First get your refraction done if there is retractive error use proper power glass even if there is no power ,you can use zero power antiglare glass along with some good lubricating eye drops 4-5 times a day (Refresh liquigel) because it dueto dryness known as computer vision syndrome in medical terminology,

Hello Prolonged working on laptop/TV/mobile can cause computer vision syndrome. Computer vision syndrome is a condition resulting from focusing the eyes on a computer or other display device for, uninterrupted periods of time. Some symptoms of cvs include a. Headaches b blurred vision c. Neck pain d redness in the eyes e. Eye strain f dry eyes sometimes watery eyes these symptoms can be further aggravated by improper lighting conditions. Measures to reduce this include 1. Work under proper light. 2. Blink a lot. 3. Cold compresses 4. Use good lubricating eyedrop.

Dear lybrate-user You seems to have dry eye syndrome as your symptoms suggest. It is better to have physical consultation. If not possible just use refresh tears three times a day. It will help.

Hello lybrate-user. Sorry about your eye trouble. Amblyopia/ lazy eye develops during the initial years of one's life (2 to 12 years of age). As you would probably know, there are multiple reasons associated with it. Let me enumerate them in brief: (1) unequal refractive error in both eyes causing one eye to become lazy. (2) squint in one eye. (3) cataract at a young age in one eye / both eyes. (4) retinal tumor/ detachment/ pathology occurring at a young age. (5) injury to one eye. If treated early (2 to 12 years of age) and followed up regularly, there is a chance of preventing amblyopia. Unfortunately, at your age (23 years), it would be difficult to treat and cure it. Early intervention in the form of patching therapy would have made it possible to cure it.

Hello, Bloodshot eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye (sclera) become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: Eye dryness Too much sun exposure Dust or other particles in the eye Allergies Infection Injury Eye infections or inflammation can cause redness as well as possible itching, discharge, pain, or vision problems. Other causes of eye redness include Colds or allergies, Acute glaucoma, Corneal scratches: Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses. Sometimes, a bright red spot, called a subconjunctival hemorrhage, will appear on the white of the eye. This often happens after straining or coughing, which causes a broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye. Most often, there is no pain and your vision is normal. It is almost never a serious problem. Because the blood leaks into the conjunctiva, which is clear, you cannot wipe or rinse the blood away. Like a bruise, the red spot will go away within a week or two. Management: - Try to rest your eyes if redness is due to fatigue or eye strain. No other treatment is needed. - Wash your hands, hold clean water in your hand, keep your eyes closer to the water and wash the eyes by blinking the eyelids frequently in the held water in hand. Repeat it for 3-4 times again. - Avoid watching T.V., working on computer or mobile, reading. - In case there is itching, use a clean napkin or a tissue to wipe the tears and cleaning the eyelids gently. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe’s Belladonna 30 and Euphrasia 30 - both thrice daily for 4 days. Use Euphrasia Eye drops twice daily. Revert back thereafter.

hello, for lasik Surgery your age is less so now you should do these Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Excessive times spend on laptop/tv/ mobile could lead to computer vision syndrome. It is the result of long prolonged hours of focusing the eyes on a computer screen or any other display device. The symptoms include? headache and neck pain? blurred vision? eye strain? dry eyes along with redness the situation can further be aggravated by poor lighting environment. The way to reduce the symptom is to? work under adequate lighting? blink a lot? cold compresses? use lubricating eye drops.

Is it true that drinking thyme seed water on empty stomach every morning can help weight loss. The recipe is as follows. Sir. Your bmi is about 27+. Which means you are just overweight. Definitely there is scope for a bit of reduction. That can be done by diet modification of reducing oils and sugar. As for the formula you have given. Please don't believe in this kind of stuff. There is only one way body fat can burn. That is by activity. And diet reduction. Rest all these things are myths. Wish you success in your quest to be fitter and younger.

Puffed eye could be sometimes due to thyroid, if this puffiness subside during the the course of day then leave it as it is, if it bothers you can apply little ice packs for 1 to 2 mins it will help you, sometime it is age related as the skin around the eye looses fat and muscle mass leaving a saggy skin.

  • Does not involve light-emission: The backlit electronic devices, strain your eyes, causing redness, irritation and watering. Exercises to improve eye health:

There are many common measures people take to improve their eyesight or improve their vision. These include wearing glasses, lenses, sunglasses and many such measures. Here are some effective exercises which prove to be highly beneficial in increasing your eye health:

  1. Stretching: This is the most common and also one of the easiest to do. It requires you to just look up, hold for two seconds, look down, hold for two seconds, then repeat this procedure for each corner of your eye, which means top-left, top-right, bottom-left and bottom-right corners.
  2. Flexing: This is simply rotating your eyes in circles. Roll your eyes in the clockwise direction for one minute and then roll your eyes in the anticlockwise direction for one minute.
  3. Focus switching: This particular eye exercise is used for accommodation and is probably the most useful one. In this eye exercise, you have to hold something at a reading distance and cover the other eye. You then have to find something that is at least twenty feet away and trace its shape with one eye closed. With one eye closed, trace more shapes which are twenty feet away and this may improve your eyesight.
  4. Palming: This exercise is also very simple to perform. All you have to do is cover your eyes with your palms. Once you have done this, just wait and see that there are no bright flashes of light. If you see that there is a bright flash of light, just wait till they go. This is used primarily to destress the eyes.
  5. Deep blinking: This is also an incredibly useful exercise for distance vision. All you have to do is to place some large letters at a fair distance and then sit on a chair. You have to then close your eyes and tighten all your muscles for 5 seconds. After the gap of 5 seconds, open your eyes and see the letters for a second or two. The more time you do this the more clearly you will be able to see the letters after reopening your eyes.

Finally, a warning has to be given that these eye treatments are not universally accepted by all doctors.

Your eyes are an important part of your health. There are many things you can do to keep them healthy and make sure you are seeing your best. However, there are a number of myths regarding what you should do and what you shouldn't do when it comes to maintaining good eye health.

Here are 5 of those myths busted:

Myth #1: reading in dim light and sitting too close to the tv hurts your eyes

Fact: sitting too close to the tv, you may feel eye strain or get a headache from reading in the dark, but it will not weaken your eyes. It fatigues your eyes but does not harm your eye health in any way.

Myth #2: eating carrots will improve your vision

Fact: carrots are rich in vitamin a, a nutrient essential for good vision. But eating carrots will only provide a small amount of vitamin a. To get the optimum amount, you need to include other sources of vitamin a in your diet as well, some of which are milk, cheese, egg yolk and liver. Spinach is best for eye health. It has lutein and zeaxanthin, both of which can help prevent cataracts.

Myth #3: if you wear glasses or contacts for a continuous period, your eyes will weaken

Fact: your eyes will not grow weaker by using corrective lenses. The prescription may change over time due to aging or absence of disease but it has nothing to do with your current prescription. Some children have correctable eye problems that do require glasses to improve the condition.

Myth #4: when you get something in your eye, rub it out

Fact: this is not true for everything that gets in your eyes. If any particle falls in your eyes dust it off. But if it is sand and small debris that gets in your eye, don't touch it. Use an eye wash for flushing it out. If an object gets stuck in your eye, don't remove it or rub your eye constantly. Visit a doctor at the earliest because some serious injuries may seem minor at first.

Myth #5: dark sunglasses can protect your eyes from the sun

Fact: the color of sunglass does not ensure eye protection. Look for sunglasses that block both uva and UVB rays. Exposure to the UV-rays of sunlight can have cumulative effects on your eyes. It increases your risk for cataracts, solar retinitis, and age-related vision loss. Even if your contacts have UV protection, wear sunglasses that block 100% of uva and UVB rays for full protection. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an ophthalmologist.

Hello lybrate-user. Sorry about your eye problem. If you are facing pressure/ load around your eyes it would be a good idea to get the following assessed: (a) eye pressure checkup. (b) dilated retina evaluation. (c) systemic checkup by a physician. The reason for systemic checkup is that your blood pressure and other vital parameters should be checked along with the eyes. There are multiple causes responsible for diminution/ blurring of vision. Let me enumerate them in brief for you: (1) refractive error. This is one of the commonest reasons responsible. Minus or plus number in one eye or both eyes may be responsible for weak/ blurred vision. The solution for this is glasses/ contact lens/ refractive surgery (if applicable). It should be checked by a trained optometrist/ ophthalmologist and proper glasses should be prescribed. (2) cornea related problem: injury, degeneration, infections or inflammation occurring on the cornea tend to causes loss of transparency and lead to weakening of vision. These should be assessed preferably by a cornea specialist and treated appropriately. (3) cataract in the lens of the eye: this usually occurs with increasing age but in some cases may occur at a younger age. There are multiple systemic factors responsible (eg. Diabetes, increased cholesterol levels, etc) injury to the eye may also cause cataract. This should be assessed and treated appropriately by a cataract specialist. (4) retina/ vitreous problems: these occur due to a variety of reasons such as high minus numbers, diabetes, trauma, etc. These issues are best assessed and treated by a retina specialist. There are good quality surgical options available for the same. (5) optic nerve related problems: these may occur due to raised eye pressure (glaucoma), or occur in association with certain conditions related to the brain and the blood vessels. These are best assessed by a retina/ glaucoma specialist (whichever applicable). (6) neurological problems: certain problems in the brain and the central nervous system tend to cause weakening/ blurring of vision. These are best assessed by an eye specialist in concordance with a neurologist and a neurosurgeon if required. Hello, take belladonna 30, 3 drops, thrice daily. Use schwabe's cmd2, eye drop. Instill 2 drops in each eye twice daily. Wash your eyes with cold water twice daily. Revert me after 1 week.
