My right neck shoulder and hand pains a lot. Doc said trapezius is in spasm. I use laptop a lot and smartphone too. I have long hair so I normally tie a jooda. Sometimes there is numbness in hand n fingers and sometimes there is pricking pain. I. M taking zerodol & multivitamins. But its not helping much.

Dear it's all because of the work strain that you are getting the problem. It may be associated with cervical spondylitis also as you say you have numbness in your hands and fingers. You need to do some exercises for your neck and keep ice pack on the trapezius. Wishing you good health.

Kindly show me photograph& the x rays of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. Contact me again, if needed.

It seems you are suffering from nerve compression. Whenever a back nerve compresses or impinge it creates pain over its nerve root. After looking to your pain I am recommending you something: Precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Place pillow under your legs while sleeping or can opt sidelying position for sleep. 5. Get enough vit d from sun as vit d keep bones strong including spine and other bones. 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the intervertebral disks. 7. Avoid prolonged standing. 8. Change your sitting position every 15 minutes so that it does not pain. If possible visit some neuro-physio who can give you several modalities like SWD, IFT, traction etc to cure the pain. Along with it we have a special program designed in case of sciatica that is Butler’s mobilisation and Mckenzie exercises which a physio gives with the proper technique to get cure from disease. I understand your pain so I am suggesting you the following treatment that you can take at home and can get some relief from pain and discomfort. Treatment: 1. Use of Cold packs- Sometimes piriformis muscle gets tight which cause impingement of sciatic nerve leading to tingling and numbness sensation down into the leg. So ice massage can be given over the area of piriformis muscle or the entire back for 15 min. Once done with cold therapy take rest for 2-3 min to relax the muscles. 2. Since the pain is radiating you can do some below mentioned exercises which will give you immediate relief from pain if done correctly. A) Lie on bed on your stomach gently push up with your arms, resting on your forearms. Hold for 5 secs. Now slightly stretch your back muscles and count till 10 and relax. You might feel a slight pain initially but do not worry. Repeat it 15 times. B) Now that pain must have gone. And now you can push up onto your hands fully. Slowly lower down back to floor. Perform this atleast 15 times. Again a slight pain will be there initially. Once you will complete this exercise program your pain will be relieved right away. If pain is severe while doing the exercise then stop doing the exercise and immediately consult some physio to take care further. Other exercises that can be done in sciatica pain are: 1. Straight leg raising 2. Knee to chest. 3. Hamstring stretch. 4. Back extensors stretches and strengthening. 5. Gluteal stretch. All the above can be done for 10-15 times with the hold (stretch) time of 5 -6 secs Make sure to perform the exercises correctly which will give you relief from your pain and strengthen your muscles. Backache in young age is commonly due to 1. Muscle strain resulting from improper posture during gym or daily activities. 2. Intervertebral disc bulge or prolapse. Follow these to get relief. 1. Take anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen round the clock for 5 days for pain relief. 2. Take rest for 3 to 4 days but avoid total bed rest. 4. Do back strengthening and stretching exercises daily once pain is relieved. 5. Apply analgesic cream over back followed by warm fomentation. 6. Keep pillow behind your knees at bedtime. While sleeping on sides keep pillow between knees. 7. Do not bend and lift weights. 8. If back pain is accompanied with radiating leg pain or tingling, numbness or weakness, consult immediately don't worry such backache resolves with proper care as advised above. It happens with diabetes.It happens because of impairment of nerves,blood vessels,muscle function in diabetes.Maintain normal body weight.Follow diet and exercise along with proper medication.Your weight should be 66 kg.Do regular exercise like swimming,push ups,sit ups,plank,yoga.Eat small amount of food frequently.No underground vegetables,banana,cooked pumpkin.No sugar,sweetened juice,cola,soft drinks.Avoid fast foods,junk foods,processed foods.Eat lots of watery vegetables,whole fruit.Take unrefined foods.Eat more protein foods.Add small amount of healthy fat in cooking.Drink lots of water specially before meals.Use lukewarm water 5 mins after meals.Take stress free sleep.

Please take rest for a while and avoid badminton playing for a week or so. Take Mag phos 6x - thrice daily 4 tabs for next 7 days Do hot and cold compresses alternately. Do not stand/sit for too long at a stretch.

1) Do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min., afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) Start natural calcium supplement. 3) Do regular stretching exercise 4) In yoga DO BHUJANGASAN, HALASAN & SURYANAMASKAR. LIFE-STYLE CORRECTION 1) Correct your sitting posture. 2) Take small pillow or back rest for lower back. 3) Foot should rest to floor easily. 4) Take small break after 1 hr & walk few steps. 5) Do neck & upper back extension, give feedback after 4 days.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Avoid forward bending, lifting weights, sitting posture as far as possible, practice yogasanas (bhujangasan, shalbhasan, makarasan, markatasan, chakrasan, kati uttanasan), start physiotherapy and sitting in vajrasan. Consult orthopaedic surgeon if symptoms persist.

Hello, please send me your all investigation report to rule out her problem. These types of problems are may be due to overweight or deficiency of vitamin d3 and calcium or due to poor posture. Till then follow these advises:- 1. Take calcium supplements and sun bath daily to prevent further damage to your joints. 2. Avoid heavy lifting. 3. Avoid squatting and weight bearing activities. 4. Use western toilet. 5. Wear shock absorbing, good quality of shoes while walking. 6. Keep roll of a towel under your knees while sleeping. 7. Perform some gentle exercises and stretching of your all joints before getting out of your bed. 8. Walk straight with shoulder protracted. 9. Perform deep breathing exercises or yoga for proper functioning of lungs. I can explain you stiffness and pain reducing techniques, if interested. Wish you a happy and pain free life thanks.

Hello, If the lower back pain is aggravated day by day and if you experience it's referred pain towards your lower limbs then it might be Sciatica. General causes for lower back pain are spondylysis. Kindly get a X-ray LS Spine to get the correct diagnosis done. To get temporary relief you can do back strengthening exercise and sleep on a hard floor. Hot fomentation will also be helpful for you. Kindly revert your findings for precise treatment plan. Tk care.
