For that darkness, pigmentation,[discolouration], you try to apply talcum powder, or moisturiser before you waer the spects, that will reduce the spotsby decreasing the friction caused by spects. Other than that, you apply, milkcreams with soaked alomond paste daily over the marks, daily twice, before going to sleep, then in morning you can wash it with normal water. Gives good result in long way.

My 7 months old baby has got prickly heat rashes all over his neck. I applied calamine but no use. It' s very itchy for him. Please do help out.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Try calosoft and let me know. Babies and children can also get prickly heat rash during hot or humid weather because their sweat glands are not fully developed. Prickly heat causes an itchy rash of small red raised red spots with a prickling or stinging sensation. Prickly heat usually affects parts of the body covered by clothes, such as the back, abdomen, neck, upper chest, groin or armpits. In most cases, heat rash will clear up on its own in a few days if the affected area is kept cool and dry. Avoid excessive heat and humidity and cool off with a fan, take a cool shower or bath and let your skin air dry, or if you have air-conditioning, use this to cool yourself. Once the skin is cool and dry again, don? t use any type of oil-based product, which might block your sweat glands. Calamine lotion and/or hydrocortisone cream can relieve itching and irritation. Please if your prickly heat does not go away within a few days, or if you develop an infection where the bumps have burst, you may need medication, so so seek medical advice. You can ask me in ask privately option. I will be writing an article on prickly heat among other things in health tips / diseases column there is already an please article by me. You ask with name, mail id and phone no. Inform the progress after using calosoft cream regards

Facial Scrubs - Is Too Much Too Bad?

Facial Scrubs - Is Too Much Too Bad?

Everybody is particular about how they look. Skin care has assumed great importance compared to a couple of decades ago. With skin care assuming so much, everybody talks of cleansing, scrubbing, toning, moisturising, what not! What we need to realise is that anything in excess is bad. Talking of scrubbing, it has been promoted as the perfect way to remove dead cells from the skin and keep the skin looking young and radiant. After scrubbing, the skin that is left behind is brand-new with fresh cells from the underlying layers, which glows out. While this is the intention, there are questions to ask in terms of – what to use for scrubbing, how often, ideal products, etc.

Scrubbing can be done chemically or physically. Chemical scrubs include products like salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, or citric acid. These remove the dried, dead cells from the top and leave a radiant, fresh skin behind.

Physical scrubs use salts, almond, apricot peel, and tiny beads of microplastics. These microbeads are not just harmful to the skin, they are also not eco-friendly. Though not visible to the naked eye, these microbeads, as the name suggests, are small, tiny plastic beads which act as a physical scrub and help in removing the top layers of the skin. They get into the water as sediments and cannot be removed. When accumulated over a period of time, there is no way to get rid of them. Many products have been banned in Australia and the USA for containing these microbeads.

Another thing to consider when scrubbing is the type of skin. While oily skin can take a little more of the scrubbing load, dry, flaky skin should not be over-scrubbed. Exfoliating agents can be used once in a while, but if you ask a dermatologist if your skin needs daily exfoliation, the answer would be a big NO. Oily skin can benefit from gel-based scrubs, while dry skin can benefit from cream-based ones. If you have sensitive skin, use a mild exfoliating agent. There are multiple products being promoted as daily scrubs which are easy on the skin, but it is best to stay away from these for regular use.

Alternatively, there are multiple regular home/kitchen products which can be used as scrubs. Gram flour, milk cream, lime juice, sugar, oatmeal, ground coffee can be used periodically to get the same scrubbing effects. What is also important to note is it is not just the face that needs the scrubbing. Surfaces with thicker skin like the knees and elbows also benefit from occasional scrubbing.

The mantra is to not overdo it, but go with moderation and get the benefits of scrubbing with a glowing, radiant skin.

Cracked, dry or sore lips are common in dry, cold weather. Chronically cracked lips might be a symptom of a more serious illness, but cracked lips can usually be treated using home remedies. Drink plenty of fluids. Having 8-10 glasses of water per day is ideal. When your body is dehydrated, it often shows first in your lips. Don't lick or pick at your lips. When your lips are chapped, avoid the temptation to lick them constantly or pick at them. These two common habits just make the situation worse. Licking your lips may bring temporary relief, but as the saliva on your lips evaporates, it dries out your lips. Picking at the skin on your lips may lead to bleeding, an infection, or a cold sore. If you feel the urge to lick or pick at your lips, immediately apply a lip balm instead. Reapply lip balm or ointment after drinking or rinsing out your mouth. Exfoliate your lips. Before applying any sort of ointment, remove the dead skin using an exfoliation method. This will expose the fresh skin and help your lips start to heal. Don't rub your lips too harshly - that could make things worse. Gently massage them. You can exfoliate your lips using the same items you use to exfoliate other areas on your body. Try one of the following: Use a salt or sugar scrub. Apply the scrub to your lips and massage them in a circular motion, rubbing away the dead skin (you can also try using sugar added to a little olive oil as an exfoliant). Your lips should feel soft and renewed. Use an exfoliating brush. The easiest brush to use in this case might be your toothbrush! Just make sure it's clean. Any other small, soft-bristle brush will also do. Rub it over your lips in a circular motion to remove dead skin. Don't use a soap-based exfoliant. Face wash with scrubbing beads and other soap-based exfoliants will dry out your lips further. Look for a lip balm that contains beeswax, shea butter, coconut butter, almond oil, or other natural moisturizers - and not much else. Don't choose a lip balm with an extra-long list of ingredients you can't pronounce. A vitamin E or glycerin-based ointment containing other natural ingredients could also be helpful. Apply oils. For an ultra-moisturizing lip treatment, rub a little oil on your lips. It will sooth and moisturize your lips while also protecting them from further damage. Use natural moisturizers made from nut oils and seed butters.

Due to sun exposure, the colour of your exposed body skin gets darker as compared to the covered areas.Certain dietary modifications also helps in reducing sun tan..You should consume carrots.eggs, mangoes, cheese, spinach, tomatoes, apricot, plums and peaches, tender coconut, buttermilk. The food rich in antioxidants will add a natural glow to your skin and the free radicals available in these fight against the harmful sun rays. You may also go for peels and skin polishing to reduce tan.If you wd like to go for a more natural approach, you can try rubbing the slices of lemons, potato, tomatoes, cucumber which are also found to be beneficial in clearing the complexion. You may use suncross lotion in the morning.

Hi lybrate-user, I would recommend you to use rose petals for that, soak some rose petals in milk for 15 min after that take out the petals and add some drops of honey and glycerine to in it. Make it a paste apply on your lips. Leave it at least for 20 min. OR and you could also use pomegranates seeds and milk for that. Put some musters oil to the umbilicus, do it on daily bases. Stop smoking. Drink plenty of water. Also watch your are taking a healthy diet. Take proper sleep of 6 to 8 hours. And do some facial exercise daily. If you suffer from acne, pimples, blackheads & dark spots it means that the pitta dosha (heat in body) is increased. For that you need proper ayurvedic medicine along with following diet & lifestyle changes. 1) avoid eating salty, spicy & sour foods 2) have milk & ghee twice daily 3) green tea has antimicrobial and antioxidant compounds that can help fight acne. To get its effects, use a cooled cup of green tea as a face wash or lay the bag over the affected area. 4) apply a teaspoon of honey to affected areas, or make a mask by mixing 1/2 cup of honey with 1 cup of plain oatmeal and leaving it on for 30 minutes.

I am suffering from skin problem, my skin is dry so I am having red scars in my face please help.
To maintain the skin health and reduce the dry skin condition follow this - 1.Bathe with gentle soaps. If possible use some natural ingredients like gramflour, turmeric mixed with some milk to bathe daily. This does not wash your skin off the natural oils. 2.Keep your bath short and do not use hot water to bathe. Use only lukewarm water. 3.Apply Vitamin E oil or warm olive oil on the body after bathing. You can also use a good moisturiser. 4.Cocoa butter mixed with wheat germ oil is also very good at maintaining the skin health. 5.You can mix some oils like – Sesame, olive, virgin coconut oil, wheat germ oil to apply before going to bed. 6.Consume diet that is rich in vitamin E, omega 3 and 6 and other skin friendly vitamins like vitamin E and A. Eat almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds, sesame seeds to maintain skin health. 7.Keep yourself hydrated. Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water to keep your skin soft and supple.

Topical creams with alpha hydroxyl acids or topical retinoids are important to start with, further treatments such as metabolic peels, diamond microdermabrasion and lasers like qharmony or renew are ideal for eradicating pigmentation entirely. Also make sure to wear your sunscreen no matter what otherwise the pigmentation can come back!

And during surgery cortex of lens was strongly adherent to posterior capsule. So he had to do anterior vitrectomyou also. His vision is also improved after 5 days of surgery bt he says that he feels a horse shoe shaped black area in his visual field. . His retina is checked and it's normal. Dear:- posteriour polar cataract surgery needs better preplanned investigation (sle) to diagnosed accurately & manage accordingly. As per your information, posterior capsule has been ruptured accidently. Posteriour capsule rupture will cause vitreous prolapse, keratitis, post. Op. Glaucoma, impairment of vision & other complication later also. Through fundus examination is needed to exclude any retinal detachment or hole. Vitreous floater may be rule out also.
