Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.

For Leg Pain, please follow the below advise : Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

I have pain in my back on left side below my chest. Even though it goes away after some time. It hurts a lot .I don't have trouble running or while doing physical activity. What is the problem?

Back pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Avoid bending forward while working on lap top or for any other work. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and move around. *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Don’t carry laptop or any load on your shoulder. Carrying very light loads equally with both hands is better *Sit straight so that back bone gets proper support. A dining chair is better than a laid back sofa. *You can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good *Soft bed will not give proper support to your back bone. Hard bed with thin mattress and thin pillow is better. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. To start with, take Rhus tox 200--once daily in the morning and evening for 6 days

I am a long distance runner. Run approx 10 km on an average 5 times a week. But I am experiencing tremendous pain in the ITBS since a last few months. Every time I run a half marathon I get swelling in the ITBS and I have been taking enough rest but the pain aggravates again if I commence running. I can't afford to stop running and need a permanent resolution. Please help!

Get up close & personal with your inner thigh Don’t foam roll your ITB Get off your butt & stretch it Hips don’t lie – make them stronger! Stretch your hip flexors Surprise – a bonus tip…. Denial is not a place you want to spend – or waste – your time. Trying to ‘run through it’ will not work. Taking a few days off running to rest it generally doesn’t work either. Unfortunately ITB pain has the potential to be a long term problem if you don’t get on the front foot and take action at the first sign of a problem. Of course, it should go without saying that taking these actions on a weekly basis even BEFORE the first sign of a problem is the best plan of attack!

For Ankylosing Spondylitis the best suggestion to do general aerobic exercises which includes breathing and all the other exercises which involves the total movements of the proximal joints ie. Neck, shoulder, elbow in the upper limb and in the lower limbs, trunk, hip, knee movements which will facilitate to improve the normal range of motion of the joints thereby improving the blood circulation. You can also try swimming activity, tread mill, cycling etc.

U have to maintain a good posture nd cut down the long sitting posture, do back strengthening exercises, nd take 7 to 10 days physiotherapy session, it will normalises soon.

As I'm busy with laptops, I sit nearly more than 12 hours a day before my laptop. Is that cause any problem in future? I got back pain from the last couple of weeks. I don't know sure, whether pain is due to my sitting position. I followed homeopathy medication nearly for 8 years. I hate allopathy at any cost. Tell me your suggestions. THANKS.

Dear lybrate user Prolong sitting or standing positions can affect pain or stiffness to back or neck.thats because of your body/ muscular system remains at same stage or resting stage. it (bones &muscles) gets good nutrition, oxygen as well as good circulation while they are in active stage.Position should be correct while working. you must add some activities as cycling, walking or running, etc.in routine. it will strengthen your body and speed up body metabolism too.you must take mini breaks while working and do simple stretch to muscles.
