I received oral sex from a female she doesn't seems to have any herpes related issues but though I fear about herpes. Any chances for transmission of herpes at first exposure? Is there any cure in ayurvedic or homeopath?

Hello- Yes, a single unprotected sexual session can cause herpes/or any other STD if the partner is infected. And yes again, it can be cured completely without recurrence with the help of ayurvedic treatment.

Which Is Healthier, Green Tea Vs. Milk Tea?

Which Is Healthier, Green Tea Vs. Milk Tea?

If we try to think about the most consumed drink in the world, then tea will come second to none but water. Interestingly, all types of tea, be it green or black, comes from the same plant i.e. Camellia sinensis. The difference only lies in processing and oxidation that makes the difference.

Without adding anything to it, tea or it’s leaves contain hardly any calories, fat, sodium, carbonation or sugar. Tea contains antioxidants and is known to have many health benefits, including reducing the incidence of diabetes.

Which Is Healthier Diet Drink?

GREEN TEA -Green tea leaves do not undergo fermentation and hence, don’t go through the oxidation process which black tea undergoes. This retains an extremely rich amount of EGCG (epigallactocatechin gallate), a popular antioxidant known for fighting heart disease, strokes, cancer and more.

BLACK TEA -The EGCG in black tea is destroyed during the fermentation process which makes it low in this powerful anti-oxidation.

Dear lybrate user. The possibility of pregnancy is more if the semen is ejaculated within vagina after seven days from the date of her first day of menstrual cycle. From the given information, there is a chance of pregnancy. There are no natural ways to prevent pregnancy. Consult a gynecologist. Take care.

It's too early to say whether you are pregnant or not, you will have to wait till your due date, if you skip that then do a Urine pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy. Ipills are harmonal tabs which has side effects like bloating due to acidity.

How To Tackle PCOS Naturally

MBBS, DGO
Gynaecologist, Pune
How To Tackle PCOS Naturally

Women with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome), are researched to be at a greater risk for heart diseases, obesity, diabetes and infertility.

A few dietary guidelines to combat pcos

Try to select lower glycemic index foods such as whole grains (jowar, bajra, whole wheat, green vegetables, etc) as they will cause a slower rise in blood sugar levels. For example, oat flakes or wheat daliah (10 gm fiber/1/2 cup) has a lower glycemic index than cornflakes (1 gm fiber/1/2 cup. Simply put, add fiber in your diet by selecting wheat breads over white breads, wheat rotis over rice or maida naans, fresh fruits over fruit juices.

Do cut down your carbohydrate levels so low that you induce ketosis. Try to space the carbohydrates evenly through the day and eat small and frequent meals rather than 3 large meals.

Restrict intake of those carbohydrates that trigger more hunger or cravings (i. E. Refined sugar, sweets, candies or chocolates which triggers craving for some people). Choose dates or honey to meet your sugar cravings.

Suggested vitamin/ mineral supplements: taking calcium 1000 mg - 1500 mg (take two - three 500 mg pills a day as prescribed but be sure to space them out as you can only absorb 500 mg at a time). You may also add a multivitamin with minerals like folic acid, especially so, if you are trying to get pregnant.

Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day as a high fiber carbohydrate intake can cause dehydration.

For heart health, limit foods high in saturated and trans-fats (i. E, whole milk and products, butter, red meat, fried foods, rich desserts, etc.). Select mainly monounsaturated fats (i. E. Olive oil, canola oil, nuts) and omega 3 fats -fatty fish (such as bangda, rohu, sardines, and surmai), flaxseed, and nuts as these fats are heart friendly. Exercise on a regular basis to lose weight and improve insulin response.

I had surgical abortion on 19th of this month but almost no bleeding is there and the symptoms of pregnancy is still there like dizziness and pain in the nipples. Today morning I did pregnancy test and it showed positive. I am scared that the abortion was not successful. Please help.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology

Either you go back to the same Dr, or you may wait for three weeks, as it takes 3 to 4 wks to show negative results in urine pregnancy test. Or you may get an ultrasound done to confirm for pregnancy there still or not.

Hi, Do an U/S scan of the breasts to rule out any pathology. Delayed periods may be due to some harmonal imbalance which might have even given rise to breast pain also. Give hot water fomentation to the breasts and consult a lady doctor with the reports for further treatment.

I am not interested in having children. What alternatives to hysterectomy are available?
At 28 years hysterectomy is not the option. If you r suffering from fibroids then fibroids can be removed. If you have excessive bleeding during menses and completed family, then endometrial ablation is one therapy in which inner lining of the uterus is removed.

4 Ways To Deal With Negative Thoughts About Your Body!

4 Ways To Deal With Negative Thoughts About Your Body!

Today, most people’s perception of a beautiful woman is a tall, slim, fair skinned woman. However, not everyone is built with such a physique but still have a beauty of their own. As they say, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder and if you think you are beautiful then that confidence will indeed give you the grace and elegance to be noticed. Sadly, we tend to focus more on the social perception of beauty and tend to find faults with ourselves as we try to fit into that mould. These constant negative thoughts lead to the development of emotions that range from discontentment to depression and hence are extremely unhealthy. Here are a few tips to help break out of this negative cycle:

  1. Look Out For Thinking Errors- Most people with a negative self-image tend to think along a few common lines. Recognise these thinking errors and try avoiding them to build a more positive self-image. This includes thinking only in extremes, magnifying things, turning emotions into reasons etc. Realise that thinking negatively makes it more difficult for you to achieve your goals or what you want out of life. Recognising these patterns is the first step towards accepting yourself and building your self-confidence.

  2. Stop Making Comparisons- From early childhood, we begin comparing ourselves with others. As we get older, we compare our self-image with what we see on magazine covers and billboards. Even though we know they have been digitally enhanced, we still aspire to look like them. However, each person’s physique is different and it is not possible for everyone to look like a model.

  3. Recognise Your Strengths- You may have heavy hips but at the same time, you also may have beautiful eyes. Focus on the parts of your body that you love and each time you find yourself complaining about your self-image, remind yourself of these parts. Be grateful for what you have instead of sinking into a victim syndrome.

  4. Look Out For Triggers- Find out what triggers negative thoughts in you and stay away from them for a while. For some people, this may be in the form of magazines while for others it may be certain TV shows or even the company they keep. Surround yourself with positive imagery and positive people who will support you and uplift you instead of simply sympathising with you and letting you believe that you are a victim. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.
