Can diabetes be spread by eating more amount of sweet substance like sugar, gajrela.
Diabetes is a non communicable disease. There are hereditary predispositions and certain environmental precursors but eating large amounts of sweets does not cause diabetes.

Antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help,

Hi, Is your father having any other symptoms Ina edition to weight loss like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation, fever, night sweats, any lumps in the body, any pain in the body, jaundice, urine or kidney problems, any skin problems etc? Weight loss can be due to many reasons. A few of them are mentioned below 1) general debility due to poor intake of food due to old age 2) infections like TB etc or any other chronic infections 3) diabetes 4) kidney failure, heart failure, liver failure etc 5) gastritis Lisa ding to nausea and lack of appetite 6) any tumours in body etc. All of the above would result in other symptoms in addition to weight loss. Only age related malnutrition in initial stages would give rise to weight loss without their symptoms. So I would suggest you to take him to a good general physician and get him throughly assessed. Hope this helps you. Thank you.

Follow the doctor’s advice properly, in uncontrollable condition only Insulin helps the patient. However, if you write details of medicines and treatment papers, I can advise you specifically. Eat plenty of vegetables Have sufficient fibres in your diet e.g. Salads Cut down on sugar/ sweets Cut down on salty processed foods Cut down on energy dense, processed food - such as crisps, cakes, biscuits and pastries Make at least an hour rigorous physical activity part of your daily life i.e. Jogging/ brisk walking/ running/ gym/ else you like Yoga/ meditation will help you in reducing stress level If you are non-vegies Eat fish regularly Cut down on processed meat but no problem with fresh (unprocessed) meat/ chicken If you are alcoholic/ smoker Cut down on alcohol/ smoking Check your Blood Pressure/ Cholesterol level (Lipid Profile)/ Renal Function Tests regularly. Take medicines regular to keep controlled your blood sugar as advised by your doctor. Remember, not only medicines, all the advices of doctor are precious and very useful. ***All the best***

yes it is true increase in protein intake whether from animal origin or from plant origin or even after excess break down of your own muscles ( because of fasting and exercising) will increse the uric acid.

I am blood sugar patient for last three month. So what should I do to release from it?

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology

I am blood sugar patient for last three month. So what should I do to release from it?
Mr Sanjeet, If you have been diagnosed to have diabetes mellitus (T2), then only way to remain fit and healthy is to take prescribed medication regularly, without missing the dose, take a planned restricted diet, that gives exact calories based on your ideal body weight, sugar levels and extent of physical exercise. Avoid sweets, direct sugar and jaggery, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries. Consume more of green leafy vegetables and salads, permitted fruits (100 g a day). Refrain from alcohol and smoking. This changed life style has to be adapted for your life. The disease does not go away, you have to learn to live with it.

lybrate-user, Both Glycomet 500 mg and 500 mg SR tablets contain same medication Metformin 500 mg. The difference is SR has a formulation which releases the drug over 6 to 8 hours. One of the advantage claimed is SR tends to be better tolerated. Some patients complain of gastrointestinal side effects, then SR is advised. As regards drug action both are same. Thanks.

lybrate-user, Looking at your weight and height it shows grade 1 obesity with a BMI of 34.16 kgs/M2. Which means you are carrying 28 kgs extra weight. This itself can be the cause of burps and nausea. Also get a thyroid assay done, because if TSH is high, then it can cause weight gain plus can also cause feeling cold. Weight reduction will help in better control of blood glucose. Thanks.

I have felt always tired even no longer I work. Loss of appetite, is it not the symptoms of diabetes?

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology

I have felt always tired even no longer I work. Loss of appetite, is it not the symptoms of diabetes?
Mr Santosh Kumar, Feeling tired without any known reason can be a symptom of diabetes. If you have a family history of T2 DM, it is better to get a blood sugar check up done. That will help in clearing the doubt. Apart from feeling tired other symptoms include excess urination, excess thirst, excess hunger and unexplained weight loss. So please a detailed blood check done.
