Why Brushing Before Bedtime Is So Important

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist,
Why Brushing Before Bedtime Is So Important
Our mouth is constantly cleaned by the action of saliva. During night time the secretion of saliva is reduced and ultimately the cleaning action is reduced. This is the favourable time and situation for the germs to act for a longer time on your teeth causing cavities. This is added with the food remnants present after taking dinner which becomes the dinner for the germs.
These conditions can be changed by night brushing which removes the food debris and reduces the germs that cause cavities.

I am feeling cold in my teeth when I take cold water, so is there any problem in my teeth?

BDS
Dentist, Raipur
It can be sensitivity or due to caries. Kindly get yourself checked from a dentist as looking at the condition of the tooth can the required diagnosis and treatment be planned. If it is sensitivity then you can use thermoseal rx toothpaste twice daily for 15 days. In case of caries kindly get an x-ray done of the tooth.

Mainly you can make it white if you brush your tooth from gum level that 45 degree between your tooth and gums and just 10 strokes upwards and brush from the gums towards teeth whuch can make your teeth glow. Ths method is called as bass method of tooth brushing.

You can by placing crowns, there is bleaching procedures also but it only dims the discoloration but will not remove completely. So crowns or veneers will clear your problem.

I have gap in my frontal teeth of 0.5 cm. What treatment should be done to cure it?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
I have gap in my frontal teeth of 0.5 cm. What treatment should be done to cure it?
Lybrate-user management of the gap will depend on many factors. Was the gap present from childhood or has it developed later? do you have any habits? in a nutshell, you need a proper evaluation before the best course of treatment can be decided keeping in mind your needs, time and cost. The best treatment option would be orthodontic correction (braces) as it would not require the physical alteration of any original tooth. The other options are, ceramic / composite veneers & crowns.

Below in screenshot is my teeth cavity. Is it natural or it goes by time. Quite afraid tell wat to do.
•If your cavity in the tooth is caused by decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection.

I'm 23 years old male. Saliva secrets in my mouth during sleeping. I have lot of saliva while wake up. I have this issue for 10 yrs. Help me to overcome this.

BDS
Dentist, Ahmedabad
Having saliva secretion is a normal body mechanism. There's nothing to worry about it. One good thing younshould know about saliva that most prople don't know is its a natural antibiotic produced in our body. It contains digestive juices also which hepls in a better digestion process. We usually consider saliva as a irritting thing when we get up in the morning and we spit it out with gargles. Instead of spitting it out we should swallow that saliva which in turn olays an important role in terms of digestion as well as a immunity booster. And having much saliva secretion also keeps our teeth clean which again keeos our mouth cavities free. So having much saliva secretion is a good thing rather than irritating.

Requirements may depends on the age, complaint, duration of the treatment & affordability. Cost of cosmetic dentistry varies with dentist. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner.
