Hi lybrate-user the headache that you are experiencing, could be because of" stress" you could also be a bit in depression but for that you need to ask a psychologist who will diagnose your problem and tell you ways to deal with the problem. Anger and laziness both can be associated to stress/depressed state of mind.

Hello, you will have to take antiviral drugs for chicken pox. Chicken pox is infectious in the first 24-30 hours, post that it is not contagious. So if you are out of that time frame, then nothing can be done. But nevertheless, use different towels and napkins till the time you have chicken pox.

Sir/mam I'm 18 years old and in this age masturbation is common. So suggest how to control it?

BHMS
Homeopath,
Sir/mam I'm 18 years old and in this age masturbation is common. So suggest how to control it?
Dear lybrate user, sperm cells are being continously produced inside human testis. A single sperm cell needs about 4 months to mature before being ejaculated. Masturbating ejaculates many mature as well as immature sperm & results in the temporary deficit of sperm count. This loss of sperm results in the increased production of sperm. A sperm is mainly made up of protein. An increased production of sperm count needs a steady supply of protein. This supply of protein is met from the amount of protein we intake daily. Over masturbation increases the rate of production of sperm to such extent that the demand for protein cannot be fulfilled naturally & it often results in breakdown of protein from muscle tissues. This breakdown of muscle tissues is externally manifested as fatigue, weakness etc. Addiction to masturbation denotes that you are continously indulged in sexual thoughts. This type of thoughts is common in people who live a sedentary life. If you really have a sedentary life-style you should get yourself out from it immediately. Socialize yourself. Do some physical exercise daily. Drink a lots of water. Create a routine of your daily schedule & maintain it. Stop watching porn in case you have developed a habit of watching it also you can take homoeopathic mother tincture origanum q, 10 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. This medicine will help to control your excessive sexual desire. However, you can masturbate for twice in a week.

9 Ways to Control Bipolar mood Disorder

Masters in Clinical Psychology
Psychologist, Lucknow
9 Ways to Control Bipolar mood Disorder

Bipolar disorder is a serious mental health condition in which episodes of mania - an abnormally elevated mood often accompanied by feelings of euphoria - are interspersed with bouts of depression.

People with bipolar disorder generally need to be treated with mood stabilizers and other medications. But maintaining a healthy lifestyle is also important. Eating right, sticking to a regular sleep schedule, and other healthy habits can help people with bipolar disorder manage their condition

  1. Take your meds - Take your medication every day as prescribed by your doctor. In all, 1 in 3 people will remain completely free of symptoms of bipolar disorder by taking mood-stabilizing medicine, such as carbamazepine or lithium, for life.
  2. Exercise daily - Moderate physical activity for 30 minutes a day can help control mood swings.
  3. Eat a balanced diet - Make sure you are getting all the nutrients you need. Eating meals at regular times will help establish a stress-reducing daily routine.
  4. Avoid traveling into other time zones - If you are planning to travel extensively, you may want to call your doctor before you leave. Traveling into other time zones can disrupt your medication schedule and trigger a manic episode.
  5. Get the same number of hours of sleep every night - Changes in your sleep patterns can sometimes trigger a manic or depressive episode. Try your best to keep the same bedtime and rise time, varying them by no more than an hour.
  6. Avoid alcohol and illegal drugs - Even one drink can disrupt your sleep, change your mood, or interfere with your medicines, which can make symptom
  7. Reduce stress at work and at home - Try to keep regular hours at work so stress won't trigger a manic or depressive episode. If stress at work or at home is a problem, counseling may help.
  8. Limit caffeine and nicotine during manic episodes - Caffeine and nicotine can both act as stimulants, which can make symptoms worse. Plus, too much caffeine can change your sleeping habits.
  9. Seek treatment immediately

Getting treatment immediately will help you to proactively manage symptoms of a depressive or manic episode and avoid disruptions to your life. Often you don't notice early signs or symptoms, so take the time to educate whoever is closest to you what signs and symptoms to look for. They can alert you when they see a change that suggests the beginning of a mood episode. Show them you welcome such feedback, and be sure to take it seriously if you get it

I'm unable to sleep deeply since a week. It's like I take naps in the nights. I was tensed for my studies because of the lengthy course when my exam dates weren't published. But now as they are declared, I feel relaxed but still can't sleep. I don't know the reason. My doctor advised me to meet a psychologist, who has given me some medicines and now I am able to sleep properly as well. My query is that will I get habitual to these medicines and depend upon them throughout my life? Or is it okay to take them? Also suggest me what should I do to sleep properly as when I don't, my head start aching badly as I have migraine too. Suggest me some natural stress relievers as I think stress is the reason for my sleeplessness. Also if you find any other reason please let e know.

Dear Aayushi. Your present problem is stress related. Please understand stress. Stress is simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. In other words, it's an omnipresent part of life. A stressful event can trigger the “fight-or-flight” response, causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body. A little bit of stress, known as “acute stress,” can be exciting—it keeps us active and alert. But long-term, or “chronic stress,” can have detrimental effects on health. You may not be able to control the stressors in your world, but you can alter your reaction to them. Physical exercise, creative activities, deep breathing, being away from the situation for sometime etc can help you tackle the stress. Stress disorder is usually treated with a combination of psychiatric medicines, psychotherapy, life style changes, meditation and exercise. Once you make the necessary amendments in your life with the help of the above said therapies and life style changes, learn how to manage the depressive episodes without medicines and learn to relax, the medicines can be weaned off over a period of one year. There are no side effects for the medicines and if you continue for more than one month, you will be addicted. Please consult a psychologist online or in person for advise, counseling and therapy. Take care.

I used to have severe stomach pain & vomiting during periods . Periods are regular.
As your periods are normal you need not worry much about it. The pain will be present for some girls of your age, you can take tablet cyclopam one or two in a day depending up on the severity of the stomach, which will give relief to the stomach pain and vomiting. Over a period of time usually after your marriage these episodes will stop. Good luck.

I am 49 yr old male dm2 + htn since 10 yrs. Pressure normal 130/ 80 with medication repace 25mg + stamlo (amlodipine) 2.5mg and blood glucose control pp 120 with zoryl 1mg at the time of break fast but fasting readings vary between 6.5 - 7.5. I take metformin extended release 1000mg after supper. But the fasting readings never fall below 6.5. I am sports enthusiast and play badminton thrice a week at expert level. With exercise in the evening the reading tend to rise as my intake goes up. Please advise me any long acting glucose control medicine for 24 hrs control well within 5.8. My hb1ac has always been well below 7.0 mostly remains 6.5. If hb1ac readings are well with in the range can ignore the fasting readings or is it equally important to maintain the fasting reading below 5.8 to prevent cardiac issues later. I also take cholesterol lowering drug fibator - half tab to maintain my ldl well below 80. Should you need any further details please write to me. Last but not the least use of sulfonylurea antidiabetic drug in the morning some cause hypo close to lunch time. I am worried of the side effects of this drug in long term. Kindly advise me alternate if any to this. My staple food is rice with daal, curry and curds. Pure veg

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Looking at your details it appears your diabetes is in check. Slight high fasting is no problem. Nowadays hba1c level is looked at as guideline to assess control. You need not change anything. If pp levels go up can add voglibose 0.3 mg three times with each meal. Otherwise you are doing well. While playing if you feel levels are low always carry candy or gluco tabs.
