If you are still bleeding, go for an ultrasound test to find out if there is still some retained product inside the uterine cavity. If so, you may have to undergo curatage, a minor procedure. If the cavity is empty, nothing to worry.

6 cm and 5 cm are big enough. But before going to operation, you have to have detailed investigations especially to exclude malignancy.

My wife pregnancy is about end of the 8 month bit of last quarter. Her HB is about to 6 gram. She is feeling too much constipation and vomiting. What is next step to increase the HB. AND how much should be HB at the time of delivery. Please confront to me.

Hb 6gm is too less. She needs to build her haemoglobin fast. She would probably require blood transfusion and simultaneously the cause of anaemia is to be investigated. There are many complications of such low hb. Her hemoglobin ideally should have been above 11gms.

Safety Tips for Your Eyes During Diwali

Safety Tips for Your Eyes During Diwali

Deepavali, is a festival of lights that brings fun, joy and togetherness. Though diwali celebrations mean lots of fun and enjoyment, unfortunately, improper handling and playing with fireworks account for thousands of emergency room visits each year during the festival. Eyes are the second-most common affected area after the hands and fingers.

While enjoying the festival to its fullest, here are five simple safety tips for your eyes during diwali:

Maintain a safe distance: maintain a distance of an arm's length while lighting firecrackers, and at least five metres while watching
Use protective glasses
Wash your eyes: in the event of an eye injury, do not rub your eyes. If there are any particles inside your eyes, it will scratch your eyeballs and this will cause further damage. Instead, wash your eyes with clean water for about 10 minutes and after that visit an eye doctor at the earliest.
No contact lenses
Wash hands thoroughly

Remember prevention is better than cure.

Do not let children light crackers. If there are fireworks, there should always be adult supervision.

These precautions can go a long way to ensure a safe diwali for you, your family friends and your loved ones.

In case of an accident, contact emergency medical services immediately.

Turmeric - a Natural PainKiller

Looking for a medication to relieve pain?

You might have better options!

Turmeric, a spice that gives the Indian curries, their bright yellow color. A powerful herb, Turmeric has been used as a painkiller by many communities for centuries. Turmeric has anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. A strong healer, turmeric rejuvenates, restoring health and has a powerful analgesic action without causing any side effects. In contrast, most of the pharmaceutical prescription medicines available over the counter for pain have many harmful side effects apart from the risk of making the person dependant.

The active ingredient of turmeric is curcumin that has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and is a far more effective substitute to pain killers since it is natural and comes without any side effects. However, it is not easily absorbed in the intestines. Its absorption can be improved with pepper. So don’t forget to add black pepper to your curries to get the incredible benefits of turmeric.

Here are a few analgesic benefits of Turmeric:

1. Most powerful natural painkiller

Pain is the most horrifying sensation. One may suffer from acute pain lasting a few days or chronic pain that may last for more than six months. Pain can occur due to sprain, burn, injury, fracture or may be caused by a disease.

Whatever be the cause of pain, you can get relief with turmeric, most potent natural pain killer.

2. Gives relief in Nociceptive pain

Any somatic pain that originates in skin or deeper tissues or visceral pain that originates in internal organs is called Nociceptive Pain. Turmeric has anti-nociceptive effects and causes relief in pain. Regular pain killers have many side effects like causing damage to internal lining of the stomach, affecting kidneys, delaying muscle regeneration & even posing risk of clotting. Turmeric is known to reduce nociceptive pain from diseases like arthritis, colitis, cancer, degenerative joint pain etc. Even application of turmeric oil on external areas brings a significant relief in pain in contrast to pain killers.

3. Turmeric for Neuropathic pain

When the nervous system gets damaged, one experiences Neuropathic Pain characterized by numbness and itching. Some people get sensation of pins and needles along with pain.

Turmeric has been found to be a great treatment for this type of neuropathic pain such as that which occurs in Diabetes.

Dosage for Turmeric

Taking turmeric as part of your diet is very safe. However, you can also take turmeric supplements available over the counter as prescribed by health consultants.

Turmeric offers a great solution from pain and also provides numerous added health and medicinal benefits. Make Turmeric part of your diet to enjoy great Health!

Yes this is normal if ultrasound is showing heart beat. As her menses were irregular, ovulation is always delayed causing this situation. You have to consider her last menses date as 7 weeks minus the date on which ultrasound is performed, for future calculations of date.

PCOS cysts rarely can be treated by surgery. You must try controlling weight and controlling sugar. For hair growth, we can advise some drugs after examining you.

After 5 days of my ovarian cyst laser operation there is white creamy discharge from my vagina with lots of itching and small sores inside the vaginal opening pls suggest me something.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
During surgery for ovarian cyst, doctors sometimes put some instruments through the vagina after applying some disinfectant like betadine solution, which can cause all these problems. It is a matter of time to get relieved of these problems. You do not need any treatment for the same issue.

Hello, Your incontinence would have to be differentiated first between stress urinary incontinence or over flow incontinence and accordingly treatment has to be planned. There is no other natural remedy than keel's exercises for tightening of perineal muscles unless surgery is opted for.
