My name is Dr Vinod Raina. I’m a sexologist. We will be talking today on the topic of ED.

What can be the causes for ED?

Basically, it has been seen that number of patients who are chain smokers, who smoke approximate 10-15 or 20 cigarettes a day, they have this disease called ED.

What happens, what are the causes? And why smoking is responsible for ED?

Basically, when a patient smokes, the smoke goes into the lungs, and then from the lungs, the smoke is transported to all the parts of the body through the vessels. These vessels are choked by the smoke, and the microvessels, present in all the parts of the body gets stenosed and then the blood circulation does not take place properly. So, a penis is the first and foremost part of the body which gets affected because there are a number of micro-vessels present in the penis and these arteries, or veins, or micro-vessels get choked and the circulation of blood gets compensated and then this process of ED starts in the body.

So what we can do?

Definitely, you have to stop smoking. There are people who smoke 15-20 cigarettes per day, it is very high. You please stop smoking.

Moreover, it has been seen that some patients who are drinking, who drink heavily and been drinking with smoke, the WHO recommendation is only 2 pegs per day. That means, not more than 60-90 ml of alcohol. But there are people, youngsters, who drink, 5 to 8 to 10 pegs a day, so there’s a huge consumption of alcohol.

What it leads?

It leads to severe stress in the body and this stress leads to the erectile dysfunction. Moreover, it has been seen that there are people who work from morning to evening, they don’t have time for a walk, their lifestyle is not good, they take junk food, they drink carbonated drinks, these things also effect Erectile dysfunction. So, if you want to lead a healthy life:

  • You have to walk for 45 minutes a day
  • You have to take a proper diet.
  • You have to take at least 10-15 almonds every day
  •  2-3 walnuts every day, and if you are a non-vegetarian.
  • You can take fish two times a week, and if you are a vegetarian, then definitely, you can take broccoli, two to three times a week or you can take kaali urad ki daal.

That definitely will solve your problem.

And if the problem is not solved by these things, then definitely you have to visit a sexologist who can treat your problem.

8 Health Risks Men Should Watch Out For

8 Health Risks Men Should Watch Out For

While some men think they're supermen, in truth, health risks are their kryptonite. Whether it's because of their lifestyle choices or some other reason, men should watch out for the following health risks.

1. Heart Disease. According to the CDC, this is the leading cause of death for American males. Regardless, if they have African-American, Asian or other descent. Globally, the male death rate for cardiovascular disease is 80 percent. So take care of your ticker by incorporating cardio exercise in your lifestyle and Omega-3 rich foods in your diet.

2. Stroke. A stroke is the leading cause of death around the world in both men and women. A healthy diet, exercise, a controlled blood pressure and regular checkups can lessen the risk of having a stroke.

3. Lung Cancer. Ninety percent of all lung cancers come from regular inhalation of tobacco smoke. Quit smoking at any age and you'll remarkably reduce your risk of lung cancer. Actually, besides lung cancer, smoking may also lead to other cancers like mouth, kidney and stomach cancer.

4. Prostate Cancer. This type of cancer is the second most common cancer among men. In fact, one out of seven men are diagnosed with prostate cancer. One out of six men is at risk of prostate cancer, and it's fatal for one in 35. Early detection is crucial for this cancer to be treated successfully. However, if left untreated it can spread to the bones or the liver.

5. Depression. This disease is as complicated as it is deadly. Depression isn't just about deep sadness. In men, it can manifest in aggressive behavior or excessiveness (like drinking too much). Compared to women, men are less likely to commit suicide. However, men are more successful at carrying it out when they do. If you feel like you are at the onset of depression, seek professional help immediately.

6. Alcoholism. An occasional drink is okay. However, when you find yourself unable to go through your day without regularly having several drinks, then you might have a problem. According to research, 3.14 million men die worldwide because of alcoholism. The deadly practice leads to several health risks like liver and kidney trouble.

7. Type 2 Diabetes. Diabetes is the primary reason for obesity, heart attack, blindness, stroke, kidney failure and amputation. However, it can easily be avoided with the right diet and regular exercise.

8. Urinary Tract infection. While women are more prone to UTIs because they have a shorter urethra, men commonly have it as well because of their drinking habits. A UTI can seriously affect the kidneys and bladder if treated.

How to Solve Penis Odor Problems?

How to Solve Penis Odor Problems?

When it comes to penis problems, it's safe to say the most common issue is penis odor. Depending upon the guy, a smelly penis can show up even a few hours after a good shower during which he practiced proper penis care and good hygiene. For other guys, penis odor might not start to show up until he finishes a tough gym workout, spent a long day out at the lake or otherwise got hot and sweaty without the opportunity for another shower.

The good news is that a man can often keep penis odor at bay by simply doing a few things every single day. These steps will help ensure a guy doesn't wind up in an embarrassing situation.

But what causes penis odor?

A man might become quite frustrated at the fact that it can be tough to eradicate penis odor. In order to understand how to fight this particular penis problem, a guy should know what caused it in the first place. Though a man might practice excellent hygiene, he still can't stop the buildup of bacteria that naturally occurs on the human body. These bacteria love dark, damp areas - which are often found around the penis. In addition to the bacteria that causes odor, other factors contribute, such as the occasional drop of urine, sweat that clings to hair in the area, and other bodily fluids.

In men who are uncut, smegma buildup might also be a problem. Smegma is a layer of white, cheesy buildup that usually occurs right below the hood of the penis. This buildup is made of dead skin cells, skin oils, and bacteria that are attracted to the area. The result is a wicked penis odor, one that can be strong enough to stop a man in his tracks.

How to solve penis odor

  • Penis odor can be tackled through excellent hygiene, which includes bathing or showering at least once a day. A man should use a mild cleanser. When cleaning the penis area, he should take care to work the cleanser into the hair, thus stripping away the sweat and bacteria there. He should also pull back the hood of the penis and clear away any smegma (assuming he is uncut, of course).
  • And speaking of cleansers, the one a man chooses can make or break the penis odor situation. That's because when the penis skin becomes very dry, it often develops tiny cracks. These cracks are a perfect harbor for bacteria, which can then multiply merrily and lead to intense penis odor. A well-moisturized penis allows much less opportunity for bacteria to set up shop.
  • A man should also take care to shower or bathe at certain times of the day. For instance, a guy who has just gone to the gym should take the time to shower immediately after his workout, thus getting rid of all that sweat that built up while he was working out. A man who notices a buildup of penis odor during the day might want to take two showers, one in the morning and one in the evening, to help alleviate the problem. And of course, before getting intimate with a partner, a guy will want to shower and make sure everything is fresh down there.
  • In addition to this careful attention to penis care, a guy should reach for a top-notch penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). This can be applied on a daily basis, thus helping ensure the best defense possible against penis odor. Look for a crème that contains vitamin A, also known as retinol, which has powerful antibacterial properties. A crème should also contain vitamin C, B5 and D, all of which are known for helping to fight diseases and bacteria. Finally, look for a crème that has plenty of Shea butter and vitamin E. Both are natural hydrators that can keep skin smooth and supple.

Male Sexual Health

Male Sexual Health

When it comes to male menopause, there is quite a debate swirling about the question of just how common it really is - or if it is real at all. The fact of female menopause is well-documented and is an accepted part of life for every woman, as they will all go through 'the change.' But what about men? Doesn't it make sense that a guy will suffer through the same decline in hormone production that women deal with at some point in their lives? In fact, men who practice good penis care and pay attention to overall health might notice some signs that lead them to believe male menopause is, indeed, very real.

Is male menopause real?

  • Much of the debate on whether male menopause is real centers on the changes in hormone production. Science has proven that males do suffer from a drop in male hormones throughout their lives; however, that drop is very gradual and can take place over several decades. In addition, though they might suffer symptoms from those changes, the symptoms are usually not severe and do not take place all at once. And finally, men who undergo a lowering of male hormones usually do not become infertile because of it.
  • Compare this to female menopause, which is quite different. For women, the hormone drop is rather sharp, and the symptoms that come along with it can seem to happen all at once - within a matter of a few short years. The symptoms can be severe enough to interfere with a woman's day-to-day life. And of course, when a woman goes through menopause, her child-bearing days are decidedly done, as she will be infertile when the hormone drop is complete.
  • Therefore, when it comes to male menopause, the answer is two-fold: Yes, it is real, because many men suffer the symptoms. But no, it isn't actually menopause, because it doesn't carry the severity for a man that it does for a woman.

Dealing with the symptoms

  • However, that doesn't mean a man won't have to deal with a variety of symptoms that can be confusing or annoying. One of the most troublesome symptoms of the male hormone drop is a corresponding decrease in sex drive. A man who was raring to go a decade ago might now be surprised to find that he doesn't really care to get it up - and that when he does want to, he simply can't do it as often, or as well.
  • Much of this comes from the simple process of aging. As a man ages, his production of male hormones drops, until he is suffering from a variety of issues. The biggest of these is the decrease in male sex drive, but other problems include weight gain, irritability, lowered levels of energy, a drop in self-esteem, depression and even some mental confusion from time to time.
  • The good news is that there are ways to combat the problem. Men should pay close attention to their overall health, including trying to lose the weight, exercising regularly, eating right and taking steps to manage stress and get enough sleep. Besides that, hormone replacement therapy might help a man whose symptoms are really messing with his quality of life.
  • Between improving overall physical health and possibly turning to hormone therapy, a man might find that his sex drive goes up accordingly.

In the meantime, keeping the penis itself in good health can help avoid many a penis problem, including some of the troublesome symptoms of male menopause. A specially formulated penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) is a great step toward this better health. A crème that contains a variety of beneficial vitamins, such as A, C, B5 and D, is a great place to start. Powerful amino acids, combined with vitamins in a soothing Shea butter and vitamin E base, can keep the skin smooth, supple and ready for action.

Penis Skin - Understanding Dermatological Descriptions

Penis Skin - Understanding Dermatological Descriptions

Doctors are accustomed to using words that may sound foreign to lay people. They've spent years in college and medical school using these terms, so they come easily, like second nature. But when a guy finds a penis skin issue has suddenly appeared, he doesn't have time to bone up on his dermatological phrases and definitions before seeking out the doc. He just wants to know if the penis skin issue is a serious penis health issue, and what he needs to do about it.

There are scores of dermatological descriptions, and most of us don't really know the exact meanings. A bump is a bump, a rash is a rash. But chances are that when the dermatologist is asking questions, or is examining a guy's privates and telling him what they see, they're going to describe his penis skin with terms that mean more to them than to the patient. With that in mind, here are a few common dermatological descriptions that it pays to understand.

- Macule. A macule is an area of skin that is a different color than the skin surrounding it, but which generally is not raised, like a bump or a lump. On penis skin, macules tend to be very small, less than 1 cm in diameter.

- Patch. But what if a macule is larger than 1 cm? Then it's not a macule anymore; it's a patch.

- Lesion. Any abnormal change in tissue is referred to as a lesion. A "gross" lesion is not necessarily repugnant; it just means that it is large enough that it can be seen by the naked eye. (If it requires a microscope to be seen, it's called a histologic lesion.)

- Papule. A small lesion (usually less than 1 cm) that is raised to some degree (and therefore could be considered a bump). Pearly penile papules are a common penis skin issue for many men. Papules can be any color.

- Plaque. In dermatological terms, plaque is basically a larger (bigger than 1 cm) papule. It's not higher than a typical plaque, and the top tends to be flat. They also usually have a well-defined border or edge.

- Nodule. An even larger papule (bigger than 1.5 cm) may be a nodule. Unlike a plaque, nodules are taller than a papule.

- Blister. A little "bag" of skin that is filled with some fluid is referred to as a blister. The fluid is usually clear-ish, but sometimes it may contain blood and therefore will take on a reddish hue.

- Vesicle. A vesicle is a blister smaller than 1 cm. When the vesicle is cut and the fluid runs out, the vesicle generally collapses.

- Bulla. If a vesicle is bigger than 1 cm, it is considered a bulla.

- Pustule. When the fluid inside a vesicle is made up of neutrophils, it is called a pustule. Neutrophils are a kind of white blood cell, important in the make-up of the immune system.

- Ulcer. An ulcer is a sore on the skin which causes some loss of skin tissue. The area is often red due to infection and inflammation.

- Verrucous. This describes a lesion that is pebbly or rough.

- Umbilicated. Umbilicated refers to a lesion with an indentation in the middle. These kinds of lesions are most often caused by a virus.

Understanding dermatological terms can make it easier to grasp what may be wrong with a particular penis skin issue. Penis skin will have less chance of damage if it is kept healthy through the regular use of a superior penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Because penis skin can become dry and scaly, using a crème with proper moisturizing capability is essential. Choose one that contains both a high-end emollient (such as Shea butter) and a natural hydrator (like vitamin E). It's also wise to select a crème with vitamin C, which helps in the production of collagen and gives penis skin the tone and elasticity it needs.

It is the release of semen from the penis at orgasm. Semen is made up of sperm and fluid from testes (singular testis), seminal vesicles and prostate gland.

When a man is sexually stimulated, the brain sends signals to the genital area through nerves in spinal cord that causes contraction of pelvic muscles. Waves of pelvic muscle contractions transport the semen from the testes to tip of penis through vas deferens. This is called ejaculation or orgasm (colloquially to cum, shoot, blast or bust).

What is premature ejaculation (PE)?

PE means 'cumming too soon', that is, a man ejaculates before he is ready for it and he has no control over it.

Studies have shown that most men ejaculate between 2-5 minutes after penetration. This time frame is again arbitrary since it can differ from men to men, couple to couple, between cultures and other factors. So, for practical reason, if ejaculation occurs within 1 minute of penis entering into a vagina, it is called premature ejaculation. It is the commonest sexual problem in men and affects all ages.

What are the causes?

  • Premature ejaculation can be primary or secondary.
  • Primary or lifelong PE is when a man has not had control of ejaculation from the time of his first sexual experience. It can be caused by a chemical imbalance in brain centres that lowers the threshold for ejaculation.
  • Secondary or acquired PE is usually when there has been a period of normal functioning before premature ejaculation began. Secondary premature PE is often linked to psychological factors like stress, performance anxiety, relationship issues and impotence.

How is it diagnosed?

There are no tests or scans to diagnose PE. If you have premature ejaculation, you need to see your local doctor and a diagnosis is made based on your history.

What treatments are there for premature ejaculation?

Treatment for PE may involve sex therapy, behavioural techniques, medications, local gels and creams, and treatment of other conditions like erectile dysfunction.

Sex therapy is administered by a person called sex therapist. This is particularly important if the cause of premature ejaculation is psychological like relationship issues and anxiety. Sex therapist provides counselling to address these issues.

There are mainly two behavioural techniques that can be used for treating premature ejaculation:

Seman's 'stop start' technique and Masters and Johnson's 'squeeze' technique.

How to perform Seman's 'stop start' technique

  • Arouse yourself sexually by playing with your penis or ask your partner to stimulate it for you
  • Once you are fully aroused and feel you are close to ejaculation, stop playing
  • Wait for some time until the feeling of ejaculation passes away
  • Once the feeling has passed, you can restart stimulating your penis
  • Repeat this cycle 5-6 times until you finally ejaculate
  • Once you feel more confident with this technique, you can actually practice this after entering your partner. Start thrusting your partner until you feel you are close to ejaculation, stop thrusting and divert your attention to something else. Once the ejaculation feeling passes away, resume thrusting and stopping until you finally ejaculate.
  • How to perform Masters and Johnson's 'squeeze' technique

Once you are fully aroused and feel you are close to ejaculation, squeeze the tip of the penis between your thumb and index finger (or your partner can squeeze it for you) for several seconds until the feeling of ejaculation passes away. Repeat this squeeze and release technique for as long as you can until you finally ejaculate.

What medications are used to treat PE?

  • You need to see your local doctor to get medications prescribed for PE.
  • Dapoxetine (Priligy) is the only medication that is specific to the treatment of premature ejaculation. It is taken 'on-demand' only, one to three hours before sexual intercourse.
  • Some antidepressants have the side effect of delayed ejaculation and used for premature ejaculation. They include SSRIs like fluoxetine, paroxetine and sertraline and tricyclic antidepressant called clomipramine.
  • If PE is associated with erectile dysfunction, Viagra, Cialis or Levitra may be prescribed by your doctor.
  • Local anaesthetic creams and gels can reduce penile sensation and help premature ejaculation. They should be applied up to 30 minutes before sexual intercourse.
  • Using two condoms can reduce penile sensation and help a man take longer to ejaculate.

Just remember

Premature ejaculation is a very common sexual problem in men and affects all ages. It can cause embarrassment and anxiety and affects a man's self-esteem. It can affect both partners emotionally and sexually. There are many treatments available including sex therapy, behavioural techniques and medications but you need to seek help early. It is very important for partners to discuss this openly and get help from a doctor or other health care professionals.

Penis Health

A man places a great deal of worth on his penis. After all, it's the part of him that brings such incredible pleasure, not only to himself, but to his partners. It's the part that all men seem to talk about and compare. Has anyone ever heard a man talk fondly about the shape of his nose, or guys comparing the size and shape of their earlobes? Given how important this part of the body is, guys already know that good penis care is essential.

But do they know exactly how to maintain their penis health so that they can not only have a more handsome penis, but fewer penis problems as well? There are a few things men need to keep in mind, whether they are revamping their old routine for penis care or starting out for the first time on this very important journey.

1. Careful cleaning is a must. The penis is usually very warm, encased in clothing that keeps it in the dark, and a little moist from the sweat and other body oils that surround it. The result is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. That's why a daily cleaning is so important. A man should look for a good cleanser that will not dry out his skin, and wash the area with warm water on at least a daily basis. It is important to clean every part of the penis, especially under the foreskin for intact men. When the cleaning is done, pat dry the penis - never rub, as this can create irritation.

2. Take care to use lubrication. Whether a guy is playing on his own or with a partner, adequate lubrication can remedy all sorts of penis problems before they have a chance to begin. Going at it without lube might seem okay at first, but remember that the sensitive penis skin is made up of all sorts of delicate nerve endings, which are maintained by tiny blood vessels right underneath the skin. Lots of friction but not lube means that those blood vessels might suffer injury, which in turn can contribute to scar tissue, neither of which bode very well for a handsome penis.

3. Avoid sexually transmitted diseases. This seems like a no-brainer, but it's surprising how many men choose to have sex without a condom 'just this once' and think there will be no serious consequences from that fact. And sure, a man might get lucky from time to time, but eventually the lack of protection will catch up with him. The result could easily be penis bumps, warts, red spots and discharge, as well as penis pain. Though many conditions can be treated fully, some might leave behind scars or worse, stay around forever, like herpes - and lurk there until another outbreak that ruins the look of a guy's handsome penis.

4. Use a top-notch penis health crème. The importance of an excellent penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) cannot be stressed enough. A good crème will contain a plethora of vitamins. These should include vitamin A, also known as retinol, which is known for maintaining skin health. Another is vitamin B5, also known as pantothenic acid, an essential nutrient often found in high-end skin crèmes. Vitamins C, D and E help ensure further maintenance of healthy penis skin. Amino acids that ease peripheral nerve damage can help the penis that has been enjoyed a little too much, and the wonders of Shea butter can help keep skin supple and smooth. Applying a crème like this daily after a shower is the perfect way to ensure a healthy, handsome penis.

How to Ease Penis Pain and Swelling?

How to Ease Penis Pain and Swelling?

When a man suddenly begins suffering from penis pain and swelling, especially in the wake of a romantic moment or two, it can easily lead to panic. It's quite natural to feel fear when pain arrives, and especially so if that pain is in the penis or surrounding area. But the good news is that prompt and careful penis care can help a man overcome most cases of penis pain and swelling.

Here's what to do during those panicked moments when a man is sure his penis will never be the same:

- Put on the brakes. Whatever was happening before the pain and swelling began, it's time to stop it, completely. If a man was coupling when it happened, he should stop immediately and explain to his partner what's going on. If he was masturbating, things just suddenly became entirely hands-off. If the pain and swelling began at any other time, a man should think back to what he was doing before - retrace his steps, so to speak - and try to figure out what might have sparked this unwelcome result.

- Get clean. A man will want to rule out the possibility of an allergic reaction, so he must make sure his penis is entirely clean. That means jumping into the shower or rinsing off at the nearest sink. Though most causes of penis pain are not the result of an allergic reaction, it helps to have a clean slate to begin from when he takes steps to minimize the pain and swelling.

- Reach for home remedies. A cool compress and a good dose of ibuprofen will help relieve the soreness, pain and swelling of a penis that has seen a little too much action. A compress can be made from a hand towel submerged in very cold water and wrung out. If using a cold pack from the freezer, make sure to put a thick cloth between the penis and the pack, to avoid the possibility of frostbite. The pain should begin to ease rather quickly once the compress has been applied.

- Evaluate the situation. Once a man has done the above things, he should look at the situation with a level head. Is the pain some of the worst he has ever felt? Then it's time to head to the hospital. Did it begin to ease when he stopped when he was doing and used a cold compress? Then it might be okay to take a wait-and-see approach. If a guy is dealing with intense penis pain or notices other penis problems, such as hardness that won't go away, it's time to call the doctor.

- Get help. If the penis swelling refuses to go away or is accompanied by serious penis pain, it's better to be safe and go see the doctor. Bruises, a burning sensation, any bleeding or other penis problems in conjunction with the pain and swelling should be seen in the emergency room as soon as possible.

Finally, a man can make the most of his good penis health by taking steps to maintain it. This can be done with a specially formulated penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). A man can look for a crème that contains Shea butter and vitamin E, both of which are perfect for hydrating skin and relieving some of the swelling and pain that comes from too much friction. He should also look for a crème with L-carnitine and L-arginine, two amino acids that help the penis heal from trauma and protect the nerve endings, thus helping maintain penis sensation.

When an Erect Penis Is the Last Thing a Guy Wants

When an Erect Penis Is the Last Thing a Guy Wants

For most men, an erect penis is a source of pride and something they want to show off. But when that erect penis happens during a job interview, lunch meeting with the boss or dinner with the in-laws, it's definitely become a penis problem. When a guy has an erect penis at the wrong time, he might try all sorts of tactics to get rid of it, and some of them run counter to his good intentions for proper penis care. Fortunately, there are ways to hide his erect penis until nature decides it's time to deflate the member.

1. Never get abusive. Some guys will choose to pinch, squeeze or use other harsh methods to bring their erect penis into submission. And though a sore penis often deflates just as quickly as it became erect, it's important to remember that this kind of panicky damage control can actually do even more damage than the erect penis ever could. Rather than resort to methods like this, a guy should think things through and find a different solution.

2. Camouflage like crazy. When things get hard, a guy should stay seated. Standing up and walking around will only draw attention to the bulge in his pants, but sitting down and crossing his legs will help hide the problem. He can also throw a jacket across his lap, or even hold a book in a very convenient position to hide what's going on below.

3. Think bad thoughts. While a guy is sitting there, he should be thinking about things that are decidedly not going to turn him on any further. Thinking about paying his taxes, dealing with that awful project at work, or even facing a serious fear - such as a claustrophobic dude crawling through a tight pipe or a man with a fear of heights imagining a fall from a skyscraper - can almost immediately take care of the erect penis problem.

4. Walk properly. If a man must walk around, he should do so with purpose. Simply march right out of the room after saying goodbyes and keep up a fast pace. This helps in two ways: First, it makes the body believe that no, there is not going to be any use for that erect penis, and it can shut down the anticipation. And second, a quick walk will reroute blood flow to the muscles of the body that are now working harder, thus leading to less of an erection.

5. Get it off. If things are truly out of hand, a man should take matters into his hand. If an erect penis refuses to quit and a man is potentially going to embarrass himself horribly if it continues, he can simply excuse himself to the bathroom to rub one out, thus taking care of the problem. But keep in mind that by going at this fast and furious, and probably without lube, a guy runs the risk of irritation, redness and other penis problems. It's an option a guy should only resort to if the erect penis is threatening to cause a real problem.

When the crisis has passed and the erect penis is behaving properly again, a guy can breathe a big sigh of relief - and then set out to make up for any damage done if he did choose to masturbate the problem away. He can do this with a powerful penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin), specially formulated to keep skin smooth, supple and irritation-free. A wealth of vitamins and nutrients applied directly to the penis can help ensure the good ingredients get right to where they are supposed to be. Look for a crème that contains Shea butter and vitamin E for an extra-soothing experience.

Diminished Penis Sensitivity? Don't Make It Worse

Diminished Penis Sensitivity? Don't Make It Worse

When something goes wrong with the body, the owner of that body tends to think about it all the time. From dry skin to medical conditions to something as simple as that pimple in an odd place, it's not unusual at all to obsess about whatever might be going wrong. When it comes to penis sensitivity, a man who knows that his sensation is diminished might take extra time with penis care, scour the internet to find articles on what to do to help the situation, and look high and low for remedies.

But the problem with all this obsession is that it tends to actually make the matter worse. How does that work?

Overthinking is never a good thing

  • It all comes back to the brain. When someone feels any sort of sensation, it's coming from nerve endings that create an impossibly fast loop to the brain. The brain registers the sensation at the same moment the body responds to it. This vivid connection between the body and brain doesn't stop there; it also comes into play whenever a man uses any of his senses.
  • When a man feels a sensual touch, his penis sensitivity depends not only on the nerve endings in the penis itself, but how the brain reacts to those nerve endings. Touches can be more intense when other senses come into play, such as smelling a familiar perfume that turns him on, remembering past encounters, seeing delightful visual images or even feeling an emotional response to the partner. This is almost always a good thing!
  • But on the flipside, a man who is very worried about his penis sensation - or lack thereof - might actually suffer from further problems because he's thinking about it all the time. The worry crowds out all those other senses, making the issues of penis sensitivity even worse. Now, rather than his brain getting all it can from the nerve endings, the sensation is somewhat deadened even further by the fact that his brain is blocked from fully engaging all those senses. Worry has overtaken the situation, and a man is now feeling more diminished response than ever before. As a result, he worries more. It's a vicious cycle.

How to overcome overthinking

If a man truly wants to do all he can to help his penis sensitivity, he needs to stop thinking about it. Yes, that's easier said than done, but here are some tips that can help a man make a real go of relaxing and enjoying the moment:

1. Don't have a set goal. An encounter doesn't have to have an end goal. If the mindset is to simply have fun and see where things go, then the pressure is off, and a man can try out what feels best - not what he thinks should feel best.

2. Take some time out. Rather than indulge in sex or solo play at every opportunity, hoping for a different outcome in penis sensation, a man should go celibate for several weeks. Simply stop messing with the penis. This can allow for much less pressure, but also give the penis a chance to 'reset' and those nerves to long for touch again.

3. Talk during the fun. When with a partner - or by himself - a man can talk his way through what's happening, describing it all in intimate detail. This talking in conjunction with sensation can crowd out anything else that might be in his head and result in less worry, which might result in more sensation.

To protect penis sensitivity and encourage even better penis sensation, a man can turn to a top-notch penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). A crème that contains L-carnitine is a good bet; this amino acid works to heal peripheral nerve damage that can lead to loss of penis sensation. A crème loaded with plenty of other nutrients can also help enhance overall penis health.

Penis Problems

Penis Problems

  • In the meantime, keeping the penis itself in good health can help avoid many a penis problem, including some of the troublesome symptoms of male menopause.

Ensuring Good Penis Health After Circumcision

Circumcision is one of the oldest surgical procedures. Practiced for thousands of years, it can be done for cultural, religious, social or medical reasons. No matter a man's reason for having a circumcision done, it's vitally important that he pays very close attention to good penis care in the days and weeks following the procedure. The more good care he gives himself, the better penis health and sensation he will be able to maintain for the rest of his life as a circumcised man.

Of course, keep in mind that the tips below are for the majority of circumcision cases; a guy who has a more complicated case or other surgical procedures done in addition to circumcision might want to take these tips with a grain of salt. What matters most is following the surgeon's directions for recovery to the letter. And when in doubt, never hesitate to call the physician!

Pursuing an uneventful circumcision recovery

For most men, circumcision can take well under an hour. If there are medical problems, such as a too-tight foreskin or infection, those problems can begin to resolve almost immediately upon completion of the procedure. Here's what to expect from a routine recovery:

1. Expect serious bruising and swelling. This is typical of any surgery, not just one done on the penis. In fact, the bruising after surgery can be quite shocking, so don't be alarmed if it appears that the entire manhood is covered in bruised splotches. This will go away over a matter of weeks.

2. Use the pain medication. Though there isn't significant pain associated with a circumcision, there is still some discomfort. Painkillers will be prescribed, so use them. Don't be surprised if they are only necessary for a few days, however. Many men are surprised at how quickly the pain goes away.

3. Take care with urination. Yes, it's probably going to hurt when a guy pees after the circumcision. To alleviate this, he can drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and dilute the urine. He can also apply a bit of petroleum jelly to the tip of the penis before and after he urinates, to help keep the acidity away from the more sensitive areas.

4. Avoid certain activities and movement. It's important to give the penis ample time to heal. This means all sexual activity is off-limits for at least a few weeks. It also means a guy must be extra-careful not to let the penis bump into anything, suffer any sort of trauma, or otherwise be handled roughly. That means avoiding contact sports and wearing underwear that holds the penis snugly, to avoid the natural side-to-side movement when he walks around.

5. Use only what the doctor prescribes. It might be tempting to use natural oils, creams and the like when the penis is healing. This is never a good idea. Use only the crèmes the doctor suggest during those first few weeks, as the use of anything else could interfere with healing. Though the use of a good penis health crème is encouraged after the healing is complete, don't reach for it while the wound is still healing!

6. Try to avoid erections. That means a guy doesn't want to spend his time looking at adult videos! He also wants to try to avoid nocturnal erections, though this is understandably impossible to eliminate completely. A few tips include ensuring the bladder is always as empty as possible, which might mean getting up a few times at night to urinate. Lying on his side in a fetal position can also help a guy alleviate some of the erections he might get at night.

Finally, remember to keep all doctor's appointments. If anything about the circumcision feels painful, get in touch with the physician immediately.

And once a guy is healed, it's time to reach for the best penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). He will want one that contains a multitude of vitamins and nutrients, especially L-carnitine. This amino acid is known for lessening the chances of peripheral nerve damage and helping preserve penis sensation.

Six Things You Didn't Know About Erectile Dysfunction!

Six Things You Didn't Know About Erectile Dysfunction!

No matter how much you deny, we all know that intimacy is one of the most important parts in any couple's life. It is a sacred, a very pious thing, which keeps both the partners faithful as well as attracted to each other. Just like the woman has to be attractive to her man, the man needs to keep her woman satisfied in bed, too. However, there is something that can cause a lot of disturbance in the lives of both the partners - erectile dysfunction in the man.

Before I give you some unknown facts on this topic, it is essential for you to know a few things about it:

• What is erectile dysfunction (ED)?

It is what you, in simple words, call impotency. It is a sexual dysfunction in which the man is unable to develop as well as sustain the erection of his penis while making love or having sex with his partner. The worst is that a lot of people make fun of such a disturbing issue, that many men go through in their lives.

When a man goes through this issue, he feels terribly helpless, since there is no way in which he can explain himself to his partner, nor is there a way in which he can treat it immediately. No doubt there are treatments for this issue, but they take their own time to help the patient.

Here are some of the hidden facts about this problem:

1) Even though it is quite a common problem in older men, it doesn't mean that every older man is bound to go through it. No doubt the sexual urges decrease after a certain age, but that doesn't mean that every man goes through ED. There are a lot of men, who enjoy getting intimate with their partners, despite being in their late 60s and early 70s. If someone loses interest in intimacy at an early age, he has to get himself checked.

2) You don't have to be of a specific age to go through this issue; you can develop erectile problems at any age. Just because you are young doesn't mean you can be proud of your 'bed-life!' There are chances for you to go through ED even when you are young.

3) ED is not a life-taking disease; however, it may lead to some serious problems in future. Therefore, if someone goes through this, he must get himself treated and not succumb to the dysfunction. If he doesn't want chemically made medicines or chemicals to enter into his body, he can simply visit a nice Ayurvedic doctor, who knows how to treat people with ED. Since such a professional person suggests medicines made from herbs and natural ingredients, he is not stressed about going through any side-effects due to the same.

4) Hormonal imbalances can also lead to ED. If a man has been severely depressed, he is bound to lose interest in intimacy, due to which he may develop this issue. If someone has gone through a 'bad break-up' phase and he has lost his interest in sexual activities, he may go through this problem.

5) Believe it or not - men, who have always had bad teeth, are bound to go through the problem of ED in future. Go to the mirror and check your teeth right now - even if it is a myth, you surely don't want to take a chance on this!

Healthy Penis & Healthy Home: Sex Tips for the Home

A healthy penis is the ultimate goal of all who make proper penis care a priority in their lives, of course. And while a healthy penis is in and of itself a laudable achievement, most men tend to value that health because it increases their ability in bed. Many pursue sex tips to help them have greater impact with their partners, but many don't realize that some home factors can impact penis health and activity - even if they don't directly involve the organ itself.

Yes, high on the top of every guy's sex tips checklist should be this item: Keep the home healthy and inviting. The odds are that a guy's apartment or house is where he is going to see a hefty percentage of his sexual action - so he needs to make sure his abode is inviting and enticing to potential partners.

So these home-based sex tips are recommended to make the journey from the front door to the bedroom more obstacle-free.

- Straighten up. No woman wants to walk into a man's home and find socks and underwear on the living room floor, an empty beer can on the hall table, dirty dishes in the kitchen sink and towels hanging in the bathroom that haven't been changed in two months. If he isn't naturally neat, a guy needs to do a good cleaning on his place whenever he knows that company might be coming over. That doesn't mean washing and scrubbing till the floor sparkles, but make sure the place is neat and presentable and that dirt and dust have been taken care of. And bedsheets? Definitely put a fresh, clean set on.

- Stock up on paper products. Be sure the bathroom has plenty of toilet paper; she's going to be embarrassed (and disappointed) if she has to ask for some. But also be sure to have plenty of tissues, paper towels and napkins on hand to be fully prepared.

- Ask a neighbor to do a sniff test. People get used to the way their homes smell and may not notice odors that have gradually snuck up. And that doesn't apply to just old ladies with a house full of cats. Ask a neighbor or friend (preferably female) if they would mind giving you an honest opinion of whether the home passes the smell test, and correct whatever flaws they find. Your male organ is not going to benefit if the odor-sniffing organ of a potential partner tells them not to stay around.

- Think about the temperature. In general, women tend to be a little more susceptible to chilliness than men. Keep the home warm without overdoing it, and consider keeping a blanket on the sofa, a fire in the living room, etc. And above all, make sure the bedroom is not too cold.

- Flame on. Sure, it's a bit of a cliché, but candles in the bedroom practically scream romance. Besides, scented candles can help disguise any too-manly odors that may linger, and they provide appropriately sexy lighting - bright enough to see what someone is doing but dim enough to disguise any flaws.

With these tips making the home more sex-friendly, that healthy penis will be better set for the kind of good, exciting time it craves. And that health will be easier to maintain with a first class penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Most men will want to select a crème that contains both L-arginine and L carnitine. The former is an amino acid that helps produce nitric oxide, which in turn helps create situations in which penile blood vessels can open wide and be receptive to the blood flow they need during times of arousal. L carnitine is another amino acid, one shown to protect against peripheral nerve damage caused by friction, compression, and other common injuries. This helps prevent numbness or de-sensitization of the penis.

September Is the Urology Awareness Month

September is the Urology Awareness Month. Let's know more about the same.

  • Urology conditions are often associated with a stigma. There are cases wherein one suffers from a urology issue, and still, one might choose to suffer silently instead of trying to find the suitable treatment. It is embarrassment and fear which prevent one from discussing these issues.
  • One might be apprehensive to discuss the issue with his doctor. At times, it might so happen that one may be apprehensive to discuss the issue with his family members as well.
  • It is hence very important to spread awareness about urology issues. One need not suffer unnecessarily, and one must get the required medical aid or assistance, which would enable one to get over the underlying issues.
  • A significant part of urology is the prostate gland and disorders afflicting the same.
  • Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer which afflicts men. A very surprising stat in this regard is that one in every eight men is diagnosed with prostate cancer.
  • But another stat contradicting the first one is that only 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. This just goes to show that a large number of people suffer from the disorder, and still choose to suffer in silence.
  • That is what makes the Urology Awareness Month all the more important.
  • Every year, the Urology Awareness Month makes us more aware about:

Risk Factors and Symptoms of urology issues which affect the people.
While the Urology Awareness Month passes, initiatives are made to educate the people on issues concerning:

  • Prostate Cancer
  • Bladder Cancer
  • Bladder prolapsed
  • Blood in the urine, in a condition also known as Hematuria
  • ED or Erectile Dysfunction
  • Painful Bladder Syndrome or the Interstitial Cystitis
  • Overactive bladder
  • Swelling of the Prostate Gland, which is a condition called prostatitis.
  • Some other types of cancers which are rarer than prostate cancer are:
  • Kidney cancer
  • Testicular cancer
  • Causes and risk factors are variable for each type of cancer. But there are some symptoms of these cancers which all people should be aware of. This would make sure that one is fast to act if one comes to realize that any of the symptoms are present in his being.

Some common risk factors which are associated with urological cancers include:

Exposure to certain chemicals
Smoking

Similarly, some studies have shown that urological cancers could be genetic. One is at a higher risk of being afflicted by a urological cancer if one's parents or siblings are diagnosed with the same.
Some common signs and symptoms of urological cancers which everyone should be aware of include:

  • Painful or frequent urination
  • Passing blood along with urine
  • A sudden urge to urinate
  • Lumps in the abdomen
  • Reduction in appetite
  • High fever

If you happen to notice any of these symptoms in your everyday life, you should seek medical attention with immediate effect.
These symptoms might be reflective of some other critical medical conditions, if not urological cancers. But one must make sure that one gets in touch with a doctor as soon as one notices these symptoms.

In particular for issues relating with urology, if a disorder is diagnosed early, it is a lot easier to figure out the right course of treatment.

Let's run through some interesting facts about urology that one might otherwise not be aware of:

  • Men over 40 years of age are at a higher risk of bladder cancer
  • Similarly, men over 70 are at a higher risk of prostate cancer
  • Studies show that pomegranate juice helps prevent prostate cancer
  • If one has a father, son or a brother who is afflicted with prostate cancer before the age of 65, he must start testing at 40
  • One's prostate is the size of a walnut. It weighs around 1 ounce

Why Penis Dry Rubbing Is a Bad Idea?

Why Penis Dry Rubbing Is a Bad Idea?

When a man is in the mood to get it on, whether with himself or with a partner, he might have a particular way he likes to do things. For some men, that's a dry rubbing of the penis - basically, grasping the penis firmly and moving the skin around the shaft, but not using lube to do so. The result can be explosive, but it can also be detrimental to penis health. Part of good penis care is understanding how this practice can hurt the penis and finding alternate ways to enjoy the sensation but not cause that damage in the process.

Why penis dry rubbing is a bad idea

Penis dry rubbing can cause serious problems. Though it might not seem to be a problem at first - and likely is not a problem for a man who does it only occasionally - someone who uses dry rubbing all the time is setting himself up for issues down the line. Here's why.

1. Microscopic tears. Dry rubbing means the skin is completely unprotected from friction, and the result can be tiny tears and cuts that are impossible to see by simply looking at the skin. However, those tiny tears are more than large enough for bacteria to get in, which can lead to serious infections in the skin.

2. Urethral damage. As a man uses dry rubbing, he causes damage to much more than the shaft. The very tip of the penis, where the urethral opening is, can get pulled quite severely. This might mean tiny tears there as well, and a buildup of scar tissue in, around or near the urethra. This can eventually cause problems with urination.

3. Nerve damage. The nerves in the penis are very delicate; they have to be in order to feel the intense sensations from a feather-light touch. But that also means that they can be easily damaged. Too much dry rubbing can make the nerves fire incorrectly, and eventually deaden them enough that penis sensation just isn't what it used to be.

4. Skin toughening. Any rubbing in the same place over and over can cause callouses. Think about guitar players with callouses on their fingers, or runners with callouses on their feet. The idea is the same when it comes to dry rubbing the penis. The more rubbing it gets, the more likely the skin is to toughen, much like a callous building up on the skin. This leads to significant loss of sensation.

5. Circulatory problems. The penis is filled with tiny blood vessels. These vessels are very important for proper blood flow, as well as helping the penis expand when a guy gets excited. When the penis is clutched too tightly, as if often the case with dry rubbing, those vessels become compressed. Over time, this can lead to loss of sensation thanks to the loss of proper circulation.

6. Peyronie's disease. Peyronie's disease is an abnormal curvature or bend of the penis, often brought about by scar tissue formation in the penis. This might occur thanks to a series of tiny traumas, as to be expected from consistent dry rubbing. Those little traumas lead to a bit of scar tissue here and there, and over time they build up to create a penis that has much more of a curve to it. Another result of Peyronie's disease is a loss of sensation in the area most affected.

7. Sexual problems. When a man turns to dry rubbing all the time, the result can be that he becomes attuned only to that way of doing things. As a result, when he is in bed with a partner, he might have trouble with enjoying it fully. This can lead to serious problems in the bedroom and the relationship.

In addition to avoiding dry rubbing, a man is advised to use a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) on a regular basis. A crème that contains a multitude of vitamins, such as A, C, D and E, as well as a luxurious Shea butter base, can help mitigate some of the damage caused by dry rubbing.

Losing Length! How to Prevent a Short, Small Penis?

Losing Length! How to Prevent a Short, Small Penis?

Men spend a great deal of time thinking about the size and length of their penis. Even a man who is well-endowed often has the feeling that he has, in fact, a small penis. Because of this, men are always looking for ways to improve the length and girth of their member. However, some men face the startling and awful problem of noticing their penis becoming smaller with time. Even if they step up their good penis care regimen, nothing quite seems to work - and so they begin to panic.

The cause behind that sudden smaller penis size is Peyronie's disease. The good news is that it is avoidable! Here's what a man needs to know about this surprisingly common issue.

What is Peyronie's disease?

  • When a man suffers some sort of trauma to the penis, the result is often a buildup of scar tissue where the injury took place. This is quite normal; it's the body's way of healing itself. But when it happens in the penis, it can cause problems. That's because the penis is meant to be elastic, able to stretch impressively when engorged with blood. When there is scar tissue where that elastic tissue is supposed to be, that area doesn't stretch. The result is a penis that bends or curves. This is often referred to as Peyronie's disease.
  • Though some amount of curvature is perfectly normal - in fact, it's a rare man who has a perfectly straight penis! - a very pronounced curve or bend might lead to other problems later, such as pain during intercourse or even pain during erections. And even if a man doesn't suffer that pain, he might notice that the placement of the scar tissue makes his penis enlarge a little bit less than it used to. A guy can actually lose up to an inch of length thanks to the scar tissue buildup.
  • But what if there hasn't been any trauma to the penis? This is what confuses many guys about the situation. Though it's easy to think of 'trauma' as something that happens suddenly, involves a lot of pain and blood, and takes a great deal of time to heal from, that's not usually what causes Peyronie's disease (though it certainly can!).
  • What actually happens is that the penis endures tiny tears and irritations over a long period of time. This can happen over several sessions of rough sex or masturbation, from a man masturbating in a certain position all the time, or from even using the same sexual techniques over and over when he's in bed with a partner. Those tiny tears might be very slight, leading only to soreness from time to time. But each one leaves their mark in the form of tiny bits of scar tissue. Over time, that tissue can build up.

What can be done about a small penis?

The best way to avoid the problem with small penis size is to avoid trauma in the first place. This means varying the masturbation routine, changing up the sexual habits from time to time and taking care not to have a sore, irritated penis.

And if the penis does become sore and irritated, treat it immediately with a high-quality penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Look specifically for a crème that contains vitamin C, which is great for collagen production, as well as vitamin B5, which is great for maintenance of healthy tissue. Shea butter and vitamin E, a one-two punch of hydration, can also help keep the penis skin smooth and supple, thus helping it expand as much as it should. Finally, look for a crème with alpha-lipoic acid, which helps the skin resist the rigors of aging.

The Best Solution for a Sore Penis!

The Best Solution for a Sore Penis!

Many men jump into bed with their eager partner and enjoy several hours of fun, but at the end of it, they are often red and sore. That sore penis is often worn as a badge of pride, as it means a man has put his equipment to very good use. But if the penis is always sore after a good bedroom session, it might mean that a guy should try something a little different. This key point of good penis care is already well-known to many men, but some might need a little refresher.

How to avoid a sore penis

  • When a man is enjoying sex with a partner, there is a lot of friction going on. And that feels great! But after several hours of play, it might wind up costing a guy a bit of comfort - in fact, he might have an incredibly sore penis. Besides that, the penis skin might be red and irritated.
  • Though this might be a badge of pride, it pays to be careful about how often this happens. A man who is constantly dealing with a sore penis might wind up with problems down the road, as his penis skin suffers from the repeated irritation that comes from those wild nights. The result can be everything from loss of sensation to unnatural curvature of the penis, thanks to the tiny traumas the penis ensures during those sessions when not everything is smooth sailing.
  • But there is one very good tip for avoiding a sore penis that has the added bonus of making the bedroom session even better: Engage in more foreplay!

Why is foreplay so important?

  • Entire books have been written about the importance of foreplay, but a lot of it boils down to a few key points. First, foreplay makes sense because both partners deserve to have a good time - and studies have shown that while a man might have a great time without much preparation, a woman needs much more time to get ready and raring to go. The more foreplay involved, the better time she is likely to have.
  • Secondly, it matters in terms of penis health. A man who is engaging in way too much friction might feel great about that, but eventually the result is a sore penis and even damage to the penis skin. And if he feels this way, imagine how his partner must feel! It's not a pleasant experience for either person involved.
  • Engaging in more foreplay doesn't necessarily mean a man has to have a variety of unusual tricks up his sleeve. It might be as simple as taking more time to enjoy the usual beginning activities, such as kissing, touching and whispering sweet nothings to each other. Sure, a guy might employ more use of his hands and tongue to make a woman much happier, but all in all, foreplay is simply about what feels good to both partners - and gets them both hot and bothered enough to enjoy sex without the painful friction that can result if things are too dry.
  • But sometimes, foreplay isn't quite enough. That's when a man should generously employ a high-quality lube. This benefits both partners, of course, and has the added bonus of ensuring that both partners are ready to go again for a morning quickie - because neither one of them are too sore to enjoy it!
  • And as always, a man must take care of his penis health when he's outside the bedroom. This includes the regular use of a good penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) on a daily basis. Look for a crème that contains soothing Shea butter and vitamin E; this one-two punch of hydration helps ensure that the penis skin stays smooth and supple. A man should also look for a crème that contains vitamin C, D and B5, all beneficial for proper blood flow and overall penis health.
