranayam daily , it is good for entire body , get a CD/ watch TV programes to know more about yoga , 5)I can only suggest you Not to Do Asanas which increase pressure on abdomen 6) Eat foods rich in natural fibers like-every fruit! No juices.7)take a spoon of honey with warm water on empty stomach every morning on an empty stomach. 8) Do not become dependent on over the counter products for constipation, they can make hernia worse.9) take a decision and go for surgery ,10) Observe a fast at least once in a week with liquid diet only and no solid foods.11) all of the above should become your lifestyle modification. 12) do write back about progress of your case.

My father is a diabetic since 10 years, now on tablets. His post prandial blood sugar is 283mg/DL. Could you suggest some diet for him. Is eating pork safe.

Hello- follow these points for blood sugar control- a) avoid day sleep. B) avoid over eating, non-vegetarian diet, rice, potato and dairy products. C) take evening meals before 7 pm. D) walk at least 100 yards or sit in vajrasana position after meals. E) go for morning walk or kapal bhati pranayam early morning. F) physical exertion and increase sweating will help in diabetes. G) avoid small meals like break fast and supper, instead go for two heavy meals. H) amla, turmeric and shilajeet are beneficial in diabetes control and to reduce diabetic complications. No pork is not safe as it contains eggs of worms which can develop worm infestation in your brain and thus causing epilepsy (cystisarcosis).

I have already suffered from dengue in the previous month. Is there any chance to get affected 2nd time? What precautions should I do?

Hi. Dengue is transmitted by several species of mosquito within the genus Aedes, principally A. aegypti. The virus has five different types; infection with one type usually gives lifelong immunity to that type, but only short-term immunity to the others. Subsequent infection with a different type increases the risk of severe complications. As there is no commercially available vaccine, prevention is sought by reducing the habitat and the number of mosquitoes and limiting exposure to bites. Medication: Keep taking homoeopathic preventive medicine for Dengue - Eupatorium Perf. 200/ twice daily for 1 week which should be taken every year during the the of epidemic or prevalences.
