I am 22 year old female and I have backache in back side of shoulder and pain in shoulder back side.
If you are experiencing shoulder pain, try these exercises to help relieve your pain 1. Arm-across-chest stretch – hold your right hand out in front of you, keeping it near your waist. Reach your left hand behind your elbow, pulling your right arm to the left and across your chest. If you feel pain in your shoulder, lower your arm until the pain subsides. The goal is to be able to pull your right arm across your chest without feeling any pain. Hold for 30-60 seconds then relax and repeat with your left arm. Repeat 3-5 times. 2. Neck release – sit up straight then slowly bring your chin toward your chest until you feel the stretch in the back of your neck. Try leaning your head to the left to stretch your right shoulder or leaning your head to the right to stretch your left shoulder. Hold the stretches up to one minute in each direction, breathing deeply as you concentrate on relaxing. Repeat 3-5 times. To progress the stretch, elevate your arm as you pull it across your chest until it is the height of your shoulder. 3. Chest expansion – put an exercise band, rope, strap, or even a tie behind your back and grasp it with both hands. While holding the strap, draw your shoulder blades toward each other and gently lift your chin toward the ceiling. Breathe deeply for 10 to 15 seconds and release. Repeat 3-5 times. To progress the stretch, move your hands closer together on the strap. 4. Seated twist – sit straight up in a chair with your knees together. Twist your torso to the right, placing your left hand on the outside of your right thigh. Relax your shoulders as you look towards your right, gentling pushing on your right thigh. Breathe deeply for 10 to 15 seconds and release. Repeat with your left side. Repeat both sides 3-5 times. 5. The 90, 90 shoulder stretch – stand in a doorway, holding your arms up so your elbow is at a 90 degree angle and your arm forms a 90 degree angle to your body at the shoulder. Place each hand on one of the sides of the door frame, placing one foot forward as you stand up straight aligning your neck with your spine. Lean forward as you brace yourself against the door frame. Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds. Repeat 2-3 times.

I fell down on back in bathroom, no outside injury but feeling pain in back ,inside abdomen and back of hips.

Apply ice for 20mts twice a day, ober painfull area, if it is a soft tissue injury, it will cure. If the pain persist, it could be bine /joint injury, then consult a pain management specialist.

I have back pain for last 5 yrs. But all of a sudden my pain increased and Dr. suggest to do MRI. After this test it is found L4.

Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

I am suffering from bachache from last one day what I must do to resolve my problem.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Backache of 1 day duration can be due to just muscle strain. If you have localized back pain with - no neurological symptoms like numbness, paresthesia etc - no associated symptoms like fever, swelling etc, my advice is: - take rest for 3-5 days - avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc - take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days - take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm - ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm - local analgesic spray can be used but no massage is required let me know in 2 weeks time how you are feeling and then we can suggest you some exercises for lower back muscle strengthening. Pl see that you do not take hard and big pillow. Also you have not mentioned any cold history etc. Pl take the following for the time being: Shirshooladi vajra rasa 2 tab b.i.d. Godanti bhasm 250 mg b.i.d. Tab Rumalya forte 2 b.i.d. With warm water or milk. In both nostrils put 2-3 drops of Shadbindu oil in the early morning. Do for 10 days and report back for further guidance.

It's due to severe ligament and muscles strain due to heavy continuous exercises with out proper warm up exercises, try to do proper warm up exercises prior to heavy exercises.

Tips and tricks to keep your bones healthy

The bones are the bits and pieces from which the framework of the body. Each bone is placed at the correct position to give your body the structure it has. It is of utmost importance for you to have healthy bones so that the structure or frame of your body is maintained. A lot of times, due to the stress of your daily life, you tend to neglect the health of your bones. But remember that if you want to have a fit body, you will have to keep your skeletal system fit as well. Here are few tips on how to keep your bones healthy:


1.        Family history: Having a knowledge of your family history is extremely important as there maybe cases where you might suffer from a particular disease which is hereditary. If your family has a history of osteoporosis, there is a high chance of you suffering from it. 


2.        Increase your regular calcium and vitamin D intake: Calcium is extremely essential for your bone health. If you want your bones to be healthy and strong, you need to take a regular calcium dose in order to achieve that. But there is a catch to this. Although you might have food containing calcium every day, or take calcium tablets, it won't be helpful until you also get a supply of Vitamin D. Vitamin D helps the bones to absorb the calcium.


3.        Maintain a healthy bone density: To do this you need to eat food which will supply you with vitamin K. Vitamin K boosts the bone density by enabling the body to make the proteins required for healthy bones. Vitamin K also helps the bones absorb calcium just like vitamin D although this function is not predominant for vitamin K.


4.        Exercise: The secret to healthy bones is exercise. The more you exercise regularly, the fitter your bones and muscles will be. Regular exercise helps to keep bone problems at bay. Leading a sedentary lifestyle heightens the risk of suffering from osteoporosis. It can also mess with your bone density and weaken your bones. Hence, exercise regularly for healthy bones.


5.        Cut down on your caffeine intake: Too much of caffeine can mess up the calcium absorbing power of your bones. If you have more than two cups of coffee every day, your bones will gradually become weak.


So, if you want to remain as fit as a fiddle, then try these tips out, and you will not complain.
