If diabetes is in check nephropathy can also be controlled. Do you have high blood pressure, if so what are the drugs for that? few precautions restrict salt intake and do not eat more proteins. dear mr Kunal 5mm is a very small stone but since you have not told us the location of the stone it will not be possible to tell you with confidence that if it will either pass out on its own or grow, please drink a lots and lots of fluids so that you have a high urine output depending on the site the likely chances is that the stone may pass out if it is favourably placed

Dear Lybrate User, *improper diet and sedentary lifestyle, working for long periods in direct sunlight, doing excessive physical work, excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, tea, and coffee, indulgence in heavy, oily, sweet, and indigestible foods and reduced intake of fresh vegetables, salt, and alkaline-producing foods, drinking too little water, diet high in meat, fish, and poultry and suppressing the urge to pass stools and urine can cause urinary stones. *Avoid sour, heavy, and dry food. *Increase intake of liquids like water, juice, soup, lime water, etc. *Be sure to drink enough water each day. Usually 1 to 2 liters of water per day is adequate. *Avoid suppressing urges to urinate and defecate.

The most important factor is genetics some people are genetically predisposed for stone formation .you might have observed that there is there might be a history of stone formation in your husband's family moreover people who drink less Fluids are also more likely to have stones. Formation of small stones which do not interfere with the urinary system are not much harmful.

Echogenic kidney ke baare me btaye. Mere beta ka right kidney cortical echogenic by birth hai. Kya ye apne aap thik ho jata hai.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Increased echogenicity of the kidney in the newborn has many causes, some of which reflect serious renal disease. The major abnormal imaging pattern is the large, diffusely hyperechoic kidney with abnormal architecture. The various cause of echogenic kidney are 1. Heriditary the family history and ultrasonic screening of the parents and siblings are essential in the evaluation. The identification of associated nonrenal abnormalities is important to the recognition of syndromal cystic disease. 2. Second cause of the enlarged hyperechoic kidneys with abnormal architecture include renal vein thrombosis and congenital nephrotic syndrome. A second pattern is the hyperechoic small kidney with abnormal architecture. Many of these kidneys are dysplastic and associated with urinary tract obstruction. The combination of hyperechoic parenchyma and pyelocaliceal dilatation suggests obstructive cystic dysplasia. 3. Cortical and medullary necrosis in the newborn also causes hyperechogenicity in small kidneys. A third pattern contains those kidneys with medullary hyperechogenicity, the most common cause of which in the newborn is nephrocalcinosis associated with furosemide therapy treatment of echogenic kidneys depends upon the effects it causess to the kidneys and some of the effect are 1. Renal dysplasia 2. Acute glomerulonephritis 3. Chronic glomerulonephritis 4. Acute tubular necrosis 5. Hemolytic-uremc syndrome 6. Chronic renal failure 7. Nephrotic syndrome 8. Glycogen-storage disease 9. Sickle cell anemia 10. Polycystic renal disease so the treatment depends upon what type of condition kidney is suffering from and management given accordingly.

Hello, Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Essentia Aurea/ thrice daily which is a cardio-tonic which helps in maintaining blood pressure, improves muscle tone of the heart and narrowing of blood vessels. For Kidney-Stone: You may reduce your risk of kidney stones if you: Drink water throughout the day. For people with a history of kidney stones, drink 12-14 glasses of water everyday. If you live in a hot, dry climate or you exercise frequently, you may need to drink even more water to produce enough urine. If your urine is light and clear, you're likely drinking enough water. Eat fewer oxalate-rich foods. If you tend to form calcium oxalate stones, your doctor may recommend restricting foods rich in oxalates. These include rhubarb, beets, okra, spinach, Swiss chard, sweet potatoes, nuts, tea, chocolate and soy products. Choose a diet low in salt and animal protein. Reduce the amount of salt you eat and choose non animal protein sources, such as legumes. Consider using a salt substitute. Continue eating calcium-rich foods, but use caution with calcium supplements. Calcium in food doesn't have an effect on your risk of kidney stones. Continue eating calcium-rich foods unless your doctor advises otherwise. Ask your doctor before taking calcium supplements, as these have been linked to increased risk of kidney stones. You may reduce the risk by taking supplements with meals. Diets low in calcium can increase kidney stone formation in some people. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine - Berberis Vulgaris Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice daily for 4 weeks.

HI Kidney stones are nothing but mineral salt deposits which are filtered by the kidney and removed from the body through urine; due to dehydration, the deposited minerals don’t get dissolved and leads to crystallization. This grows large causing obstruction in urine flow through the ureter leading to sharp and severe pain in urinary tract. If kidney stones are not treating it can lead to kidney failure. If you think medicine not working then shock wave lithotripsy can be used to break up a stone .for any further help you can contact me private through librate.

General Physician,
KIDNEY DISORDERS-A STUDY

Kidneys are remarkable organs. Both blood filters and endocrine organs, kidneys remove waste, regulate electrolytes and acid-base homoeostasis, control fluid balance and blood pressure, and regulate bone metabolism and red blood cell production. They are intimately connected with the functioning of other organs, such as the heart and liver, and can be devastated by diseases as varied as diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and many infections. Yet, more than almost any other organ, they are often ignored and misunderstood. A UK survey for the Think Kidneys campaign in 2014 found that only 51% of people knew that kidneys made urine, and 8% thought the kidneys pumped blood and fluids around the body.

The kidney's public image might, paradoxically, be a victim of its own success. People can live normal, symptom-free lives until they have lost almost 70% of their renal function. When kidneys do fail, they can be replaced?because of a century of pioneering research. Human haemodialysis was first tried in 1924 in Giessen, Germany, and, as a World Report in today's Lancet shows, peritoneal dialysis is now available in some of the most deprived countries on earth. The first successful human organ transplantation was of a kidney in Boston, USA, in 1954, and kidneys are the most commonly transplanted organs today.

This renal-themed issue of The Lancet contains research articles on topics as diverse as a new antibiotic for complicated urinary tract infections, renal denervation for hypertension, and a hospital-based electronic alert system for acute kidney injury. Two Series papers discuss advances in the understanding of membranous nephropathy and management of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, and the Profile is of Andrzej Wi?cek, a nephrologist whose present focus is on adipose tissue as an endocrine organ. But the very nature of kidneys means that assessments of renal function and disease are made on the basis of proxy markers, and these estimates are often far from perfect. Much research focusing on biomarkers and targets for treatment is, by necessity, preliminary and preclinical. Research in kidney disease has come a very long way, and has a very long way to go.
