How to keep dengue away and how to differentiate it between viral fever and dengue.

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
How to keep dengue away and how to differentiate it between viral fever and dengue.
The principal symptoms of dengue are: High fever and at least two of the following: Severe headache Severe eye pain (behind eyes) Joint pain Muscle and/or bone pain Rash Mild bleeding manifestation (e. G, nose or gum bleed, petechiae, or easy bruising) Watch for warning signs as temperature declines 3 to 5 days after symptoms/fever began, as this is the most dangerous period when platelet counts decline significantly. Report immediately to hospital if any of the following warning signs appear: Severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting Red spots or patches on the skin Bleeding from nose or gums Vomiting blood Black, tarry stools (feces, excrement) Drowsiness or irritability Pale, cold, or clammy skin Difficulty breathing There is no specific medication for treatment of a dengue infection. Persons who think they have dengue should use analgesics (pain relievers) with acetaminophen (crocin or dolo -650 mg) and avoid those containing ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin or aspirin containing drugs. They should also rest, drink plenty of fluids like coconut water, lime water etc. To prevent dehydration. Preventing dengue fever: the best way to prevent the disease is to prevent bites by infected mosquitoes. To protect yourself: Avoid visiting heavily populated residential areas, if possible. Use mosquito repellents, even indoors. When outdoors, wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants tucked into socks. Make sure window and door screens are secure and free of holes. If sleeping areas are not screened or air conditioned, use mosquito nets.

Dear Lybrate user. Sex thoughts, Sex addiction, masturbation addiction, porn films addiction etc comes under behavior addiction. Behavioral addiction is a form of addiction that involves a compulsion to engage in a rewarding non-drug-related behavior – sometimes called a natural reward – despite any negative consequences to the person's physical, mental, social or financial well-being. Behavior addiction needs to be curbed or controlled using your own self will power. Diverting your mind and body away from the circumstances which compels you for the addictive habit, with the help of physical exercises, games, entertainment etc can help you. Never sleep alone. Be always with your family even at night etc are some other tips. Willpower is the key always. Behavioral therapy also works well. Take care.

Hello, Some primary headaches can be triggered by lifestyle factors, including: Alcohol, particularly red wine Certain foods, such as processed meats that contain nitrates Changes in sleep or lack of sleep Poor posture Skipped meals Stress Insufficient sleep or rest Overexertion Nutritional deficiencies A secondary headache is a symptom of a disease that can activate the pain-sensitive nerves of the head. Any number of conditions — varying greatly in severity — may cause secondary headaches. Get your blood pressure checked, make a chart. Hi I have a few suggestions for you regarding the usage of computers, mobile phones and books. Follow the rule of" 20" this means that every 20 minutes, take a gap of 20 seconds, blink your eyes actively 20 times and focus at an object which is minimum 20 feet away. This will help in relieving your eyes from the continuous strain that is caused due to staring. Staring at the computer continuously causes us to subconsciously blink less than normal. This causes the tear film on the surface of the eye to dry up. The result of this is pain, discomfort, etc. Another suggestions regarding the usage of computers is to maintain a proper posture. The computer must be positioned at the same height as your eye level. The neck should not be inadvertently flexed or extended. Remember the rule of 90. Roughly, an angle of 90 degrees should be maintained between your upper body and thighs. Likewise, a similar angle (90 degrees) should be maintained between your lower legs and thighs. Also the angle between your hands and arms should be roughly 90 degrees. This is the healthy ergonomic way of sitting while using a computer. Maintenance of proper posture would help in further relieving the symptoms of eye discomfort and pain. Also remember the rule of 1. At least 1 time in a day, wash your eyes with clean hands and clean water in a gentle manner. Exercise for at least 1 hour in a day. Try to spend 1 hour with nature. (eg. In a park, garden, etc.) you could consider preservative free lubricant eye drops 4 to 5 times daily. These eye drops would ensure that your eyes stay well lubricated and fresh. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. You could also use a preservative free lubricant eye drop 4 to 5 times in a day. Also, adequate sleep of 7 hours a day is essential in order to maintain healthy eyes. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care.

In my body I have fungi infection can you please suggestion mi from your treatment.
In case of fungal infection ,the affected area should be kept dry as moisture further aggravates the condition. Do not apply any cream, instead you may use candid powder for the same. You should consult a dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis so that proper treatment can be advised.

Gonorrhoea - Common Symptoms in Men

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), MD - Alternate Medicine, Certified course in Herbal(Ayurvedic) medicine

Gonorrhoea - Common Symptoms in Men

Gonorrhoea is a bacterial STD that can affect both men and women. It can be transmitted from one person to another through oral, vaginal or anal intercourse. A person who is already suffering from an STD is at a high risk of suffering from Gonorrhoea as well. This disease affects the eyes, throat, vagina, urethra, anus and female reproductive tract. Gonorrhoea can be treated with antibiotics as long as it is diagnosed in time. In order to do so, it is essential to understand the symptoms of this disease.

Some people do not show any visible symptoms of gonorrhoea. This is known as nonsymptomatic Gonorrhoea. Even though there are no symptoms, these people can infect others through unprotected intercourse. However, in most cases, the symptoms of this STD can be seen in 2 to 14 days after exposure to the bacteria. These symptoms are different for men and women.

Men infected with this disease may not show symptoms for several weeks. Some of the symptoms of this disease as seen in men are:

  1. Frequent urge to urinate
  2. A burning or painful sensation while urinating
  3. Pus-like discharge from the penis
  4. Inflammation and redness of the tip of the penis
  5. Swelling that may or may not be accompanied by pain in the testicles
  6. Sore throat

In some cases, the pain may even spread to the rectum.
Gonorrhoea is more difficult to diagnose in women as the symptoms were shown are milder and tend to be similar to other infections. Some of the symptoms to look out for are:

  1. Watery or creamy discharge from the vagina
  2. Painful or burning sensation while urinating
  3. Increased urge to urinate frequently
  4. Heavier periods
  5. Spotting in between periods
  6. Sore throat
  7. Painful intercourse
  8. Pain in the lower abdomen
  9. Fever

Gonorrhoea can be diagnosed with a simple blood test or by taking a sample swab from the infected area and subjecting it to lab tests. Once diagnosed, it can be treated with antibiotics. In some cases, an injection may also be required. It is important to complete the full course of antibiotics even if the symptoms disappear in a few days. As with any other STD, prevention is better than cure. To avoid suffering from this disease, always use a condom while having intercourse. If you have more than one partner, insist on getting tested regularly. This is extremely important as many cases of Gonorrhoea go undetected for the lack of symptoms shown. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a sexologist.

Blood sugar 168 mg/100 ml, is considered as pre-diabetic level or impaired blood glucose (igt). This normally does not need any treatment. But needs a lifestyle change, so that in future it does no progress to full fledged diabetes. Life style change includes daily exercise for 1 hour, brisk walking is good, avoiding sweets in excess, avoiding deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries and other bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks, products containing sweet corn syrup, highly processed food products. Plus refrain from alcohol and smoking totally.

Unfortunately, for men who desire to increase their size of penis, the penis size is determined by genetics; therefore, no foods can accomplish making it bigger. However, there are some foods that can help accelerate your training for penis. If you combine a specific diet plan together with your exercises for penis, you can get the result you want quickly. Some foods may help you a lot in the training process; however, they can increase blood flow to your penis. Some examples of these foods are milk, eggs, liver, tuna, salmon, and vegetables like tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, and sweet potatoes. If you want to increase the size of your penis and improve the health of your masculinity without side effects and pain, you can try these foods in your diet plan. Ginkgo Biloba, Dark chocolate, ginger, almonds and pumpkin seeds.

I go for a jog at 5.30 and I wake up at 5. What food should I eat to get the maximum energy? And is coffee okay?

M.Sc - Dietitics / Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
I go for a jog at 5.30 and I wake up at 5. What food should I eat to get the maximum energy? And is coffee okay?
Hello lybrate-user, Coffee, twice a day is okay for individuals between 18 to 21 age group and thrice or four times a day is harmless for 22 to 45 age groups individuals. In the morning, our body craves for carbohydrate (simple). And on that if you plan for workout or morning work then, you better supply you body with required amount of carbohydrate because otherwise, the whole day your body will keep on demanding for high carbs food stuffs and ultimately you may end up eating unhealthy things. You can go for milk, boiled vegetables, sweet corns, carrots or may be sandwich before going for morning walk. After morning walk, 10 mins later, have a glass of fruit juice or sattu ghol (with a bit of salt). And then, within 1.5 hrs you need to take your breakfast followed by a mid-morning snack and then lunch. Your breakfast should always be high in carbs, lunch rich in protein and dinner just a minimal amount of easily digestible carbohydrate. Thank you. Have a nice day!
