You did the right thing. Headache is not related to ipill or pregnancy. She is unlikely to become pregnant. If she misses period by 7 days then check pregnancy by kit

Hi, I'm 27 years old my last LMP was 8 jan 2015 and I checked on 8 feb I got positive in urine test and went to doc she has done a vaginal scan no sac has seen and then she said for blood beta test that also came positive with 416 miu/ml and then she said that to do the test after 2 days. So my question is this range is good for 4 weeks 0 days and why the sac did not seen and this range can be doubled. please tell me.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, FMAS, DMAS
Gynaecologist, Noida
Hello, It is too early actually as the gestation would only have been 2 weeks practically after fertilisation. This at present is an ongoing pregnancy which is too small to even may have been missed on ultrasound. If the SECOND BETA HCG TEST LEVELS ARE MORE THAN 65%raised than previous levels then its an ongoing pregnancy.

Hi doctor I'm suffering from hypothyroidism since my first pregnancy during my pregnancy my tsh was 7.28 I am hvng thyronorm 50 mg after my delivery my tsh was in control it was 2 then I stop the tablets after two months suddenly my weight gains and my back is aching my tsh increase from 6.68 again I start having tablets nw my tsh is 2 is there any chance of getting rid of this or I hv to take medicines fr rest of ma life am 23 years old only.

MBBS, DNB (General Medicine)
Endocrinologist, Delhi
Dear lybrate user, plenty of questions from a lot of patients deals with" getting rid of medicines" I wonder why taking medicines is more important then enduring the disease. In hypothyroidism the thyroid hormone needs to be replaced by taking a single pill medicine every day. If not taken then hypothyroidism can have disastrous effects on your body. But people continue to hate medicines more than the disease. As doctors you fail to understand the psychology.

If I took pills for unwanted pregnancy ,then it will reduce my further pregnancy chances? Is it true?

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
I understand your concern... Single use of I pill do not affect the future pregnancy. I pill is actually high dose progesterone. Effect of it will last only for a month. But repeated use may cause menstrual irregularity and indirectly may affect the ovulation. There is no definitive study to prove its effect on future pregnancy.. So use an alternative contraceptive measure instead of repeated use of the pill.

IRON SUPPLEMENTATION TIPS

BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
IRON SUPPLEMENTATION TIPS
Person taking iron supplements should check his/her complete hemogram by blood test. Get your blood test done for assessing the hemoglobin and blood indices to know about the efficacy of the supplements. Never take iron supplement haphazardly for a month or two and discontinue it; always confirm its action and verify whether it needs to be continued further.
There is no fixed course for iron. You need to continue till your body stores are adequate in iron. A regular follow-up blood test is most essential to prevent iron overload. There is no need to take extra supplemental iron unless indicated.
Continue using food sources of iron even after stopping the tablet/syrup as food sources will never cause iron overload. Common foods being beet, green veggies, dates, figs, raisins, sesame seeds, almonds.
If you are not responding to the iron or your hemoglobin keeps dropping frequently, you need to rule out hemoglobin related disorders.
But, but, but. Try doing this first -
Include vitamin a (carrots, peach, papaya, mango, green vegetables), copper (whole grains, almonds, pista, figs, dates, walnuts, raisins) and vitamin c to improve absorption of iron.
Our indian dish'aloo-palak' is a good example of food combination to maximize efficacy of nutrient absorption. Forget the technical jargon.
What I mean is that you get iron from palak and vitamin c, vitamin a and copper from the potato, so it enhances the iron absorption.
Point to note:
Do not take your anti-acidity syrups, tablets or capsules with iron. It will just not allow that iron to be absorbed.
Do not drink cow or buffalo or soya milk to gulp that iron tablet, it will just not allow.
Do not take tea or coffee with iron tablet; it will just not allow.
So, get the best out of that iron tablet, so that you can discontinue it sooner.

I am 17. I sometimes have some vaginal discharge. It becomes more just before my periods are about to start. And other days of month it is sometimes there (less) sometimes not. Is it normal?

3. Inhibited ejaculation, retarded ejaculation, when the man is slow to ejaculate.
4. Retrograde ejaculation, where the ejaculation goes into the bladder instead of out of the penis.
5. Less interest in sex, loss of sex drive or libido.

What causes men's sexual problems?

Men's sex problems may be due to:

How are men's sex problems diagnosed?

A doctor will ask about symptoms, review a man's medical history and may carry out a physical examination.

  • Checking blood flow to the penis for any blockages or restrictions
  • Nerve checks, for any loss of sensation, such as complications of diabetes
  • Night-time penis rigidity tests, to check if natural erections that happen at night are stronger than a man may experience while awake, which may suggest psychological causes.

Hello lybrate user- Oligo mennhorea or less flow during menses might occur due to two causes, first if you have developed anaemia (low hb count) or you have hormonal disturbances due to PCOD/THYROID disease. Avoid spicy diet and increase dairy products in your meals. Keep your bowel clean , eat figs and raisins daily. Massage your abdomen daily with castor oil. Start consuming ayurvedic medicines like Dashmularistha etc.
