Broken File in Root Canal. I just had a root canal done today due to a deep filling I've had for a while. During the procedure, the general dentist broke the file inside the root.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Any dentist that does root canal procedures will have this occur. The main issue was the tooth vital or necrotic before the procedure and was adequate irrigation performed before the break. If the tooth was badly infected and the file broke early in the procedure then the chances are high you will have problems. If the procedure was a vital case and multiple irrigation solutions were used and allowed to be in the tooth for a long period of time you have better chances. The file being in the tooth is not bad but the pathology beyond the broken file is the issue.

How to keep teeth clean and comfortable with the same time as a result of the most important thing is that the only thing I can do it for the first time in the morning and I will be a good time to time and money to pay for the first time in.

We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Even after 3 months of tooth filling, I have pain and sensitivity. I repeatedly consulted my doc, who is just shooing me away with pain killers and antibiotics. Please help.

Get an x ray done to get a clear picture of wt has happened beneath the filling n hw deep your filling is. Deep filling cause pulp irritation n in the long run damage of pulp which inturn causes pain. Antibiotics do not solve your problem for long.

Dr. I'm suffering from discoloration of My teeth and my dentist told me to brush with white toned toothpastes. I've tried many whitening pastes still no result.

First of all visit dentist for professional cleaning (scaling). After that if again you feel that your teeth are yellow then go for teeth whitening procedure (teeth bleaching, this procedure if fruitful for extrinsic stains only.

I am 24 years old and i am chewing gutkha tobacco since two years and now my half mouth is not opening and half is opening and my half lips became black.

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
You have symptoms of oral submucous fibrosis. You need to completely stop chewing tobacco products, betel nut, red chillies and avoid tomato seeds. Good news is treatment is possible at this stage provided you stop consuming ghutka and tobacco. See a dentist who is willing to treat or go to govt dental hospital in your locality. Treatment is not expensive. Remember that no treatment will help if you continue consuming tobacco and betel nut. Discontinue these habits before it is too late.

My girlfriend has problem in her gums. If she eat anything like apple, they may bleed, while brushing also they sometimes bleed, any sort of pressure causes them to bleed. The upper gums in the front have swollen and have turned red. This problem is there for 2 years.

Dentist, Gurgaon
Hello lybrate-user, this is gum infection which develops due to deposition of plaque and calculus around teeth. This infection leads to gum swelling and bleeding. I advise you to visit a dentist soon for professional cleaning of her teeth. This will help in removal of these layers. Further swelling will decrease slowly and infection will subside soon. Meanwhile, she can use antibiotic mouth rinses twice a day for two weeks. But only professional help or treatment is not enough. She needs to follow proper oral hygiene habits because this problem is recurring in nature. Brushing twice a day, flossing teeth, rinsing mouth after every meal, and cleaning tongue will help preventing it's re-occurence.

Sugarless Chewing Gums are good for teeth. Not only they neutralize the acid in the mouth but also helps to stimulate the saliva flow (hence reduces chances of cavities). They should be avoided in case of any jaw pain or TMJ disorders.

Soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices should be consumed in a limited quantity because they are acidic in nature. Acidic food or drinks often soften the tooth material which leads to the dissolution of minerals into the tooth enamel, resulting in cavities (holes).

Munching foods like apples, pears, carrots or celery after brushing can help in preventing discoloration as they trigger tooth-bathing saliva which helps in keeping the teeth whiter.

My teeth are yellowish. Otherwise I have no problem. Pls suggest how to make them clean. Does cleaning effects enamel part. Pls suggest. Thanks.

BDS, CDE Endo-Prostho, CDE - Cast Partial & Complete Dentures
Dentist, Pune
Hello, yellow teeth could be because of deposits on your teeth or food lodged in your teeth. Visit a dentist get your scaling and polishing done. It is done with an ultrasonic tip which removes the layer of deposit on teeth, so does not affect enamel. Brush twice daily, maintain proper brushing technique, floss regularly and rinse after every meal. Visit dentist every 6 months.

HAVING BLEEDING GUMS??????
Bleeding from gums is very common sign reported by many patients while brushing or flossing. Can u avoid an important sign your body is giving you. what to do now????
Bleeding gums can be caused by improper brushing, food accumulations, lack of vitamin-c, or pregnancy. First thing that you need to do is report to a dentist. They will schedule an appointment for teeth cleaning and may be some gum treatments if required.
Secondly have a rich fibrous intake and have lots of juicy fruits like Amla, Oranges, Pineapple etc.
Thirdly make sure you brush twice and your dentist might add a medicated mouthwash to your daily regime.
So no longer worry but do not ignore such an important sign.

You have gum problem in between your teeth . This can be rectify by scaling and gum massages regularly and if gap is more than use proxa-bruse to clean that area to solve the problem, Now if blank space is due to damage of teeth than have to consult dentist to correct the problem
