Fennel seeds can give you relief from other indigestion symptoms like gas and bloating, too. •Add one teaspoon of crushed fennel seeds to a cup of hot water and let it steep for eight to 10 minutes. Remove from heat, allow it to cool and strain it. Add a little honey and drink it slowly. Also take Colocynth 30 - one dose for pain when required.

Piles Haemorrhoids, also known as piles, are swellings containing enlarged blood vessels found inside or around the bottom (the rectum and anus) No matter what you go in for allopathy/homeowners or ayurveda, here are a few points that you can use .gradually increasing the amount of fibre in your diet – good sources of fibre include fruit, vegetables, wholegrain rice, wholewheat pasta and bread, pulses and beans, seeds, nuts and oats drinking plenty of fluid – particularly water, but avoiding or cutting down on caffeine and alcohol not delaying going to the toilet – ignoring the urge to empty your bowels can make your stools harder and drier, which can lead to straining when you do go to the toilet avoiding medication that causes constipation – such as painkillers that contain codeine losing weight if you're overweight exercising regularly – this can help prevent constipation, reduce your blood pressure, and help you lose weight These measures can also reduce the risk of haemorrhoids returning or even developing in the first place. Medication that you apply directly to your back passage (topical treatments) or tablets bought from a pharmacy or prescribed by your GP may ease your symptoms and make it easier for you to pass stools. There are various treatment options for more severe haemorrhoids. One of these options is banding, a non-surgical procedure where a very tight elastic band is put around the base of the haemorrhoid to cut off its blood supply. The haemorrhoid should fall off after about a week. Surgery carried out under general anaesthetic, where you're unconscious, is sometimes used to remove or shrink large or external haemorrhoids.

I wanted to inquire for my mom about vertigo. The doctor has given her medicine for the same and asked to continue with the course for 3 months. But the effect of the medicine is very temporary. As in, the symptoms like loss of balance and blankness return as the effect of the medicine fades. Is this how the treatment proceeds. Is it normal or should the effect be more permanent?

Vertigo is a medical term which describes a sense of rotation even while stationary. It can often be confused with lightheadedness, generalised weakness, dizziness . Vertigo may be caused by problems in your peripheral (Ear &balance mechanism inside ear known as the vestibular system) or central nervous system. A complete checkup is required to isolate the cause. Peripheral vestibular  system causing vertigo symptoms may need initial medications to stabilise followed by Vestibular Rehabilitation  exercises. A good quality  of life can be achieved if properly managed. Basic investigations: A Pure tone audiometry  and tympanometry  can detect any problem in the ear nerves and tympanic membrane pressure (both of which can be abnormal in case of ear diseases) An Xray of the Cervical Spine (AP /Lat/Lat-oblique to check for cervical spondylitis CT brain and a complete  haemogram  are some of the baseline tests needed for a good evaluation  of vertigo. A cause of vertigo often difficult to diagnose is  BPPV Benign Paroxysmal  positional vertigo BPPV can be treated with Epleys manoeuvre  and Vestibular  Rehabilitation  exercises. With regular vestibular exercise you can be symptom free  and lead a normal life. You have not mentioned  whether your mom has Hypertension  ,DIABETES, Or any other problems.  Any blood tests done like PPBS, Thyroid function  tests, complete haemogram .Any history of head injury or neurological  problem?  Dizziness can be due to generalised weakness, Cardiovascular ,neurological or Ear-brain-balance problem. *Hope this helps Thanks
