Whenever a couple opts for IVF, the main question in their mind is that will it be successful? The chances depend on a number of factors, the most important one being the quality of eggs. If the eggs are not good, they will not be able to get fertilized, or even if they get fertilized the embryo they will form will be abnormal. Thus to be precise, IVF treatment requires a successful embryo implantation which can be only possible if the eggs are good. Thus, directly or indirectly, the egg quality influences the success of IVF treatment. If an embryo looks good, it does not mean that the implantation will be carried out successfully. Many internal factors too contribute to the quality of eggs and thus the success of IVF treatment. These factors are discussed below.
Hormonal imbalance is one of the most widespread reasons behind many problems, and IVF treatment is no exception. When a woman is reported to have more than normal levels of the Follicle Stimulating Hormone or FSH on the third day of her menstrual cycle, then a popular term is used by the doctors, that is, “diminishes ovarian reserve.” What does this really mean? This means that the woman’s eggs are not healthy. Although they would look healthy and even get fertilized normally.
Not only this but they will also experience embryonic cleavage in a totally normal way. But the difference is that they won’t divide further beyond the eight-celled stage and implantation is impossible. What happens is that the ovaries do not produce enough signals that are required and the pituitary gland does not receive the signals that it should. So the body synthesizes more FSH to stimulate the ovaries. This ultimately leads to a diminished ovarian reserve and thus a decreased egg quality. Since implantation is not possible, IVF becomes a failure.
Advancing age of the woman
Imbalance in the FSH levels is not the only reason behind IVF failure. Even if the levels are okay, the age of the woman may also lead to failure. You must be wondering why. So here is the answer to your question. With age, the spindle fiber gets broken, and thus the chromosomes are not separated equally. This leads to unequal division of the chromosomes. Ultimately the eggs become abnormal genetically, and the embryo that results from them become abnormal too.
IVF success relies on a number of factors and egg quality is just one of them. But it is also one of the crucial factors. Speak to your doctor and be sure from beforehand about your egg quality so that your efforts do not go waste.

Why your EQ is the most important factor for your happiness?
A higher Intelligence Quotient does not guarantee your happiness or success in life. To succeed in life, it is not your IQ, but your EQ that plays a bigger role. Emotional Quotient(EQ) or emotional intelligence stands for your ability to understand and manage your emotions effectively. It influences various aspects of your life, from how you behave to how you interact with others, and has a direct effect on your happiness levels, life quality and self-satisfaction.
Several studies on emotional intelligence have revealed that while about 80% of the common man's success is linked to emotional intelligence, only the remaining 20% is a result of his intelligence quotient! So, how does EQ affect your life?
- At Work: At the workplace, emotional intelligence can have a significant impact on your performance. It shapes your business as well as professional relationships, while helping you to navigate the social complexities that characterise a place of work.
- For Your Health: It affects your physical health too, as management of stress levels is directly linked to your EQ levels. High stress levels can make you susceptible to many diseases like stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure, etc. Likewise, if you're unable to handle and manage your emotions effectively, it can lead to mental problems like depression, mood swings and anxiety.
- Personal Relationships: The role of EQ can't be ignored when it comes to building relationships. It enables you to communicate successfully, while helping you to build stronger relationships.Whether they are your professional relationships or personal ones, a better understanding and control of your emotions is imperative for not only a better expression of your feelings, but also for a complete understanding of what others are feeling.
So, how can you improve your EQ?
Unlike IQ, you can certainly improve your EQ significantly by developing and honing these key abilities.
1. The ability to manage negative emotions
Although both negative and positive emotions are needed to succeed in life, sometimes, negative emotions can overwhelm you, affecting your judgement.Developing skills that do not let negative emotions get to you can significantly increase your EQ levels.
2. The ability to reduce stress
Effectively controlling and managing stress is also an ability, the development of which can bring you great success in life. Staying focused, balanced and in control is what you should aim at when under severe pressure. You should be able to quieten yourself down quickly, while relieving yourself from stress.
3. The ability to stay positive even in times of difficulty
Last but not the least, when faced with a difficult situation or even a difficult person, it's crucial to remain positive as then the difficulty faced becomes easier to handle. Arriving at resolutions for difficult situations positively and with confidence is what you should strive to do.
EQ helps you to do well at work, build strong relationships and accomplish your personal and career goals.
What is it?
Tooth whitening lightens teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration. Whitening is among the most popular cosmetic dental procedures because it can greatly improve how your teeth look. Most dentists perform tooth whitening. Whitening is not a one time procedure. It will need to be repeated from time to time if you want to maintain the brighter color.
What it is used for?
The outer layer of the tooth is called the enamel. The color of natural teeth is created by the reflection and scattering of light off the enamel, combined with the color of the dentin under it. Your genes affect the thickness and smoothness of the enamel. Thinner enamel allows more of the color of the dentin to show through. Having smoother or rougher enamel also affects the reflection of light and therefore the color.
Every day, a thin coating (pellicle) forms on the enamel and picks up stains. Tooth enamel also contains pores that can hold stains. The most common reasons for teeth to get yellow or stained are:
- Using tobacco
- Drinking dark colored liquids such as coffee, cola, tea and red wine
- Not taking good care of your teeth
Aging makes teeth less bright as the enamel gets thinner and the dentin becomes darker. It is also possible to have stains inside the tooth. These are called intrinsic stains. For example, intrinsic stains can be caused by exposure to too much fluoride as a child while teeth are developing. Other causes include tetracycline antibiotics. They can stain a child's teeth if taken by a mother during the second half of pregnancy or by a child who is 8 years old or younger. Teeth are still developing during these years. Trauma can also darken a tooth and tooth whitening is the most effective way to treat on surface (extrinsic) stains.
I was getting intimate on 3rd September and my period date was 6th September but on 3rd September I take ipill and on 8th September my periods starts but this month I missed my periods I am pregnant? Or its late because of ipill.
My period cycle is usually 28 days ie 22 feb then 19 march then 16 april but this time they are late I had spotting for 2 3 days on 7,8,9 may. I am not sexually active so what can be the chances for these late periods other than pregnancy.

Blood pressure is the thrust exerted by the blood against the artery walls or blood vessels. A certain count of blood pressure is necessary for blood circulation, but anything excessive may prove to be trouble. A reading above the count considered normal; 140/90 (mmHg) may induce symptoms, such as short breath, severe headaches, nosebleeds and anxiety.
Any sort of hypertension during pregnancy can take a toll on the baby.
1. Preeclampsia is a condition wherein, the blood pressure peeks high after 20 weeks of conception accompanied by traces of protein in urine and functional disorders in a few organs.
2. Hypertension might often result in the delivery of an underdeveloped (abnormally small size) baby.
4. The placenta detaches itself from the uterine wall much prior to the delivery.
5. Preeclampsia escalates one’s risks of suffering from heart disorders or other cardiovascular diseases.
6. It restricts the blood flow to the placenta (an organ nourishing the baby), thus cutting off adequate supply of oxygen and nutrients to the fetus.
Signs and symptoms:
1. Excessive protein content in urine
2. Impaired liver functioning
3. Low urine levels
5. Intense pain and tenderness in the upper abdomen
6. Problems in eyesight such as double vision or temporary loss of vision, light sensitivity and blurriness.
7. Abnormal swelling
8. Persistent and a severe headache
Medications do meddle with pregnancy. However, certain medications are considered safe to be used for keeping blood pressure levels under control. These include Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARBs) and Renin Inhibitors.
