Dear lybrate-user, as we need to avoid drugs during pregnancy, try to change your feeding pattern. Avoid lot of spicy, citrus food, milk and fruits. Take small frequent normal diet. You can take antacids if burning sensation occurs. However if symptoms are really bothering you then consult Gastroenterologist.

Why did she take 5 tablets of ipill .ipill causes hormonal imbalance leading to menstrual irregularities. Intake of 5 tablet of ipill wil alter her hormonal balance. Chances of pregnancy are very less ,but if she misses her period do a urine pregnancy test.

Please note the following in respect to your queries: There is no definitive way to prevent a Bartholin’s abscess. But practices such as safe sex, condom use, and good hygiene will help keep bacteria out of the area, which can help prevent infection. It is also important to find out if you have an STD, and to seek treatment if you do. Maintaining a healthy urinary tract may help prevent Bartholin’s cysts and abscesses from developing. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, and try to avoid waiting a long time to go to the bathroom. Cranberry supplements may help support good urinary tract health. Treatment: Sitz baths can be helpful -- a sitz bath refers to sitting in a tub with 2 to 3 inches of warm water. It may take many days of sitz baths to treat the abscess because the opening of the Bartholin’s gland is very small, and it may close before drainage is complete.

Hello, If you have undergone family planning operation , then its a permanent sterilisation method. No home remedies can cause recanalisation. Repeat tubal recanalisation can be done after cutting the tubes and rejoining them again , but only by surgery. Regards

Hi I am married 5 months back and I want be pregnant and my last period was on 4th and when ever we do sex semen come...
Even if whole of the semen flows out, the few drops inside also contains millions of sperms which, if healthy will swim up to cause a pregnancy. 5 months is too small a time, give yourselves an year atleast and practice midcycle coitus that is sex during 7-18 th day of cycle.

Hello. Check your diet. Advice to add more fibrous vegetables, fruits. Reduce ground nut, chick pea, bengal gram. If there is any feeling of fullness drink hot water with fried cumin seeds. Have dhanwantara tablet 2-3tablet for the abdominal distension, nausea (feels to vomit. Safe to take in pregnancy too.

6 Best Homeopathy Remedies To Cure Anemia!

In this fast-moving world, everyone is so busy that it's hard to take self-care. People give less importance to what they eat, when they sleep and so on. Conditions such as anaemia have become very common, and we still neglect knowingly and unknowingly. You tend to find quick alternatives. Homoeopathy is the alternative for such a condition.

Understand Anemia: If hemoglobin (that carries oxygen throughout the body) count is less in red blood cells, such condition is known as anaemia. Body doesn't receive enough oxygen, thereby leading to weakness and fatigue. Anaemia can affect all age groups; from kids to elders.

Apart from poor diet, certain anaemic conditions could be hereditary, which are beyond one's control. Women who are of childbearing age tend to be anaemic due to menstruation.

Causes and Types:

  • Accidental blood loss, child birth or medical conditions such as gastric ulcer lead to haemorrhage, which ultimately lead to anaemia.
  • Iron deficiency during pregnancy, poor diet or haemorrhage may cause anaemia
  • Megaloblastic anaemia occurs due to deficiency of Vitamin B12 (Folic Acid).
  • Pernicious anaemia occurs due to autoimmune disorder. One is unable to absorb Vitamin B12 adequately.
  • Hemolytic anaemia is caused to destruction of red blood cells during ill health conditions such as in malaria or due to irregular red blood cells such as in Sickle-Cell Anemia.
  • In a condition where haemoglobin production is impaired due to hereditary disorder, it is called Thallasemia.

Homeopathic Remedy:
There are numerous homeopathic treatments available for anaemia.

  1. Aletris Farinosa is mainly given to women who are extremely weak and feel tired. Such patients always feel tired with minimal energy levels. Vertigo and fainting are quite common. Facial skin looks pale.
  2. China is the best for one who experiences excessive bleeding. Bleeding could be due to traumatic injury, periods and so on. The person is usually tired and faints quite often. China is used to control haemorrhage as well as improves blood quantity after bleeding episodes.
  3. Cinchona also helps to treat anaemia due to blood loss.
  4. Ferrum Metallicum is considered to be the best homeopathic medicine for anaemia.
  5. Natrum Mur helps to treat anaemia due to grief. Reasons could be personal tragedy or any other circumstance. The condition worsens due to heat. One tends to ingest more of salt content food.
  6. Nit-acid-One is given to anaemic persons who have a desire to eat chalk, paper and earth.

Besides these treatments, eat iron-rich food and have a regular blood check-up at least once in six months. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a homeopath.

Hello, itz normal for some fluid to come out after the intercourse. So do not worry about that. The chance of a pregnancy per cycle is about 20_30%. So try for another six months after which you could see a doc. Eat a healthy diet with regular exercise.

Hi , you are just 21yrs and 6 months is not a long time so don't worry. There is nothing like hot body and don't start any medication unnecessarily. First of all start taking folic acid tab. Start keeping record of pattern of your menstrual periods that will help to calculate fertile phase and make best use of fertile phase, this will definitely help you. Try this for minimum 3 months, if no response, again contact me.

IVF - 9 Benefits You Must Know!

MD, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
IVF - 9 Benefits You Must Know!

As we all know that IVF stands for In vitro fertilisation. It is a method of stimulating the ovaries in a female body, to release an ovum (egg), which is taken out of the body and fertilised artificially in the laboratory with the help of a sperm. After this, the embryo is transferred back to the uterus where it grows and develops naturally.

Understanding the Procedure

  1. The doctor attempts to have complete control over your menstrual and ovulation cycles, so as to know the correct time of the month when you ovulate. This includes, charting basal body temperatures, hormonal therapy drugs etc.
  2. Frequent blood tests, ultrasound will be required to map the progress of ovulation.
  3. Injections, drugs will be prescribed in required dosage to stimulate the ovaries.
  4. During this time, the doctors will monitor the growth of oocytes (eggs).
  5. After a suitable growth of the oocytes follicles, the eggs are retrieved for artificial insemination. (Fertilisation with the use of sperm cells in the laboratory).
  6. After the successful fertilisation, the embryo is transferred back to the uterus.

Can IVF have side effects?

  1. As a side effect it has a major chance of multiple pregnancies. People intending to have just one child, may not be mentally or economically prepared to take the responsibility of more than one child.
  2. The drugs and medicines used throughout the IVF procedure may create hormonal complications in the long run. It bears a risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, if the mother has to go through the cycle multiple times.

But it offers a number of benefits too...

  1. IVF increases the chance of pregnancy by a large percentage. It is one of the most successful methods of boosting fertility and pregnancy.
  2. Couples, who have repeatedly failed to bear children naturally, can opt for this treatment to produce their own offspring.
  3. In case the couples are completely infertile, donor eggs or sperms may be used in the process. However, in that case, the offspring will not bear the DNA of both parents.
  4. IVF can greatly reduce the chance of surgery on the fallopian tubes.
  5. IVF also provides an opportunity to choose the healthiest embryos before implanting it back in the uterus. A procedure, known as the pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, determines the presence of any abnormal genes or other chromosomal absurdity.
  6. The procedure of IVF has a very high success rate and with technological advancements in the field of medicine, it has also become much safer.
  7. IVF allows women, who go into premature menopause, to be able to bear a child. This treatment is mostly for women who decide to experience motherhood at a slightly older age.
  8. IVF allows same sex partners and single women to bear an offspring.
  9. It is extremely helpful for women who have their fallopian tubes damaged, blocked or surgically removed. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gynaecologist.

How To Snack In A More Healthy Way

Post Graduate Diploma In Nutrition And Dietetics, B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
How To Snack In A More Healthy Way

What do you do when the munchies strike? Do you look for the healthiest option and wait for it? Or do you simply grab what you see instantly and stuff it in before you have second thoughts about it? Chances are, you may be onto a healthy diet which is being countered by an unhealthy snack time. So what can you do to snack in a healthy way? Read on to know more!

  1. Take Smaller Meals: Instead of doing three feast like meals and then vowing to stay hungry in between, it is better to instead divide your meals into five or six mini meals that will keep you going the whole day. This will keep you feeling full, and prevent you from reaching out for fatty, oily or excessively sweet food.
  2. Timing Matters: Knowing when and how to take your meals will decide whether or not you feel hungry for a snack at odd hours. Try to have breakfast within an hour after you wake up, and have your last meal well before bedtime. This will give your metabolism a kick and keep it working until your body's digestive fires are on so that you do not feel the need for snacks.
  3. Healthy Snacks: Who said snacks need to be composed entirely of junk food? You can create mini meals out of healthy sacks and learn to enjoy them too. Carry a small airtight jar of mixed dry fruits and nuts, roasted flaxseed, and other such ingredients which you can munch on. These ingredients help in curbing the hunger to a great extent. Also, you can indulge in a portion of fruit between one meal, and a salad between another. Whole grain crackers can also save you a great deal of calories.
  4. Bring Protein and Carbohydrates Together: Looking for a quick dose of energy as you sit slumped at your work desk, ready to demolish an entire muffin? Well, think of proteins and carbohydrates instead. A yummy dip with whole grain crackers, or a box of chickpeas seasoned with your favourite condiments, will do the trick. These snacks will help keep you full for longer periods, even as they give you a shot of energy without an unhealthy diet.
  5. Small Treats: Get yourself a small treat every once in a while so that you remember to enjoy the smaller things without going full on binge.
  6. Multitask: Get on to an important task while you snack so that you end up eating less, and you work more of your energy into the task instead.
  7. Snacking is not the offense: Snacking on the wrong thing is. So remember to be mindful of these tricks to get yourself a healthier snack.
