From the past few years I am suffering with some or other health problem every now and then. Even though I have been suffering with very minor health issues like allergy on lips, fever, rashes, indigestion, constipation, cold, ear pain, acne, hair fall, mouth ulcers, etc. These problems usually resolve properly within few days of medication. But I want to want can be the reason for my low immunity. What are the foods which can increase my immunity and what other measures can I take. What can be the reasons for my constant falling sick. I have done thyroid profile, blood tests, x ray and all reports are normal.

Allergy is partly genetic and partly environmental. Thus it never goes away. With better ,less dusty environment ,avoidance of Allergy causing products, the extent if the problem gets reduced. Medicines help to downregulate the immune response of your body to these environmental allergens. Long term lifestyle  changes with gradually tapering medication  helps to tackle problems. Probiotics nowadays are said to be helpful for allergies as well as digestive issues. Start having plenty of fruits and vegetables  in your diet. 50 gram of proteins  (atleast) :no soya beans A course of vitamin B complex and C for 1 month. Add a probiotic supplement to your regular meals. Have sleep for atleast 7 to 8 hours. Exercise atleast for 30 minutes  every day. Kindly share body weight, height any medical conditions, occupation for better customization  Share test reports on Lybrate Hope to help you better.

Mucus is not coming out. When I sneeze only little comes. I also have little soar throat. Even cough comes from my throat I feel pressure around my eyes even. In x-ray the final impression is maxillary and frontal sinusitis. Now a days are of viral infection be careful. Cold,Sneezing, sore throat, a stuffy nose, coughing -fever,bodyache,headache,occured in viral infection. What can you do for your cold or cough symptoms? besides drinking plenty of fluids and getting plenty of rest, you may want to take medicines. There are lots of different cold and cough medicines, and they do different things. Nasal decongestants - unclog a stuffy nose...i.e ................ nasal dop/spray.....nasivion Cough suppressants - quiet a cough...................................... syp. Brozedax Expectorants - loosen mucus so you can cough it up.............syp...zeet expectorant Antihistamines - stop runny noses and sneezing.....................tab/syp....levocetirizine Pain relievers - ease fever, headaches, and minor aches and pains.......tab..flucold plus . Here are some other things to keep in mind about cold and cough medicines. Read labels, because many cold and cough medicines contain the same active ingredients. Taking too much of certain pain relievers can lead to serious injury. Do not give cough medicines to children under four, and don't give aspirin to children. Not helpful uses of antibiotics medicines.you should be also go for tests cbc,

Hi
I am suffering from throat pain for last 4 days. Kindly suggest wht should be done.
Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this - 1)Do a clinical examination by your Doctor and to confirm do CBC with differential 2)Do warm saline gargle every three hours for throat pain 3)Discuss with your treating doctor about prescription medications like - a)Paracetamol-for fever and body pain b)Azithromycin -for infection Do follow lifestyle modifications like this- 1)Try to clean your hands. Proper hand cleaning is the best way to prevent all kinds of infections. That's why it's important to clean your own hands regularly using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. 2)Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze. 3)Don't share personal items. If you have strep throat, don't share drinking glasses or eating utensils. Wash those items carefully in hot, soapy water or in a dishwasher. Hope that helps

I had sinusitis. Headache increases after classes or some workout. And also in the evening. Pain subsides when I took steam. please suggest me proper diagnosis. Can it will be recover properly.

Ideally diagnosing the disease is the first step to treatment. If you can, please get a Plain CT PNS, axial and coronal to confirm you have sinusitis. Take some decongestants, analgesic and steam for a few days prior to that. If the symptoms resolve, you do not need to get the CT scan done. If the CT shows a lot of disease, the ENT doctor will be able to suggest further line of management. All the very best!

Rhinoplasty - What You Should Know About It!

MBBS, MS- Surgery, MCh - Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Delhi
Rhinoplasty - What You Should Know About It!

We humans are obsessed with the way we look. This is despite the fact that we can only see what the mirror (or our pictures) shows and nobody can actually see their own faces. The nose is one part that very few are happy with. It is either too short, long, round, sharp, whatnot. To add to that, science has come up with the size and shape that can make one look beautiful. There are surgeries that can shape it up, so you can walk with your nose held high!!

Rhino, stands for nose, and plasty is for surgery. Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure which is useful in correcting the shape and size of the nose. Earlier done as a treatment for people with chronic nasal congestion and blocks, it has gained popularity as a cosmetic procedure in the recent decades.

Why rhinoplasty:

As noted, rhinoplasty could be done for cosmetic and therapeutic reasons, some of them being:

  1. Nose completely out of proportion with the facial size
  2. Misshapen tip of the nose, which could be drooping, hooked, or bulbous
  3. Nostrils not in proper position or misshapen
  4. Asymmetrical nostrils
  5. Nasal bridge having lumps or bumps
  6. Externally visible deviation of the nasal septum, causing both cosmetic and breathing issues

During the surgical reshaping, cartilage may be added or removed to achieve the desired shape.

What to expect before the procedure?

Getting yourself in the right hands. Think about it, in the wrong hands, this surgery can have very serious effects, not just functionally but also cosmetically. You could then end up wishing that you were better off with the previous, misshapen nose. After the surgery, you will notice a different you in the mirror, as the nose has a telling effect on a person’s appearance.

At the time of surgery:

Depending on the extent of surgery, local or general anesthesia is used. General is preferred though. With a local anesthesia, you will be aware of the sights and sounds of the surgery.

Post the procedure:

Once the procedure is over, gradually expect the following.

  • A puffy face, as the tissue around the eyes and the nose will be considerably swollen
  • The nose will be covered with a splint for at least a week. This allows the bones and cartilage to settle down in their new position.
  • Use a cold compresses to help in pain control and reduce swelling
  • Take the entire course of antibiotics and pain killers
  • Sleep with the head of the bed elevated for the first one week postoperatively

Rhinoplasty is definitely a choice to improve appearance and self-esteem; the key is to place yourselves in safe hands. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
