Hi, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc and with no other associated constitutional symptoms like evening rise in temperature, loss of weight, excessive sweating at night etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. My shoulders are jerking continuously from week. Sometimes its left shoulder, sometimes its right. It only stop when I get slept. I have somewhat depression too. Doctor said its due to depression and I am on medicine from week, but still not benefit. I can not live with this. Please help.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Hi, Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight (even while sitting or standing), avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). Always select a chair with proper back support and hand-rest. (Excessive sitting or standing is to be avoided as well don’t carry much weight on shoulders, so take small frequent breaks in between). Apart from these, stress could be the major cause of pains! The best exercises are - swimming, playing basket ball, skipping which involves stretching of whole body. Also, the following Yogasanas would also help you: 1. Cobra pose: Lie prostrate on the yoga mat. The chest and stomach should be on the floor. Stretch out your arms and place them on your side beside your head. Then, try to rise on the hands. Place the pressure evenly on both the hands. Then try to stretch the body as much as you can and hold the pose. This can be repeated at 2 minute intervals. 2. Vertical Bend: To do this exercise, stand on the ground with your legs placed slightly apart. Then try to bend down and touch your toes. While doing this, try not to bend your knees. This asana helps to flex the spine and in turn helps in growth. 3. Vertical Hanging: This is the simplest exercise and the most common. Hanging from a rod helps extend the spine and causes height gain. This also helps to tone the arm muscles. 4. Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. Management: -Sit straight with a back-rest or back-support. -Stretching or activities that place additional strain on the back are discouraged. -Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. -Lying on your back with a pillow under your knees would also relieves pain and no pillow under your head. -Some people seem to benefit from the use of ice or heat. Take care, do not use a heating pad on ‘high’ or place ice directly on the skin. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.

Dear Mr. Sugunakar reddy, you are sufferring from primary osteoarthritis of the knee, most likely unicompartmental (medial). There are various methods of management like knee braces, physiotherapy, medications and synovial fluid replacement therapy by giving injections in the knee joint and surgeries like hto & unicondylar knee replacement. You need to be seen clinically and assessed for any further treatment based on your extent of cartilage damage.

1. Start with Physiotherapy treatment. 2. Reduced pain and swelling. 3 Start with knee exercises under guidance of Physiotherapist. 4. Don't sit on floor. 5. Wear sports shoes. 6. Take methylcobalmine supplement, Omega 3 supplement and Glucosamine supplement for 2 month. 7. Apply volini cream before sleeping. 8. Wear knee cap or knee brace.

I think your mom may be a home maker and stands for a longer time. Ask her to do hot water and cold water immersion in a tub alternatively for each about 3 min as a whole for 10 to 15 min. Of possible give her a slow gentle massge for her foot. This will surely reduce her pain and she can sleep well. Take care of your mom. Give her some rest.

Hi, Both the conditions can be inter-related, before coming to any conclusion, please first of all describe your all the problem in details like - where the exact location of pain? Since how long you have been suffering? How much is the severity of the pain? Any other associated problem with it? When the pain gets aggravated and relieved? First rule out the stiffness of the hip and spine. Spinal mobilization exercise, gym ball exercise, swimming are quite helpful. Stretching of hip and knee muscles are also helpful for this ind of problem. If you have a static cycle you can try that also. Dont go for much strengthening exercise.

Dear , backache can be due to following reasons: 1) bad posture while sitting and bending 2) problem of herniated disc 3) muscle spasm 4) fascet lock 5) sacroilliac joint dysfunction 6) lumbo sacral hypo mobility so I request you to send me the x-ray of your lumber spine to diagnose properly. If it is due to postural muscle spasm, then it can be cured by postural correction.

Your heel posture is not in right direction on weight bearing. Due to weak calf muscle, flat foot. Don't worry do these steps:- 1. For pain relief use hot water bottle take your foot on bottle and gentle push and move forward backward massage for 5min. 2. Stand on toes of both legs for 10 counts then relaxe do it for 15 times. 3. Ankle stretching by towel 5 times. 4. If arch of your foot soul is reduce then use arch orthotics.

Surgery should be done. This is done to avoid degenerative effects on your knee , usually patients with ACL rupture have osteoarthritis - after 10 yrs of acl rupture. osteoartritis of the knee at an early age also will require a major surgery , so to avoid that - you should regain strength of your knee by doing an ACl ligament reconstruction and protect your knee from osteoarthritis. Dear lybrate-user. Sometimes medicines will not help in reducing pain. Apply heat fermentation with any pain reliever ointment twice a day for a week. If no change in pain. Then take physiotherapy treatment. Inferential and ultrasonic therapy helps reducing pain.
