Start using oral b pro gum health toothpaste twice a day with colgate plax mouthwash. Drink plenty of water, dryness is major reason of halitosis. Use sugar free gum to promote saliva formation. Clean your tongue regularly. Avoid garlic onion. You can also reverse halitosis with mint mouth spray.

Mouth opening becomes a prob in various circumstances -tmj prob, strained jaw muscles, osmf, pericoronal infections. You need to get evaluated by a dentist at it earliest n get treated accordingly. Meanwhile do warm saline rinses n use a muscle relaxant such as flexeril twice daily for three days after food.

My front tooth is half broken and is bonded by a dentist, but I always get afraid that if the bonded tooth breaks while in college or in some function. So is it better to go for tooth cap? I also read that there is a new research going on to regrow broken teeth using stem cells. Is it true? Will our country get this treatment in near future? Thank You.

If the bonding is done correctly and you do not use your front tooth to bite into things like apple and all there is no reason for worry at this stage you need not get a crown done, if the tooth would have been too weak the dentist who did your bonding would have suggested a crown/cap.

This kind of ulceration may cause due to deficiency of vitamin B complex. In your case if vitamin B complex capsule are not responding. But by homoeopathic treatment you can get rid of it completely and permanently. Foods that are good sources of vitamin B12 include: Beef, pork, ham, poultry, and lamb Fish, especially haddock, and tuna Milk, cheese, and yogurt Some nutritional yeast products Eggs. Vegans consume no animal products. But they can take vitamin B12 dietary supplements to avoid deficiency. Some types of soya milk and breakfast cereals are fortified with vitamin B12. Some nutritional yeast products may contain vitamin B12.

Sir my teeth is yellow instead of brushing my teeth two times a day. Please me the reason and also give me the solution.
Teeth can be genetically yellowish for many people, so they do not change colour inspite of brushing well. If you are keen to make your teeth whiter, you can try tooth bleaching. Visit a dentist to know more.

Tooth Decay

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Dehradun
Tooth Decay

What if you have tooth decay?

If you have developed black or brown spots of decay on your teeth either in the fissures or on the smooth surfaces and it is associated with discomfort and / or sensitivity to hot and cold and / or frank pain, it is likely that you have tooth decay. Your dentist will evaluate you comprehensively and based on his clinical and radiographic findings he will do one of the following;

1. Make an opening in the crown and remove decay, shape the cavity and fill it with a tooth colored filling or an amalgam filling. This could also be done under local anaesthesia.

2. If the decay is very deep and the pulp (nerve, root canal) is involved in the decay process he will, under local anaesthesia go deeper into the pulp chamber, remove the pulp and the nerve, render it free of infection, do a root filling and later put an amalgam or a tooth colored filling. Subsequently he will put a veneer or a crown on the tooth as the case may be.

Always use soft bristles toothbrush and teeth brushing should be done 2 to 3 minutes

BDS
Dentist, Jaipur
Always use soft bristles toothbrush and teeth brushing should be done 2 to 3 minutes
Always use soft bristles toothbrush and teeth brushing should be done 2 to 3 minutes. Because hard toothbrush and lengthy cleaning time cause the abrasion of teeth which can make your teeth sensitive.
Clean your front teeth in a vertical motion and back teeth in circular motion.
Always clean your tongue with tongue cleaner.
Never use needle, match stick, wooden stick etc to remove food in between teeth because these things can cause gums inflammation resulting in pocket formation.
Have a good smile.

Taking a good meal before the rtc is advised as the process can take as long as three hours in some cases.

Saving a fallen tooth can be useful. Try to keep it in place while you seek immediate medical attention. If that is not the case, try wrapping the tooth in a piece of plastic or soaking it into milk and call for immediate dental service.

Your baby is fine. It's a general tendency to vomit at this age, as they are new to swallowing solids. It takes some time for them to adjust. It's better to mix more water into cerelac until he is comfortable with solid.

I have teeth pain daily. Even I used many pastes. But also I'm getting pain. What should I do.

M.Sc - Medical Bio-chemistry, BDS
Dentist, Jaipur
I have teeth pain daily. Even I used many pastes. But also I'm getting pain. What should I do.
Tooth pain may be due to carious infection leading to pulpitis (inflammation within tooth). Tooth paste is used to clean plaque and polish the tooth surface. It will never remove any bacterial infection of either tooth or gums. So consult a dentist so that exact cause of your pain can be ruled out; then further treatment can be suggested. If pain is slight in form of sensitivity then filling will be sufficient but if pain is severe then, according to the prognosis root canal treatment followed by capping or any other treatment procedure will be required.

It doesn't matter whether u take which ever form of medicine to control your sugar level. The only thing which matters is that your blood sugar level should be under control. Then u can undergo any form of surgery.

My father in law is 63 years old. Nowadays he is facing burning sensation on the tongue. What is this and is the remedy.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
To avoid infection and reduce pain in a first-degree burn on the tongue: rinse the area well with cool water for a few minutes. Remove any dirt or particles that may be on the burn. Wet a clean cloth with cool water and hold it on top of the burn. Suck on ice chips or a popsicle to soothe the pain. Gargle with cool water or salt water. Avoid warm or hot liquids, which could irritate the burn. Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain and inflammation. Sprinkle a few grains of sugar on the tongue to relieve pain.
