Dear , get urine test done as it appears that she has uti. If urine shows more than 5 pus cells the n ask her to take tab ofloxacin 200 mg twice a day 1 hour before meals with water for 15 days and check urine again to see that urine is normal.

I am 49 years male feeling burning sensation since last 1 month when bladder is full and goes after urination specially during day time in seating position in office chair / bike. Urine route check pus cells 2-4 hpf & epthelial cells 1-2 hpf rest is nil. Taking nifti sr and renalika since last three days. Please advise and what is the cause for this & treatment? thanks.

Dear , likely causes for trouble and treatment are: 1. If you are not taking enough fluids orally the urine could be concentrated which if very irritant in nature so increase fluid intake. 2 if you are constipated and have fissure then it could give you same symptoms if so treat fissure and constipation. 3. another like cause is prostatitis for which you need to take antibiotics for 4-6 weeks but not nifti. Take oflofloxacin 2oo mg twice a day one hour before meals with water and no milk products or food 1 hour before and after the tablet, at the same time keep your sex life active which helps a lot in prostatitis.

How Suitable Is Homeopathy in Treating Kidney Stones?

How Suitable Is Homeopathy in Treating Kidney Stones?

Kidneys stones occur as a result of accumulation of mineral deposits in the kidneys. The size of a kidney stone may vary from person to person and they are noticed only if they create a blockage in the kidney. Apart from the kidneys, they may occur in the urethra, ureters and the bladder. Kidney stones only cause pain when they are pushed into the ureters.

Homeopathy is a system that focuses on treating the cause of the disease and hence is a holistic method of treatment. The various homeopathic remedies for kidney stones are:

  1. Cantharis: Cantharis is recommended if you experience intense pain while urinating; it also helps if you have a constant urge to urinate. You may also notice blood in the urine.
  2. Berberis vulgaris: If you suffer from pain in the kidney resulting from the kidney stone located on the left portion of your body, then this remedy is prescribed. You may also experience stiffness in the kidney region in the early hours of the morning. You may also have a bubbling sensation that worsens while moving your body.
  3. Sarsaparilla: If you are passing white colored deposits in your urine, then sarsaparilla is used to treat the condition. You may also experience intense pain after urinating.
  4. Lycopodium: Lycopodium is a deep acting remedy that is recommended if you pass red deposits through your urine. You may experience very strong urges to urinate at night along with intense pain in the back that gets better after urinating. The pain from the kidney stones tends to worsen during the afternoon.
  5. Benzoic acid: If you show symptoms, such as dark brown urine and high uric acid levels in the body, then this remedy is recommended to treat the condition. Benzoic acid also helps in optimizing the levels of uric acid in the body.
  6. ColoCynthis: This remedy is recommended if you experience intense pain in the urethra while passing stools. You may also pass crystals in your urine.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Dr. my have phosphates positive in urine test and before urine test if she eat she always vomit and nort feel hungry after we go. Hospital they told us phosphates positive Dr. this is any dangerous or it normal and she pregnant 2 and half month.

Dr. my have phosphates positive in urine test and before urine test if she eat she always vomit and nort feel hungry ...
High urine phosphate levels may be caused by kidney diseases, an over-active parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism) and too much vitamin d in the body. During early pregnancy such report is possible even when there is no abnormality. As she is vomiting a lot, you should get urine ketone done which will help her. Also you can repeat the test for phosphate from anothe lab once vomiting subsides.

My Father is 80 years old and he is suffering from BENIGN. Prostate enlarge. Report on SR. PSA is 51.44 ng/ml. Urine ...
The psa value of 51 is quite high. He needs a dedicated ultrasound of the prostate to rule out cancer. He should also be shown to a urologist or uro oncosurgeon to get a digital rectal examination and usg guided multi quadrant biopsy. Sorry to scare you, but usually bph doesn't have such high values, so it is better to evaluate thoroughly.

What foods should a CKD stage 5 patient take & which to avoid? Having no dialysis, but protein in Urine ++.Why tomatoes not allowed ,cooked or uncooked? What about lemon and apple cider vinegar?

1. Know your allotted protein amount and strive to eat that amount each day. Limiting protein helps reduce waste buildup in the blood and can help control uremia. However, a low-protein diet coupled with loss of appetite also puts you at high risk for malnutrition. The recommended amount of protein to eat in stage 5 is 0.6 to 0.75 grams of protein per kilogram body weight. A nutrition assessment by a registered dietitian will determine the right amount of protein for you. 2. Eat enough calories to maintain your weight, even if you are overweight. Inadequate calorie intake may occur in stage 5 CKD due to appetite troubles, gastrointestinal problems, aversion to certain animal proteins, chronic inflammation, medications, depression and other medical conditions such as diabetes or heart disease. Even if you are overweight, a low calorie intake and weight loss is not recommended in stage 5. Aim for adequate calories to prevent weight loss and to help preserve your body’s muscle stores. Ask your doctor or dietitian about a nutritional supplement for a CKD non-dialysis diet if you are experiencing poor appetite and weight loss. 3. Monitor potassium levels that may increase due to low urine output or from medications. Potassium builds up in the body when kidney function declines. Avoid the highest potassium foods and track your potassium level by getting regular blood tests. Tomatoes are thought to increase risk ofr stones in kidney by some people and proscribe it.

Dear lybrate user, a kidney stone is mainly formed due to the accumulation of the minerals present in urine. Such accumulation occurs mainly due to low intake of fluids. Continuous low fluid intake results in the deposits of the minerals over the stone & eventually leads to an increase in the size of the stone. Formation of stone leads to pain along the kidney region. If the size of the kidney stone is below 3mm then it is possible to get rid of it without any surgery. Take homoeopathic mother tincture berberis vulgaris q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water for 15 days. The stone will be expelled through urine in between the span of 15 days of medication. But if the size of the stone is more than 3mm then you should surely go for surgery.
