Dear Siddharth, namaskar, Spondylitis does not occur at this age....Sprain needs an injury to occur.....Your problem of pain in cold weather seems to be myalgia...Do hot fomentation and protect urself from cold by a muflar like cloth... Strengthen your muscles by doing Cervical spine exercises round the year OR at least when u don't have pain.... You will settle gradually... take care.

Hello lybrate-user, firstly find out the reason for muscle pain and which body part. As age increases oyur muscle mass reduces. So diet should be sufficient in proteins. Some flexibilty exercises will also help like yoga. Make sure he does not get hypoglycemic due to total sugar avoiding. Let me know if you want further consultation.

Yes it is necessary to reduce the chance of infection. And if you are not confortable with lady Dr. You can go to some other male Dr. You wil easily find such Dr. In your town. But the problem is there also nursing staf would be lady. So do not worry and try to be comfortable.

I met with an accident 6 months ago in which I had severe knee injury. Doctors confirmed that there is no fracture or ligament tear, but they suspect a meniscus tear in the right knee. I have been going through medication including vitamin supplements like depura 60k, for the past six months. Is it safe and advisable to start doing exercises to strengthen my knee. Will this help to cure my knee? And by exercises I mean jogging, sit-ups, lunges etc. I would like to have some advice!

Few months earlier I started playing volleyball, then I had lower leg pain near shin bone (maybe shin splint) on both legs. I decided to take rest and it was gone. Now few days earlier I started running and the pain had came back and became worse. I want to continue my running but I don't know how to minimise the pain. Please advise me something.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Ankle stretching. Ankle strengthening exercises. Avoid squatting. Quadriceps exercises. Core strenthening exercises. Stretch calves get a custom made insole. Hams stretching. Sports taping. Hot fomentation.

Start with physiotherapy sessions and learn exercise for spine. Don't sit on floors. Don't lift heavy things. Take calcium and methylcobalamine supplement with omega3 for three months minimum. Use lumber spine belt also.

Hello lybrate user, back pain is very common in sedentary lifestyle where you have to sit all day long to work in an attention position. This is usually due to a spasm in the muscles around your vertebral column (commonly reffered to as paraspinal muscles) medicines, hot water fomentation and physiotherapy will help you to deal with the condition. More importantly it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and eating healthier on a daily basis. 1 percent improvement a day must be sought, that will contribute to around 30 percent over a month. I had a partial lateral menisectomy done in my right knee for posterior horn tear three months back. Is there any possible way to find out as to how much part of the lateral meniscus I have lost due to this menisectomy. My post operative MRI suggests lateral meniscus as appears to be normal.

After removal of meniscus it is most unlikely that it will grow again mri is the only solution to rule out the size of meniscus.

Exercises for cervicogenic headache hi dear, I hope you will fitt and fine The following exercises are commonly prescribed to patients with this condition. You should discuss the suitability of these exercises with your physiotherapist prior to beginning them. Generally, they should be performed 2 – 5 times daily and only provided they do not cause or increase symptoms. Your physiotherapist can advise when it is appropriate to begin the initial exercises and eventually progress to the intermediate and advanced exercises. As a general rule, addition of exercises or progression to more advanced exercises should take place provided there is no increase in symptoms. ________________________________________ Initial Exercises Chin Tucks Begin this exercise by sitting or standing tall with your back and neck straight, shoulders should be back slightly. Tuck your chin in as far as you can go without pain and provided you feel no more than a mild to moderate stretch (figure 4). Keep your eyes and nose facing forwards during the movement. Hold for 2 seconds and repeat 10 times provided there is no increase in symptoms. Repeat 3 – 5 times daily. (N. B In some cases it may be beneficial to perform this exercise every 1 or 2 hours provided the exercise does not cause or increase symptoms). Shoulder Blade Squeezes Begin this exercise by sitting or standing tall with your back straight. Squeeze your shoulder blades together as hard and far as possible pain-free (figure 5). Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times provided there is no increase in symptoms. Repeat 3 – 5 times daily. (N. In established cases of rheumatoid arthritis dmrd (disease modifying drugs) egmethotraxate, hcqs, lefunomide, saaz etc. Have to be used. They all are toxic drugs & can cause bone marrow depression along with other side effects. They should be taken under medical supervision. Kindly adjust the dose to minimum required, to control your symptoms. Have your tests done periodically to rule out any side effects. Kindly show me x rays of the affected part.
