Sperm Freezing

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MBBS
IVF Specialist, Delhi
Sperm Freezing

Sperm Freezing

  • Before you begin chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment, your sperm can be frozen and stored until you wish to start a family. Even if the sperm profile is poor, as is common during times of illness, it is usually possible to store sufficient sperm for use in IVF in the future.
  • Men who have to travel overseas or work in dangerous situations may also want to have their sperm frozen for possible use in the future.
  • About 25-50% of the sperm will survive the process of freezing, and they can be stored for many years. There is a yearly fee for sperm storage.

Now a days pregnancy kit for testing is available at every pharmaceutical out lets. I advice to take that kit and perform test at your home. By following the procedure given on that. If it shows two lines on that kit then it is positive. But as you are saying she consumed I pill within 72 hours and she bled on 13 th of november. She may not be pregnant for sure. But still if you have got doubts. Please follow the above said method.

We first need to know whether there is any disease associated with it or not. For that she needs gynecological check up to find out the cause, if any and then its treatment. If no cause, is found we can label it as ''normal'' but if patient is not satisfied, we can give her drugs to improve the flow.

Yes of course you can conceive but since your sperm count is too low, you may need assistance like IUI or IVF.

I had my last period cycle on 31 Jan. This month in feb it got skipped. I m a thyroid patient and also had a intercourse with my fiance in mid of Feb. However I have done pregnancy test through pregnancy kit and the result was negative. Is there anything to worry about, what should I do.

As you had sex in mid of February and you failed to take I-pill, you have very high chance of getting pregnant. Pregnancy test won't come positive this soon it should be done 7 days after the missed period. You can repeat the test on 8 of March and if it is negative then keep repeating every week till you get your menses.

My wife is pregnant she is having blood in cough and nose is bleeding slightly please suggest.
It is common in pregnancy because of hormonal changes. Nasoclear nose drops three drops three times a day and apply Vaseline in both nostrils by ear buds. Tell her not to put fingers in her nose.
