To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1.Start with changing your lifestly. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2.Eat Healthy – Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food, pepsi, sugary stuff etc. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a.Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B.Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C.If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D.Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E.Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F.You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G.You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow the regimen of weight gain religiously and you will soon start seeing the results.

To gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

Hai lybrate-user, decreased hemoglobin levels are due to many causes, extends from infection to chronic diseases. Firstly you can start with having healthy iron rich foods like- pomegranate, beetroot, jaggery, green leafy vegetables. And take iron tablet/syrup for a month, if your hemoglobin levels increases slightly, dn continue the same, if not you hav to undergo few tests to find out the proper cause. In case of females, excessive blood loss during periods is also a cause.

Dear Lybrate user, 1.Avoid eating fried food. 2.Limit your sugar intake. 3.Eat one cooked meal and the rest fruits and dairy. 4.Drink plenty of water. 5.Limit portion size. You may eat 4-6 boiled potatoes throughout the day in form of raita, tikkis (not deep fried) or subji. Have two meals of potatoes and curd, two of fruits and one snack of low fat milk. Have sabudaana khichdi and kheer. Have lots of fruits, nuts, paneer and drink lots of water.

If you can follow this diet you will start loosing weight very fast. Breakfast= fruits only. Abundant amount. Lunch/dinner= half plate salad, 1 katori sprouts, green vegetables 2 to 3 katori, daal 2 to 3 katori, only 1 roti in one meal. Stop having: milk, milk products, refined foods, packaged food of any kind like bread namkeen buiscuits maida etc. Do light excercise for two hours daily slowly without straining yourself.

Dear sir, I am suffering from thyroid fro the past three years i. E, from 2012. I am female and 29 years old now my height is 5'2 and weight is 80kgs. I got married 10 years back and blessed with two children. In 2012 my thyroid istsh. 5.57. In 2013&2014 it is tsh 10.7. Recently I have checked it is tsh5.33. Also suffering with sciatica pain and severe body and bones pains and of course putting lot of weight and I got thyroid. After my children births I am 65kgs. for sciatica pain you can take tab. ultracet sos. tab. nerurobion forte once a day. For prevention of hair fall follow these instructions: ��� Do not take A lot of stress and take proper sleep of 6 - 7 hours. Do meditation to destress yourself. You can do Pranayams or take long deep breaths whlie closing your eyes I a peaceful environment for at least 8-10 minutes. ��� Add protein containing items in your foods for healthy hair growth such as take a bowl of cereal daily and a glass of milk or 100 gm cheese or 1-2 eggs.. ��� To reduce hairfall and whitening of hairs, Practice Yogasana like Shirshasana and Sarwangasana only under the guidance of Expert. ��� you can use mahabhringraj oil and apply it 3 times in a week massage your scalp for 10 to 15 minutes daily. It increases blood circulation in your scalp and enhances hair growth. * Avoid intake of any medicines because they cause toxicity & hairfall. ��� Avoid the excess use of products such as hair colours or shampoo. * Take Vitamin-E rich foods like dry fruits (Almonds, Pista etc) daily. * Take 1/2 teaspoon of Amla powder with water once a day. * Apply the egg yolk to the scalp atleast once a week.
