Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

Avoid lifting heavy weights, improve your posture, avoid sitting for long hours, you need to do spinal muscle strengthening exercises, and do it consistently, to get results, you should also try this - to reduce your back pain.

Common Causes of Low Back Pain

Common Causes of Low Back Pain

Postural Causes:

The most common cause of low back pain is postural stress

Thus low back pain is frequently brought on by sitting for a long time in a poor position or prolonged bending in bad working positions heavy lifting and standing and lying for a long time in a poor position.  The low back is rounded and the lordosis has disappeared.

Unfortunately many people lose the lordosis much of the time and seldom or never increase it to its very maximum. If you reduce the lordosis for long periods at a time, year in, year out, and never properly restore it, you will eventually lose the ability to form the hollow.

It is known that a flattened low back is frequently associated with chronic low back problems. Most people naturally have a lordosis in the low back when they walk or run, and these activities often help to relieve low back pain.

When we are standing the lordosis is naturally present but in some individuals, when the standing posture is maintained for a long time, the lordosis can become excessive and pain will be produced of a different nature than that occurring during prolonged bending.

Of all these postural stresses the poor sitting posture is by far the one most commonly at fault. A poor sitting posture in itself may produce low back pain.

Once low back problems have developed, a poor sitting posture will perpetuate or worsen those problems. Poor standing postures and poor lying postures are also frequent causes of back pain.

You may have already found that your back pain appears only if you stand for long periods or only after you get into bed. Pain that behaves in this way is frequently caused by poor posture alone. If this is the case, it is easily rectified.

Pain of postural origin will not occur if you avoid prolonged overstretching. Should pain develop, it is an almost certain indication that you have fallen into a poor position and immediate steps must be taken to correct your posture.

Once the nature of your postural problem has been identified and you become aware of the steps you must take to correct it, you should not have to seek assistance whenever postural pain arises.

I have been taking one smallglass of warm water with half slice of medium size lemon and one full tea spoon of honey right in the morning. I have developed pain in knees, pain and edema in fees which are severely impeding my walking. There is pain in ankles also. Is this due to this drink?

Normally this should not be due to drink. Considering your age you have to get investigated for hypertension diabetes and for osteoarthritis knee. Get your blood pressure monitored along with fasting sugar .and get knee xray ap and lateral in standing position. Hope this information is helpful can contact for further assistance.

Hello, I had partial ligament tear around 8 months ago in USA. Doctor there did X-ray and confirmed no issue but I can't walk much at all. I came to India 6 months ago and visited a doctor. Doctor initially diagnosed as ligament tear and some other tears but with arthroscopy confirmed partial tear. I am doing physical therapy and cycling but not great improvement. Kindly suggest.

Wear knee cap so that you will feel firm while walking or climbing stairs. This is a general strain and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try! One time you can do hot water fermentation that would help to reduce the muscle strain.

I have been having a lot of back ache and shoulder problems. I think I strained some muscles as im nto a lot of sports. Please suggest some remedy.
