Hi. Let me tell you about hairfall. In layman's language, hairfall can be divided into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent (which is called as 'Hairloss' rather). In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, may be because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up, subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. (There are different pattern and types of hairloss, because of different reasons like Alopecia Areata, Telogen Effluvium, Scarring Alopecia, Traction Alopecia, etc.) Causes of hairloss: Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or male/ female pattern baldness - hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger, use of bore water, any other underlying diseases, etc. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. (N.B.: With the help of homoeopathic medicines, we can only prevent further progress of the hairloss, means it will get arrests in the present condition in case of progressive baldness. But, in case there are areas of baldness which has gone smooth and shiny, you will have to choose an option of Hair Transplant along with theses medications!). Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

10 Tips For Healthier Heart

Here are some tips to help you look after your heart. 

1. Quit smoking now. Twelve months after quitting, your increased risk of dying from heart disease will be half that of a continuing smoker. 

2. Improve your diet. Include wholegrain cereals, legumes, fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts in your diet and lower your risk of heart disease. 

3. Exercise regularly. Walk briskly for 30 minutes a day and reduce your risk of heart attack by one third.

4. Maintain your friendships. People with supportive friendship networks are at less risk of heart disease.

5. Eat more fish. Oily fish like tuna, sardines or salmon are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and will boost your good cholesterol. 

6. Switch your chocolate choice. Switch from milk chocolate to dark chocolate. When eaten in moderation, dark chocolate is good for your heart.

7. Limit your alcohol. It is recommended you limit yourself to no more than two standard glasses of alcohol a day if you are a man, or one glass a day if you are a woman.

8. Avoid salty and high sodium foods. Don't add salt when preparing or eating your meals. 

9. Have a diabetes test. Uncontrolled diabetes can damage your artery walls and contribute to heart disease.

10. Make fitness fun. Choose activities that combine exercise and socialising like pilates, water aerobics, dancing, cycling or yoga.

You need to go back into your childhood and find out what during that time may have contributed to your high level of anger. The tiredness may be related to the anger if it is turned inwards. When you internalize anger, it will stifle your natural energy and make you feel low and tired. It can also lead to depression. None of the feelings are to be controlled. The way you express them has to be appropriate. Now anger is pure energy and people mistakenly think that they must express anger violently, or aggressively, or they can damage something, or throw a fit, or kill, or hurt, or withdraw, etc. These expressions can be followed, if they are appropriate to the situation. You can instead simply talk about the feeling, write about it and share it with someone who understands; scream and shout in a situation which warrants it and so on. When the expression is most suitable, the repercussions are minimized and the other person tends to understand and is willing to apologize and sort out the matter. Many of us are inclined to worry about the consequences of expressing anger and use fear to suppress the legitimate expression. You can exorcise your anger out of your system by exercising, but it is the energy that is expended not the feeling. Unexpressed feelings will hurt you back by clinging on to a favorite organ and troubling it enough to cause it to malfunction or lead to its total dysfunction. You can also hand over the feeling to God, if you are a spiritual person, and very effectively too. All feelings must be expressed without exception.

Hello Atul. Well your Sugar levels are high both Fasting and PP. Here i dont know as to whether you already taking any medication or not. For precautions you can avoid direct sweetner, can have plenty of salad in your diet, atleast 30 mins of wslking every day. You can consult me with all you history so that i can guide you better. As you are suffering from no menses for 6 years, it should be investigated immediately. Please get blood tests, fsh, lh, tsh and prolactin done as soon as possible along with sonography.

I have active chicken pox and it started 9 days before. My baby is 23 days old and he is vaccinated with immune globulin 8 days ago. I have stopped breast feeding him from that. Can I give breast milk to him using pump and avoiding any direct physical contact?

Yes your eye number changes as your body grows but usually stabilizes by the age of 18-20. So dont worry. Just wear glasses or contact lens and have annual eye checkup.

I am suffering from urticaria since november 2013. I was prescribed allopathic medicines which gave temporary relief only. The rashes are sometimes like scratch and sometimes cover an area over shoulder, chest, back, neck, and abdomen. Sometimes scratch like rashes appear on forearm. Lesions appear if something is written on forearm skin by some object. Usually the patches on shoulder, neck etc. Are itchy and heat is felt. Over the time I was using cetrizine which was working very well and the symptoms almost disappear on cetrizine. Later on in 2015 I stopped taking cetrizine and tried to control the issue with natural cures and ayurvedic remedies. However the problem was reduced but did not go off completely. So I would used to bear the less rashes that I had. But, about 3 months ago I contacted cold and used to cough. The cough lasted for more than weeks and I had breathing difficulty. I went to see a doctor after Xray and ct scan, mediastinal nodes were identified in lungs and TB was suspected. After biopsy which was done to rule out lymphoma TB was most probably suspected. Doctor has now given me TB drugs mostly antibiotics. However, in due course I have started taking cetrizine again and my urticaria has got worse. My body is less immune I think as I usually get cold in every season. Earlier I used to smoke and drink, but since one year I have quit all tobacco products and alcohol completely in order to curb urticaria. Currently I am using following remedies on daily basis: Nat. Muir 1M (empty stomach), Hepar sulphur 1M, belladonna 1M and Arsenic Album 1M. Bacillinum 10M (once a week) All are taken two drops directly on tongue on prescription of a family homeopathic doctor. I suspect that I might have a leaky gut, but I am not sure. I avoid milk products and I am also suffering from tooth cavity. Now I want to seek professional advice to cure Urticaria. Kindly advise on urticaria specific remedy.

To control or maintan BP normal there are some instructions are given below: •Do not take salt in high amount or try to avoid it because high sodium level increase BP. • Eat less amount of pickle and fast food, fast food contain high sodium. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. • Take less amount of coffee and tea both increase BP. • Drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily. • Do exercise daily, jogging and long walk. To maintain the skin health and reduce the dry skin condition, follow this - Bathe with gentle soaps. If possible use some natural ingredients like gramflour, turmeric mixed with some milk to bathe daily. This does not wash your skin off the natural oils. Keep your bath short and do not use hot water to bathe. Use only lukewarm water. Apply Vitamin E oil or warm olive oil on the body after bathing. You can also use a good moisturiser. Cocoa butter mixed with wheat germ oil is also very good at maintaining the skin health. You can mix some oils like – Sesame, olive, virgin coconut oil, wheat germ oil to apply before going to bed. Consume diet that is rich in vitamin E, omega 3 and 6 and other skin friendly vitamins like vitamin E and A. Eat almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds, sesame seeds to maintain skin health. Keep yourself hydrated. Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water to keep your skin soft and supple.
