2 Best Chiropractic Exercises/stretches for Mid Back Pain

2 Best Chiropractic Exercises/stretches for Mid Back Pain

Kneeling Thread the Needle

As daily stressors build up, we often don’t notice the tension in our upper back until we have a stiff neck or headache. This stretch helps to alleviate the tension by loosening the muscles of the back and neck.

1.Begin the stretch in a flat table top position on your hands and knees. Extend your right arm out to the side in line with your shoulder.

2.To get into the proper stretch position, bend your left elbow down as you reach your right arm along the floor under and across your body. Reach as far as you can until you feel a stretch along the right side or until your right shoulder is on the floor.

EASIER: As an option to getting on the floor for this stretch, try leaning over a table or desk.

Lying Chest Lift (Cobra)

If you’re looking for a stretch that’s relaxing yet works the entire torso, this stretch is for you! It provides an excellent release for the spine and benefits the abdominal muscles as well as many other muscles and joints.

1.Begin by lying flat on the floor with your hands shoulder width apart in line with your eyes.Keep your toes on the floor.

2.Keeping your lower body in contact with the floor, raise your shoulders and head as far as your flexibility allows.

3.Extend your arms fully and push your upper body up toward the ceiling, finishing with your neck long and head high.

Tips to Avoid Stretching the Muscles the Wrong Way

Stretching the Wrong Way Feeling pain in the muscle and not breathing during stretching are counterproductive, there are other things that should also be avoided.

One of the most important rules is to never static stretch a cold muscle. This being said, you should always do an active warm-up before you begin static stretching. This could be a short walk or jog or a routine of dynamic stretches prior to a workout; or you could wait to complete your stretching routine after a workout.

Stretching with a foam roller and/or dynamic stretch that can also be performed before starting static stretches.Another rule to remember is you should never “bounce” as you’re holding a stretch. This can lead to injury to the muscles or connective tissues.

Dynamic stretching can provide superior results and is considered much safer. Don’t look at stretching as a way to heal an injury. If you feel like you’ve injured a muscle, consult with a doctor before beginning a stretching routine. Overstretching too soon after some injuries can extend your recovery time

Simultaneously it is better to wear MCR chappals (micro cellular rubber) which will help to transfer the Plantar Fascitis weight evenly in the feet so that the weight will be completely felt in the heel area. You shall do contrast bath to relieve this pain. Contrast bath is nothing but keeping in one tub hot water (bearable heat) and in another tub cold water Ask your father to apply ice in the painful area which would definitely help to greater extent. If still the pain persists then it is better to keep TENS stimulation at one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics.

Understanding Foot Pain: Causes And Treatments

Understanding Foot Pain: Causes And Treatments

Our body is a mechanical wonder and it is truly amazing how each part, from head to toe, has its own role to play. Our feet has one of the most complex mechanisms in the body. The way it works is just so intricate and fascinating! But, due to being so complex, there are a lot of things which have the potential to go wrong and cause a foot to begin to pain.

Taking into account the various troubles the foot can have, does it not make sense to learn what some of the causes are?

Sprains and strains are just so common when it comes to the causes of foot pain. That being said, there are quite a lot of people who do not really know how to tell the difference, exactly, between an injury such as this and something which is more serious. This is what causes a lot of terrible injuries to go untreated for quite some time, leading to them getting progressively worse.

While the name of the condition may be difficult, plantar fasciitis is the fancy name for a swelling up of a certain ligament and too much pressure is the reason behind it. The ligament is the one which is responsible for connecting the heel bone to the toes. When it comes to what is to be done in order to treat this sort of condition, the most important thing is to make sure the foot is rested to a sufficient extent. After all, it is too much use which got the injury to occur in the first place, right?

In addition to this, heel and foot stretches are of high importance and if the pain is very bad, pain relief medicines are to be taken, but a person should make sure that he or she does not become too reliant on these sort of medicines.

A stone bruise is something, which need not take place due to a stone, but the term does quite a good job of explaining why such an injury occurs in the first place. If a hard object is stepped on, it can cause an injury to the heel or to the ball of the foot. Again, in a case like this, it is important to rest the area. Also, applying ice to it will help it go away sooner than it normally would have.

A heel fracture may have similar causes to a stone bruise, but is more intense. Serious medical attention is required as it may not only break the heel but also cause related damage. A wheelchair or crutches are the way to go and a cast is required in most cases.

Hi, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back and neck pains. If you have localized back & neck pain with no other symptoms like radiating upper limb pain or leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc and with no other associated constitutional symptoms like evening rise in temperature, loss of weight, excessive sweating at night etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back and neck while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and neck region and few blood tests for evaluation. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.
