Tailbone pain (Coccydynia)

Pain that occurs in or around the bony structure at the bottom of the spine (coccyx) — can be caused by trauma to the coccyx during a fall, prolonged sitting on a hard or narrow surface, degenerative joint changes, or vaginal childbirth and sometime repeated trauma in the form of cycling with hard seat.

Pain at the lowest part of spine(tailbone) but typically becomes sharp during certain activities, such as sitting, rising from a seated to a standing position or prolonged standing. Defecation and sex also might become painful. For women, tailbone pain can make menstruation uncomfortable as well.

Tailbone pain, also called coccydynia or coccygodynia, usually heals on its own within a few weeks or months.
To lessen tailbone pain in the meantime:

• Lean forward while sitting down
• Sit on a doughnut-shaped pillow or wedge (V-shaped) cushion
• Apply heat or ice to the affected area
• painkiller

If your tailbone pain doesn't improve (chronic coccydynia), consult your doctor.

Possible treatments for chronic tailbone pain might include:

• Physical therapy
• Manipulation
• Surgery
Steroid injection locally also helps. Sometime it need prolonged treatment if related to osteoporosis or Chronic diseases like Tuberculosis.

It may be Kypho scoliosis. It is deformity of spine. Get x rays of your whole spine to see there is the bend. Treatment can be advised accordingly.

This is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind)1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do back(spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take

May be you are working. So it can be cervical too. So take rest. Avoid forward bending of neck. Do isometric exercises of neck. Be careful about posture. Avoid use of high pillows.

It needs to be investigated. Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Frozen Shoulder - Why Physiotherapy Is Crucial For It?

Frozen shoulder is a condition when somebody encounters continuous shoulder stiffness and pain. It could last for weeks. It is likely to occur when swelling increases around the shoulder which reduces inability to move or stretch properly. This ordinarily happens when somebody is recovering from an injury. Frozen shoulder at times happens when somebody is wearing a sling or a cast. It also occurs, if someone is recovering from surgery, experiencing joint pain or facing restraint of movement for other reasons.

A frozen shoulder can go on from a couple of months to as much as 3 years and the precise cause is unknown. Physiotherapy is often to treat this condition. It has been found that posture plays a huge part in your recovery from a frozen shoulder. The urgent goal is to get the shoulder join moving once again. The sooner this is done, the better are the odds of a quick recovery. Anti-inflammatory medicines, heat application and delicate stretching activities are performed with the assistance of a physiotherapist.

Physiotherapy is very crucial for a frozen shoulder since it is very difficult to get movement in the stiff joint without any exercise, stretching or other methods used by a physiotherapist. It is mostly crucial to get physiotherapy to:

  1. To reduce pain in the shoulder
  2. To increase the flexibility and strength of the shoulder
  3. To enhance movement of the shoulder.
  4. To increase endurance of the muscles

Physiotherapy treatment for a frozen shoulder depends on the stage you are on and is customized according to the needs of your condition. Physiotherapy treatments for a frozen shoulder include:

  1. Pain relief: Pain diminishing techniques including gentle shoulder movement exercises, muscle releases, needle therapy, dry needling and kinesiology taping for pain can help during the painful swelling phase.
  2. Defrosting: Shoulder mobilization and stretching are the best in order to achieve a full shoulder recovery. As your scope of movement increases, your physiotherapist will then be able to give you muscle strengthening exercises to control and keep up your recently found range of movement.
  3. Warm Up: Before beginning shoulder exercises for a frozen shoulder, try to warm up your shoulder keeping in mind the end goal. That is to help blood supply in the affected area and avoid future injuries. The best approach is to extend and warm up the shoulder by applying heat for 10 to 15 minutes, scrubbing down or showering with Epsom salt.

Physiotherapy does not bring out immediate results, but gradually. Flexibility will increase gradually. One should keep in mind, not to stretch their shoulder too quickly at once. This can lead to a ligament tear. The exercises should be tender and gradual. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a physiotherapist.

Hello lybrate user, cortex blow out in acl reconstruction means a fracture occured either at the time of injury or during surgery while preparing the tunnel for insertion of the new graft material. Your report says that a tunnel was created properly after booting the cortex blow out, so you should not be having too many problems after the procedure if an adequate fixation of the graft was achieved. Hello asking it again , I got my periods on 12th july and did intercourse just fr 2-3 mins using contraceptive (condom) on 17th july and afterwards I checked it and it was all ok (no leakage) . This month I should have got my periods on 10th but its 22 today and my cycle has not started yet. Yesterday I took pregnancy test and it was negative. From last month I am on regular workout and on ayurvedic medications so is there any point of worry. Please revert me back.

Pregnancy is not there. So no need to worry. Wait for another one week. If still no bleeding, consult gyaecologist to take drugs and get cured.

Continuous driving will show effect on the parts used, that is common, may be the seat posture,& hieght of seat you drive also at fault, which can be shown& rectified by any mechanic. Try to sit straight, lie on back, without keeping any pillow, on straight surface, take care that mattress is uniform, without any ups& downs, uneven dofew spscfc exercises, which will be taught by any yoga expert, or physio therapist. By following 2-3 sessions, you can do those regularly at home.

dear user. for you i suggest only simple knee excercises. sit on chair. move leg front and back 10 times twice a day. then lift leg up and down 10times. put rolled towel under knee and press it 20 times. apply heat fermentation with any pain relief ointment. you will be fine. if you have any problem in excercises. take physiotherapist advice
