Addiction of tobacco, smoking , drinking or drugs only depends on yours mind. You have to exercise your mind only. Eat green food and fruits more . Take apple in breakfast daily. Do walk in park and do yoga, exercise and meditation are golden remedies . Which trains your mind within a week. If you do it in an appropriate manner. Close your eyes and feel fresh air think that you do not have a need of any kind of addiction. Do it again and again. Try to find out other good things of your interest. Which will be more fruitful for whole life. Remember. Life is not for wasting. Make it useful and fruitful for urself and for others. make life worth living. dont just pass life, live life....

I have epilepsy I am in medication with Oxytol 300 for two years Since then I haven't experienced any seizures my doctor says it will take 2-3 years to cure. I want to ask what is the reason for it? Can the medication cause long term health risks? My CT scan of brain is normal and my recent EEG report shows" Sharp transients occurring from both hemispheres of brain" as it showed two years before. Am I improving?

If you didn't got any seizures in last 2 yrs it is good I will suggest few points Pl go for morning walk in greenery to give more oxygen supply to brain Do pranayam in greenery Anulom-vilom pranayam is very helpful Do meditation regularly to give rest to your brain Continue your treatment Take Cap Brahmi by Himalaya 2 2 for 3to 6mths Put some cow ghee drops in both nostrils and take deep breath Repeat EEG after 6mths to see the changes

Best age to stop smoking is before 40, In fact do not start all Only by using strong will power and avoiding all situations where you feel like smoking, chewing tobacco or drinking or using drugs avoiding friends who smoke and diverting mind by reading or chewing a gum, like NICORETTE and taking a walk when you crave for a smoke can all help. You can chew Nicorette gum which is nicotine replacement. There are medicines available. Which can be prescribed if asked personally Cigarette smoking is a leading preventable cause of mortality. It kills more than 60 lakh people worldwide every year. More than 50% of regular smokers would invariably die from tobacco-related illnesses which includes heart attack, cancer or asthmatic lung diseases. Best age to stop smoking is before 40 31st May is “World No Tobacco Day” Quitting smoking before the age of 40 is associated with larger decline in premature death than stopping it at a later date. Best age therefore to stop smoking is before 40. However, stopping smoking even after the age of 50 is still associated with lower risk of death as compared to those who continue to smoke. Even in smokers aged 80 years or more, quitting smoking appears to reduce some mortality.

Sir my friend has lack of concentration problem he is not able to stable his mind. Please help.

Your friend must be under some kind of stress which he may not be aware of. As soon as he handles that stress his concentration and memory will happily return! For which he should ideally meet with a counselor. In the meantime let him do the following:Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if he goes to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else he is doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that his brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. He needs to check out if he is stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if he combines the two modes, he will get the best concentration and recall. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that are too long to elaborate here but he can seek that from some courses. If his home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect his memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling.

Dear lybrate-user, welcome to lybrate. You must be able to understand concentration, attention span, recollection and distraction. If you are able to watch a movie for two hours continuously, if you are able to play a game for an hour, then you do not have any concentration problems. You can't be attentive towards your studies because you are not interested in it. You are able to watch movie and play game because you are interested in it. Human cannot be attentive towards anything for more than 10 minutes. If the task is boring, it is natural that that person will sleep or feel sleepy. Then you should study in such a way that your attention is continued and make the subjects are interesting to you. Effective learning techniques should help you. Recollection depends on anxiety, stress and other physical and circumstantial factors. Distractions while studying are plentiful. You should be able to overcome distractions or avoid distractions. Please understand the above. Change your study style and attitude accordingly. Take care.

For becoming a famous singer, avoid foods which are not too salty, oily, pungent or bitter. Best and safest food for singing is strict vegetarian diet and to take fruits in day time and cow's milk in night time about three hours after dinner.

I am 22 years old person studying in college. From my childhood I was not good in interacting with people. When someone come to me and asked something I couldn't reply in a good manner. So I didn't have that much friends. Anyway I understood I was not good in socially at later 16s. I started changing my self but there where any good results (some slight changes are there). I am always dreaming about past incidents as making my self good and find pleasure in it. I visualise the same in my mind repeatedly sometimes. I was good at delivering speech during my schooling and got many prizes. But at the same time very low behavioural skills. Now in my hostel everyone teasing me but I can't oppose them. If someone asked something in a tweezing way I get silent and failing to handle the situation and sometimes I hide from that persons. In my dreams I am OK but in real situations I am far behind. Please resolve my problems and suggest me some some ideas to overcome.

You have expressed the issues you are facing in a clear and lucid manner, kudos for that .You have mentioned you are good in public speaking and have won prizes for that, it shows you are bold and articulate. Rather than dwelling on the past live in the present moment and day to day. Make friends with those with whom you can share interests and hobbies. Ask your close friends and relatives what you can do to improve your inter- personal skills. If you feel you might require a language course / accent or soft skills training, go ahead and do a course for that. Take some time out and set up goals for yourself - long term and short term. Live your life according to that .Re look at your self and your situation objectively and make a plan accordingly. Hi lybrate-user, you need to take psychotherapy from a psychologist. I need to understand what led you to lose your confidence is it just because girls are not your friends. If we understand the dynamics we may be able to bring about change in your thinking. You are having cognitive distortion for which you need cognitive behavioral therapy. You are ignoring all the positive in your life and focusing just on negative. If really no girl wants to be your friend we need to figure out the reason. Consult for same. All the best.

Get your hypersomnia evaluated. U need average 8 hours of sleep, if you sleep less, you might feel sleepy during other times. Get a detailed education about sleep hygiene, consult a psychiatrist.
