I got intimate with my bf 3 months before I got the periods for last 2 months. This month my periods got delayed so I am very tensed. Is it that I am pregnant ? Or its just delay? If it is delayed how I can get my periods ?

Sorry to say but you doctors didn't get what I was asking. I am surprised not even a single doctor read question carefully. I only asked home medicine for lycoriya. BrEast and pain and all was symptoms. Every doctor who gave answer was centered on breast enlarge.

General Surgeon, Gandhinagar
Cleanliness and drying of area, treatment of anemia and vit a def, stress releaving exercise, pranayam and meditation. Specific treatment includes galo powder + katho powder + haldi powder equal part. 2 tsf bd with honey. Sitting in neem water for 5 minutes or vaginal douse with neem water. Local application of gv is sufficient in case of curd like discharge. Neem water can lead to sterility if used for prolonged period in months. Natural diet like fruits and vegetables - amla - will help. Freez water and cold drinks to be avoided. Cotton cloths will provide air circulation for necessary dry ness. More can be done with help of history and diagnosis. Respected jasvir hope this will help you out in best ways for leucorrhoea. Thanks regards hope for your early & best recovery.

2-3 days before my actual periods I observe a slight bleeding. And I get heavy periods accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen. Is there anything to worry? How can I get rid of the pain during those days?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
This happens because of temporary hormonal imbalance. As this has occured for the first time, it does not warrant any further investigations or treatment. Observe future cycles and similar things r happening again and again then only go for tests or treatment.

Treating Pain with Acupuncture

Treating Pain with Acupuncture

Aches and pains are ailments that affect one and all at some point or the other. The myriad quick heal methods like pain killers and hot cold packs might accord temporary relief, but they aren't really effective in terms of curing the root of the problem. All these bodily pains are related to some innate illness and these painkillers merely provide superficial respite. Thus, a large number of people are growingly looking at alternative therapies, which not only remedy the pain, but also help in fighting the source of the disease.

Acupuncture for the longest time has occupied the imagination of many as a viable alternative to the harrowing mainstream clinical procedures. Integral to the ancient medicinal practises of the orient, acupuncture is replete with palliative properties and has been known to benefit a phenomenal number of people enduring serious distresses.

It is a natural way to stimulate the health boosting properties we are imbued with. The philosophy behind acupuncture endorses the fact that your bodies are hardwired to deal with any ailment from within. Acupuncture simply enhances such in- built defences and enables you to lead a healthier life. While you may be skeptical of the long drawn process that acupuncture involves, the benefits are many. Amongst other things it reduces your dependence on drugs, which is indeed an important aspect to consider. It generally involves gently pricking the pressure points of your body with sterilized needles and relying of the healing powers of your latent heat pressure.

It is especially effective in curing the following pains:

  1. Osteoarthritis: Acupuncture enhances the bone immunity and abates the joint pains immensely.
  2. Chronic headaches: Acupuncture relieves the stress on your cranial nerves and soothes the headaches that are caused by it.
  3. Menstrual Cramps: Menstrual cramps are caused by the contractions in the uterine muscles during the periods. Acupuncture hugely palliates such traumas.

My wife is pregnant. She is now in 9 month of pregnancy. My doubt is that. Does the movements of baby be limited before labor. Because from last 2days the movements are very less. please tell me if there is any indication of consultation of Dr.

MBBS, DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
OMG! . yes , movements reduce as pregnancy progresses towards term . But it should be monitored by a daily foetal movement count charting which the mother should keep. this can be specified over a consultation. An USG is also necessary to see the amount of liquor, and a doppler blood flow is also required to ensure safety of the baby.

The benefits of consumption of the right kind of the food are more than one. They are not only required for sustenance, but if chosen right, they also provide the right kind of boost to your sex life. Some of them are:

  1. Avocados: The reputation of avocados as an aphrodisiac has been well established over the years. Packed with unsaturated fats and being extremely low in saturated fats, they are very good for the heart which in turn keeps the men away from the risk of erectile dysfunction.
  2. Almonds: Almonds have always been associated as stimulants. They are rich in nutrients and other minerals that help in boosting your sexual health and also aid in the process of reproduction.
  3. Strawberries: They not only look delicious, but are rich in folic acid, one that keeps away birth defects in women.
  4. Oysters: Oysters have been long known as aphrodisiacs; consisting of zinc that boosts the libido. Other than oysters, several sea foods like salmon and herring are also known for their ability to enhance your sex life.
  5. Arugula: This leafy green helps in arousal and also helps in maintaining your sexual health. They do that by absorbing those contaminants in the environment that adversely affect your libido.
  6. Figs: Though this fruit may look funny, they serve as excellent aphrodisiacs and boost fertility. Filled with both soluble and insoluble fiber, they are equally beneficial for the heart.
  7. Citrus: Apart from its excellent taste, this fruit is rich in with vitamin C, antioxidants and folic acid, which help in the reproductive health of men.

Remember first principle- I pill is only for emergency it is not family planning method. There are many family planning methods. I pill changes hormonal balance. Chance of pregnancy very low, one has to wait for period or observe missing period and do test to be sure.

Hi, Im 23 yrs. I got intimate with my fiance on 21 may (no penetration just rubbing genitals n fingering). After 6 days I got my periods on 27 may. On 8 June I did urine pregnancy test thrice all were negative. Could I be pregnant? Does the gap of 6 days matter? After how many days after sex does it show in sonography? I want to avoid this please help.

MD, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Pune
For conception, semen has to be ejaculated inside vagina at or around ovulation day, which comes 14 days Prior to the next due period. After this incidence you got your periods, so don't worry YOU ARE NOT PREGNANT. If no actual contacts occurred after recent periods, then don't worry. Each month only one egg get released, which if not get fertilized will be washed away during periods. You don't have contacts after that, then you are not pregnant.

I am having irregular periods from 5-6 months. What is the reason? Can you please help me out?

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Haldwani
Hello- Irregular periods occur due to hormonal imbalance and slow body metabolism. If you are over weight thn the fat metabolism is hampering the blood metabolism in your body and thus creating a type of deficiency which can manifest as irregular menses. -Exercise daily, and reduce fat specially from your belly. -Consume cows ghee.(Its the only natural fat which promotes normal menses due to its rich Omega-3 and other vital components) -Keep you bowel clean. Gaseous distension sometimes obstruct the menstrual; blood flow. -Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. -Drink plenty of water to detoxify your body.

Dear user. SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH PREGNANT WOMEN is not advisable during the first three months and the last three months of pregnancy. You can have sexual intercourse during the middle three months of pregnancy but only after permission from your gynecologist. Take care.
