I have leg pain in last 3 months , I am 40 years old now, have if got any relief. What should I do now?
Quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

MY mother ,above 75 years ,recently undergone ( 2 moths back ),for DHS fracture /dislocation hippe joint ,is on bed ,she developed Fissure in annus ,unbearable pain ,is there any solution .Without surgery ?

Dear Your mother has fissure which is due to constipation and passage of hard faeces, Suggest: 1.Give emollient laxative like Duohaklax or cremaffin plus at night. 2.Give naturolax granules one sachet with a glass full of water at night or Isabgol powder 3-4 tsf in glass full of water at night. 3.Apple Zinc ointment inside and twice a day. This is a castor oil based ointment like a nappy rash cream. 4. Increase fluid intake 5.Five high fibre diet in form of green leafy vegetable, fruits like papaya, banana , mango etc. 6.If she can do some exercise in the bed 7. If she is still constipated then use suppository for toilet 8 If that doesn't work then use enema which are available in market regularly. Dr. Kiran Mehta.

I am 22 years old male, I have a bit sprain in my shoulders (most probably due to sleep in a lousy posture last night), I do pushups in the evening (but I dont think it would have any significant impact). I applied some volini, but still I need to study for tomorrows exam, any suggestions?

Dear, apply ice for 20 min at your pain area. 3-4 times a day. Stop pushups till pain subsides. Take care.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 1 wk, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Answer to your query depends on her age and not listening or not hearing. Her hearing is normal as per tests reports. Listening is related to attention i.e. To respond to command. Ok.

Hi lybrate user legs pain can be decrease by exercises regularly start with light exercises of legs two times a day 15-20 repetition once your exercise routine maintained do three times a day with gradually increase exs. Mri is scanning test it's important and useful for doctor only not for you. You just focus on your problem related to your age, less physical activity, renal problem, anemia or secondary causes etc. Try to relax it.

Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

Leg exercise kijiye daily I hope you will fit and fine. Basic Leg Exercises The following Basic Leg Exercises should generally be performed 1 - 3 times per week provided they do not cause or increase pain. Ideally they should not be performed on consecutive days, to allow muscle recovery. As your strength improves, the exercises can be progressed by gradually increasing the repetitions, number of sets or resistance of the leg exercises provided they do not cause or increase pain. Swiss Ball Squats Begin this leg exercise in standing with your feet shoulder width apart, your feet facing forwards and a Swiss Ball placed between a wall and your back (figure 1). Slowly perform a squat, keeping your back straight. Your knees should be in line with your middle toes and should not move forward past your toes. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Lunges Begin this leg exercise standing with your back straight in the position demonstrated (figure 2). Slowly lower your body until your front knee is at a right angle. Keep your front knee in line with your middle toe and your feet facing forward. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Hip Abduction Sidelying Begin this leg exercise lying on your side in the position demonstrated (figure 3). Keeping your back and knee straight and foot facing forwards, slowly take your leg upwards tightening the muscles at the side of your thigh / hip (abductors). Hold for 2 seconds and then return to the starting position. Perform 1 – 3 sets of 10 repetitions on each leg provided the exercise is pain free. This exercise can be progressed by adding an ankle weight to your ankle for increased resistance.

I am a 43 yr old female and have left leg and right hand pain for last 4-5 years, what should I do?

It could be due to cervical spondylosis this is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do neck & back (spine) exercises use of cervical collar will give you relief. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you will need other supportive medicines also. Do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan.
